Well I have contacted the club (Mrs T) to see if anybody would be interested in a lovely piece of embroidery.

The lady who created the piece is a friend, and did mention that if the price was right she would consider selling.

It quite rightly won "Best in Show" up here this year, the photo doesn't really do it justice, the detail and colours are amazing.

Do you think this is something that would interest anybody else?

How are we all today? (or when you read this)

What have you been up to? how are you finding this festive period? Are you excited?

I've had my assessment today, went better than I had hoped and I am starting to get in the festive spirit even more. Sadly I have been very busy and finding it hard to sit in one position for any length good enough to visit certain sites - I should use my mobile more! I expect I am not the only who's busy or finding other things cropping up.

I can't wait for Christmas, Jake, Ellie and Ava will be delighted! I hope everyone's families also have a great time this year.

Quite glad that we've got the shopping sorted! So, it's just a case of relaxing and trying to take things a little easy.

Hope you're all okay :)

Delroy is one of the 6 men arrested in connection with the betting syndicate investigation.

I hope this has nothing to do with any of ours. Whoever, a lifetime ban, should suffice.

Denying the fans of an honest and open game is the biggest crime of them all.

Well this year, I am expecting a book for Crimble.

When asked what I would like, the fist thing that came into the old wooden top was:

Steak Diana Ross.

Here is hoping...

I told Mrs PTID (galley slave etc etc) to purchase aforementioned prized gift, from t' club shop, not that Brazilian sounding company, that dodges it's taxes.

We shall see.

Hello Guys, Ian here(Millers fan), just some thoughts on League One's game of the day this coming Saturday, well, the only one....lol.

From reports I read & heard, Notts turned in a much improved display & were unlucky to lose against Brentford last weekend. At the same time, we were in the process of murdering the Gills 4-1 at NYS. Gillingham couldn't really have complained if it'd been 7 or 8-1, such was our domination of the game.

If Notts can maintain the calibre of performance this Saturday v the Gills, surely the three points are there for the taking, & narrowing the gap at the bottom.

I'm predicting a 3-1 win for Notts, so good luck Pies.....

Due to it being FA Cup 2nd round weekend, there's only one game each in both Leagues 1 & 2, so instead of two fixtures from each league we'll have three Championship fixtures, and 3 cup fixtures. The first three are the Championship fixtures.

This weekend's fixtures:

Brighton & Hove Albion v Leicester City

Millwall v Wigan Athletic

Queens Park Rangers v Blackburn Rovers

Bristol Rovers v Crawley Town

Hartlepool United v Coventry City

Wycombe Wanderers v Preston North End

Good luck everyone :)

Have heard up here that the above transfer could take place. He is a central defender 19 and is currently on trial.

Being on trial is nothing new for him, as he was jailed for killing two in a car accident where he was doing over 50mph in a 30.

Just wondered what the reaction of the fans will be, as they were rather vocal on Lee Hughes' presence at Notts. There is a good chance of some hypocrisy here.

He was given a 16 month sentence in regard to the killings. Which seems lenient considering Lee got 6 years for causing the death of one person, although his sentence had failing to report and leaving the scene included.

Apart from the obvious pitiful sentence handed out by the courts, what are your thoughts?

I'm nearing the end of my 'Typical Thursday's', which include walking to the City Hospital to do my physio. If you had asked me two months ago, I would have said I would be glad by this point however, last month I was ill for the majority and I missed several sessions. In this process my Knee's become weaker to the point it swells up, then I'm in intense pain and during my last assessment my physio was able to move my knee cap with minimal effort from two fingers.

I don't think this cold weather is helping, as this increases the pain.

After today, I have one more assessment and I was told in my last one it's likely to be my last. This leaves me having to consider allowing a doctor to perform one of two operations suggested to me, all in order to obtain more physio!

I'm going to make the most of this session - I'm not giving up.

How do you typically spend Thursday's?

Hi everyone, my name is Ludovick Martin, I'm about to start a new blog in french for the Québec Soccer federation wich is a part of the Canadian Soccer Association. Every month I want to do a feature on a club people don't know about, as the oldest pro football club, I decided to start with Notts County.

First of all I'd like to know, is there any good website out there about the history of your club? I'm not too keen on relying on Wikipedia for information.

Also Id like to ask you guys a couple of questions related to the failed takover from a couple of years ago, if anyone is interested I'll simply post the here you can answer directly on the forum.

Thank you

-When the takeover by Munto Finance was first announced, what was the general sentiment about it? good or bad?

-How was viewed the previous owner of Notts County?

-How long did it take before there was some skepticism about the whole procedure?

-When Notts County was sold again, what was the reaction?

-Today woukd you say people are satisfied with the ownership of the club?

Thanks a lot

Yesterday I was pretty bored, so I thought I would pass some time by listening to the Forest game live on BBC Nottingham (radio). To my delight the Lions took an early lead, although this was dashed when Fatty Reid equalized. Millwall went on to score another, as did Florist - However Millwall can feel hard done they should have had a pen!

Anyway, @Dan got confronted by Billy Davies whom doesn't really know where he's from and why he was taking pictures at a football match!

