  1. A new trophy being trialed this season, I'm unsure if its instead of the jpt but its bonkers, 16 regional groups of 4...

This is apparently to help our home grown players by including academy teams and premiership U21 teams

  2. Statement from the club!

    http://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/magpies-reduce-match-ticket-prices-3174821.aspx?platform=hootsuite

The main news is that ticket prices fall by two quid if you buy them before matchday. Which is nice. Personally I think football is too expensive in general, but 20 quid is a step in the right direction. The statement doesn't say whether it only applies to tickets bought at the ground though...

  3. We're reaching the business end now - can anyone catch @ohstanleyaborah? To prevent things from petering out, double points are at stake in this round, so think about your predictions carefully!

    Portugal - Wales

    Germany - France

  4. I haven't yet made my mind up, but Blackburn and Forest are mostly a yes from me - including a potential Walsall meeting up with SadLad if he can make the game would be nice.

    What about you?

  5. I'm quite impressed by how so far all the teams that have featured have given their follow opposition a proper game, okay albeit Russia - who failed to really test England but yet managed to walk away with a point (hopefully they're disqualified before their final game, as I think if they lose the next game - we'll see hell let loose and them not caring about any repercussions).

The Republic of Ireland v Sweden for me handed a welcoming surprise, Ireland played some good stuff and I felt they deserved to win.

Despite media saying Germany played disappointingly after mustering a lacklustre performance - I felt until Italy played, they had been the best side so far.

Spain didn't do that well IMO, they struggled to score and should they? The Czech Republic for me deserved something from it.

Belgium proved they're overrated and that the majority of fans based their opinions on what pundits say or the media (I don't see them getting out of the group stages - I didn't before they played).

Albania and Northern Ireland have been the weaker sides for me so far, NI needed to be more offensive but sat back allowing Poland to attack - however they highlighted how you should park the bus and defend a team you expect to lose against.

So, what teams have impressed you? What have you thought of the Euro's so far? Which game is the best yet in your opinion?

  6. I mentioned it in the amevor thread but felt it deserved to have it's own thread

Who is this guy ? A new striker or centre half ? I thought it could have been Percival-knight but it doesn't look like him

  7. I just had a notification pop up on my screen alerting me to a message on the left side row of icons.

With that in mind I thought I better start one of these to say hello. My first impressions are that the site is very well operated, it is easy to navigate and I really do like what I am seeing. With the way things are around Notts I thought I would join in here but be warned I do like my say when things are not so rosy. I have supported the club all my life, nothing stops me going.

Oh and I dislike the club over the other side of the trent!

  8. Radio Nottingham reported this morning that we are about to sign him from Newport. Bit of an odd one, 29 years old, played most of his career in non league, but he is a winger, so JS must have seen something in him and I wouldn't have thought he will be on a lot.

  9. Welcome @countyrich,

Thanks for taking the time to join us here at Pride of Nottingham, I hope that you enjoy visiting and chip in with a comment or two - its always good to see what other fans think. You Pies!

  10. We have a couple of new users - welcome to the pleasure dome, @Adam_James and @john cheegham! Fancy telling us a bit about yourselves, or how long you've been following Notts?

One tip for new users - the dashboard (under the "Community" tab at the top) gives you a handy overview of the most active topics and articles.

  11. The post are reporting that Stevenage are looking to sign Izale McLeod! I think he could be amazing at this level given the right service and if he could actually be bothered

  12. Since your still lurking, why dont you put the rumours to bed once & for all?.

The Stags money,do we owe them or not,if so why?

    Are you selling or not?

Who is targeting a new manager RT or new owners?

Simple answers, that dont require too much detail, but get rid of the main rumours hanging over the club. You could of answered the Stags one when on,but no your more bothered about moderators.Which is the bigger issues?.Dont want to sound hateful but getting really ****ed off with the news & communication that is coming out of the club.

  13. Pre-Season has started with training, we are still being linked with additional players and the squad is looking quite optimistic at this stage. However, from now on - what do you hope John Sheridan does?

Do you feel any players need letting go? Perhaps you would like to see another position signed?

