The importance of recruitment

Issue stemmed before Guy Branston, he's the Jamie Fullarton type figure. Just someone who fans can see and point the blame on.

At the end of the day, the manager in charge needs to have the final say and understand if he can work with the players.

I think the importance of recruitment has been show this season, we have actually done very well and even the young loan players have shown their worth.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

i think the clubs identified that recruitment is essential to moving forward.

clubs like stoke dont realise what works, people have to work in harmony and strive for the best. i think a manager should choose his signings but others can find them to make it easier, end of the day its the managers job.

Attention should be on doing everything within the club to the very best that they can do, from scouting to coaching.

Provided the recruitment remains as it has been this season, Notts should be fine.

I think Notts finally has this pretty much bang on with how we should be tracking players, some of the recruitment has to go down to the amount willing to be paid but finding good players has been better this season.

In the age of transfer windows, you only need one bad transfer window and you're completely stuffed.

In recent years there hasn't been enough consideration of how signings will fit in with the rest of the team, how they will get on. The team spirit is vital, as that's what brings out the best in players, and it's been ignored too often in the past.

Some manages just prefer to coach and work on the tactics, I imagine it's a very time consuming job.

Club from the board down to the coaching staff, they all need to be on the same wavelength. I can't help but add sometimes managers look for the nearest excuses despite being content to work with others at the time.

I don’t think anyone can under value the recruitment or coaching, both go hand in hand. The manager has to have the final say.

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.

Recruitment is always important, as is replacing players which truly reveals how good a clubs recruitment really is.

However, you need good coaches more than anything.

You can take a player that has the basics and bring them out further with training, recruitment is only a portion of this - whereas the coaching side is far more important.

Knowing that a player coming in will settle and get game time is massive, no manager wants an unhappy player in his squad.

Neal Ardley has done well avoiding this at Notts.

Considering he's actively pushed many players out of the door, with good or bad interest we will never know but Notts have benefited.
