Good morning PoN itโs a lovely bright morning here, leaving football aside how is everyone?
We are still on our little holiday with the grandchildren, itโs costing an arm and a leg but weโre having a great time. Apart from the fact that I woke up at 3am with raging stomach ache, it was the greasy fish and chips I had yesterdayย that were reminding me Iโm suppose to be eating healthily but itโs tradition to have fish and chips at the seaside isnโt it?
Today we are off to a wildlife park (more expense, how do people afford kids these days), yesterday we had to pay adult price for our grandchildren at the aquarium because they were over 12! Since when have over 12โs been adults? RIP off if you ask me.
So whatโs everyone else doing today, anything exciting?
I need a bit of help guys Iโm setting a pop up burger grille. Itโs going to at meadow lane as soonย ย as I can and around nottingham at food fair and pubs etc. The burgers and brisket are hand made the burgers are a blend of different cuts of beeF.ย But i need to ask whatย u guys thinks of the food (burgers) inside meadow lane and Around. Do you think itโs to expensive for what you get. And finally what would you be happy to pay and what would you wxsoectย for that money. Here are a few example of whatย I like to serve and will be serving.ย in your opinion would they do well. If you think that my productย wouldnโt sell or not right for football or where I plan please say guys your feed is appreciatedย please be honest guys this is my market Research thanks in advance guys.

Results haven't been great as of late, many fans are asking big questions of a back 4 who look like conceding for fun. But if you were Kevin Nolan what would you do? Change tactics, formation, players or style of play?ย
For me I'd change the style of play because we don't have the same target men we had last season in Stead and Ameobi together. I'd play a passing game, use it to our advantage with Dennis and Hemmings up front playing to feet could benefit them. David Vaughan as a midfielder can pick a pass or 2. I'd also consider going into the loan market and enquire about new goalkeeper as Fitzsimmons doesn't look confident in goal as shown against Middlesbrough when he should of demanded the box better for 2 of their goals. Ben Hall when fit should be slotted into that back 4 replacing Duffy, bring in Bird to replace Brisley. Crawford/Patching should be given a chance to freshen up that midfield and bring something new to the team with a passing game. Possibility of reverting to a 5-3-2 formation which worked well for England in the World Cup with Nathan Thomas as a left wing back to cover the defence which will help solidify them. Right wing back would be up for anyone as Enzio might not be the capable player to play that position as he's attacking based. If there was a 5-3-2 change
Fitzsimmons
Enzio Bird Hall Tootle/Hewitt Thomas
Patching Vaughan Crawfordย
Dennis Hemmings

Good morning PoN, I hope everyone is well. This is our second day in our static on the coast we had a very comfortable night, only just woke up 8.30 must be a record for me.
Itโs matchday today whose going, whose listening? Iโll be trying to catch up on the score on my phone, letโs hope we put Friday behind us and kick start the season.
Whats everyone up to, let PoN know.
TV sizes are becoming ridiculously big, here in the states it's not uncommon to see them 60inchs or above now. There's no need to sit right up to the TV anymore is there?
So, what TV do you own and how big is it?
Remember size doesn't matter.ย ????

Good morning PoN, itโs a cloudy start here but dry and warm. Iโm up early because we are off to the coast with our eldest grandchildren, weโve got a static van for the week. Weโve just got to pack the last things in the car then pick the kids up, I say kids but theyโre teenagers now, time flies.
Thanks to everyone who engages in the daily chat thread itโs doing really well, I hope to continue whilst away but donโt forget anyone can start the thread so if you come on the forum and it isnโt there feel free to start it.
Have a great day and let us know what your day holds for you.

good and bad player at the same time, he will most likely become a fan favourite.
His first goal was a screamer, could have done with him having a go on target against Yeovil.
I did see a Crawley town fan post that he tends to drift in and out of games, when we first signed him. Hope he'll score us some goals though COYP
As the topic title says, is the US ways of doing things taking over?
American words sneaking into the English language, people referring to items in shops as "merchandise" and many other things. Thoughts?

Which player has been the biggest disappointment so far and why?
It's early days, players can and most likely will improve but until then I would like to know what the PON community thinks.

Is anyone currently reading a book? if so name what it is and a brief outline of what you think about it.
I do tend to read a book between driving and transporting goods across America, the free time I have is limited as to what I can do but I enjoy a good book.

..or the chickens coming home to roost.
The defence last season was so well protected by the likes of Hewitt, Yates and Hawkridge and since the departure of Yates, he was the key player that has not been replaced.
Player identification is the key for success. Look at Accrington last season, 23rd in L2 in terms of revenues yet the budget was allocated so precisely and a balanced team won promotion
By offering O'Connor allegedly 3 contract offers, we then panicked and signed Vaughan...the wrong type of midfielder when we already had Husin. Neither can tackle and win the second ball, yet players like Harry Pell were available at the right price and Colchester rightly identified him as a Bishop / O'Connor / Yates like midfielder
Similarly, Omar Sowunmi contract had expired and his towering performance Friday night, showed that there were better players than offering Duffy a new contract.
Calls for Hewitt to return to midfield I hear people voice out loud,. However, he must have one of the worst pass completion rates in L2. If we are serious about promotion, are there better midfielders available ( see Pell above!)
Brentford built their success on their own "moneyball" model. Even scouring Europe for "value for money" players that could give you a competitive advantage. Southampton also devoted a lot of resources behind the scenes watching lower European league videos, looking for "gems" at a low price.
Fitzsimons, has come under a lot of criticism but he was blameless against Yeovil, and it can be argued his saves, could have prevented a 0-8 loss
Well the loan window needs to be used to get that key central midfield bully.
It's early days too, but the strikers don't look like "natural goal scorers". You look at some strikers and can recognise a goal scoring instinct and coolness in front of goal. I just don't see that with Dennis and Hemmings at the moment.

I have been annoyed, disappointed and angered already this season.
After time to think about what has happened, I do calm down and I see that Notts have improved other the last few games since the opening day draw against Colchester United. I would be more concerned right now if Notts gave into the minority who want Kevin Nolan out.
There will be pressure on the club, players and manager, it's for them to balance this out.
I just feel right now that sacking Nolan would lead to further unrest and he has yet to be given fair time to sort his squad out, some managers you know won't accept anything less than what they want in the long run. I have faith in Nolan to sort it all out. How concerned are you about the slow start?

Iโve read @Chrisโs article about the match yesterday and he hints at a bad atmosphere in the kop, Iโve also heard other fans mention the vitriol and nastiness expressed by some fans mainly in the kop.
This is one reason why I stopped going in the kop especially when things are going wrong for Notts, the atmosphere is great when we are winning but the knives come out if we are playing badly and losing.
Ok the Pavis is full of shall we say more mature (age wise) people and I feel that the older fan like myself have gone through lots of bad seasons and still supported through the lean years as well as the glory years.
In the Pavis last year I saw more encouragement at the end of the match not a lot of booing just disappointment more than anything else, the fans there seem to be more forgiving.
The above is just my opinion I know not all kop fans are the same and I have no wish to upset any of them.

heartbreaking yeovil, cambridge and newport.ย ????
FFS it makes me angry seeing how soft we give goals a way, can we hire that stupid PON member to be the defensive coach since he said they was okay.ย ????ย It sounds like he might be advising KN now actually.
It disappoints me to think how poor Notts are defensively.