If we didn't sign any more players how would you feel? For me, I still hope we can sign an extra striker and a defensive midfielder. I think these two positions are vital - if no players leave, I hope JS tracks players for the January transfer window (which is where I believe we will require further tweaking).

Like I mentioned in my article - Here | I hope he uses the pre-season to form and establish his starting 11. Obviously things will change but I would like to see our squad settle down as early possible.

What about you? What areas are important for building for promotion or 'stability' in League Two? Discuss....

  14. How do you feel John Sheridan is doing so far without a ball yet kicked competitively how impressed are you with the work done so far ? Are you inspired with confidence in him and the season ahead ? How about the club as a whole? Discuss

  15. Jordan Bowery has gone to Leyton Orient on a two year deal, so that is the end of that rumour. Are we still in the market for another striker? I can only see it if McLeod is moved on at the moment, but will wait and see.

  16. Dear NCFC fans,

Following on from the success of FITC's wine-tasting evening and based on feedback from fans, we've organised an informal evening of beer-tasting with Castle Rock and we'd love you to attend!

On Wednesday 6th July, fans will be able to try a range of Castle Rock's finest beers in the comfort of the private upstairs room of the local Embankment pub.  Castle Rock staff will be on hand to give some expert information about the chosen ales and answer any questions you may have as the event begins from 6pm.  Pizzas are half-price at The Embankment on this evening and after sampling some fine beers, fans will be able to remain in the room with their drink of choice where the first semi-final of the Euro's will be beamed onto a large projector.

Tickets are £10 (+£1 booking fee) and are available from; http://www.trap6events.co.uk/

All proceeds go towards Football in the Community's working-age dementia project for people within Nottinghamshire suffering from early-onset dementia.

Any questions please ask, we hope to see you for a beer on July 6th for a beer and some footy action!

  17. Would be a great addition, a quality  left sided defender for league 2, defence sorted!

  18. I just watched this...

And I nearly woke my house up, ah! I don't recall Eric being anything else other than serious but this is class.

    He gets my vote!

Will Football League clubs lose revenue?

The major impact would be felt by Football League clubs, who would see their number of matches reduced from 46 to 38 per season.

Despite the potential of losing revenue from three fewer home matches, Harvey has asked the 72 clubs to take a "broader view of English football".

"We have to make sure none of our clubs are in a financially worse position," he added.

"Our clubs shouldn't be the only one to shoulder the burden. We won't be looking for clubs to take a financial haircut to support this.

"We believe focusing on weekend games will, over period of time, drive bigger attendances and increase quality of performance on the pitch."

    Unquote

So this would follow on from the FA, a few years back,  which drastically cut prize money for the earlier rounds on the FA Cup, to offer more financial incentives from Round 3 onwards

  20. Evening all,

I used to be quite active on the Notts Mad board but gave up about a year or so ago as if I'm honest I began to lose quite a bit of interest in Notts and football as a whole (now have a Panthers season ticket for this coming season but not a Notts one, yet).

So when I come online just to have a poke around I don't appear to be able to access any forums on the Footy Mad boards. Is this a new thing, me being an idiot, board closed down? I've have a quick look and cannot find anything explaining whats going on. Is it just me or has the Footy Mad boards stopped operating?

  21. So, here are the next round's fixtures. Get your predictions in!

    Poland v Portugal

    Wales v Belgium

    Germany v Italy

    France v Iceland

  22. Wales were incredible tonight, a truly magical incredible performance. A team of players who in the main play for unglamorous clubs are a credit to their manager, their former sadly departed manager (Gary Speed) & yes, to the UK. I do hope the suits full of f**k all at the English FA take note while they quoff their Champers & think of another way to make the Premier League monster even bigger & more powerful, eating its way through the rest of English Football while they're at it......sorry, rant over, but congratulations to the Welsh FA, their brilliant players, manager, & supporters who also showed the English how to support their team!!

  23. Notts County clear the decks some more. Murray and Valencic have been released.

  24. He was great for us in his loan spells and think he would be a great signing in league 2, thoughts?