So strange!

They mentioned it on the radio and I literally said 'Dan'.... Joking to myself that it might be him, it was.

Disgraceful! That 'Dammit Dan' strikes again!

Happy Birthday @Andy Black, hope you have a great day and enjoy your birthday.

@Italian Magpies @Vicarofdibley and @stewartpot will no doubt have wished the same already but it's nice to have you apart of PoN, keep up the good work for promoting our club and building connections! We've all made some great friends from this! You Pies!

Hello @Northants Pie

Welcome to Pride of Nottingham, thanks for taking the time to join us. I really hope you find our site to be useful and interest, as I look forward to seeing you around the site.

Why not consider telling us a little about yourself?

See you around... YP!

I can't make it to the match this Saturday so I have given mine and George my grandson's season tickets to our next door neighbour who has a grandson who wants to go to a football match.

Now here is the rub, my next door neighbour is a lovely chap but is a Fword fan, he just happened to tell me that he was thinking of taking his grandson to Notts because he didn't know how he would be with a big crowd at the ground across the river. As I wasn't using my cards I thought I would offer them to him. He was delighted and thanked me but I wondered if I had done the wrong thing.

On the one hand he is a Fword fan and might bring bad luck but on the other hand they say that the first match you go to you support that team so maybe his grandson will become a Notts fan? If next door neighbour and his grandson enjoy the match they may go again thereby bringing more fans in and I have told him to buy food, drinks, 50/50 ticket and programme etc. so Notts will benefit financially.

Well here we go, another home tie and one of very few during this festive period. Not much for our fans to be 'merry about', however if you like the fact we've made some additional signings (loan) this is about as good as it gets right now. I have to say, I'm going to miss going to away games - they really are something!

Brentford, very overrated in my opinion. They're a good side but without the investment, they'd be a regular side and I still recall what some of their fans said about us not many moons ago! Now look at them!

Uwe Rosler's been making waves in the media, it seems a weekly basis he tells some sort of story regarding his past!

Notts have a little bit of momentum and the potential of having us firmly behind them. If the squad continue to keep trying, giving 100% and play fairly well then I can certainly see the KOP getting right behind the game. It will be interesting which youngsters will feature, I suspect the Callum Ball will - however it's a shame young Murray's been forgotten so quickly.

Ah! What the heck... In Shaun Derry we trust!

COYP! 2-1 Notts for me..... Thoughts?

For a bit of fun as the title says who would be your dream partnership upfront at Notts?? The partnership has to be chosen from players who have played at Meadow Lane during you time supporting Notts.

My choice after much deliberation would have to be Lee Hughes & Danny Allsopp

Mrs. T. has sent an email to the Notts County Mailing list. I won't copy and paste it as it is against their rules and I respect that but the gist of it is to say that a frenzy has been whipped up over people who haven't even applied for the job and about offers that haven't been made and rejections that haven't happened, she says the shortlists only exist in the minds of the media and the club are being judged on these things.

She goes on to say that her mum who but a few weeks ago was fit and well is in a hospice with cancer and by the sounds of it the outlook is bleak and that people need to take stock and give her and the family a bit of support.

I have to say I feel really sorry for her and the family who are having to deal with this awful family tradegy and run a football club and find a new manager at the same time.

There are certainly more important things in this life than the next Notts County manager, my heart goes out to Mrs. T and her family.

This is not easy to do, it might appear so but even in the earliest days - 3+ candidates always stood out. We decided that this month would see if we could attract votes from the community, I have to be honest I was nervous about not getting enough votes or it failing. I'm delighted with how it was received, it shown me a glimpse of what this place can be and what I aim for it to be.

Next month I hope you all will join me in nominating the candidates - We will then vote for the the popular 6 (as we did this month).

You can name up to 3 members - Then myself and cheeky will create a poll for you to vote. Whoever get's mentioned the most will be in the voting stage.

Please take a moment to congratulate PTID1862 - He's been a big boost to our community, as each and everyone who gets involved does but I felt there's been a great amount of care/quality with PTID and he almost received this without voting (as this was recent idea I wanted to try next month).

Thank you to each and every memeber! - especially you PTID! Congrats and please keep up your great attitude around here.

You Pies!

The other night I was curious with regards to how many players we had out of contract, this basically came about after I read a Nottingham Post online article. Gary Liddle stated he focusing his 'playing' and Notts's futures more important than his own, I have to admit I felt this was another Alan Judge situation.

At the end of the year the following players will be out of contract;

Alan Sheehan
Gary Liddle
Manny Smith
Joss Labadie* (Was supposedly offered a contract - No news since)
Yoann Arquin* (Appears to have a rolling 1 year deal)
Enoch Showunmi* (Reportedly set to expire)
Bartosz Białkowski
Dean Leacock
Jamal Campbell-Ryce
Andre Boucaud* (Signed one-and-a-half-year contract back of last season)

I'm quite old fashioned, I think this alarming and perhaps a contributing factor to their performances. I am not making excuses but this is the majority of our senior players, so might be longer and others might not even be listed. However a contract offers stability to a player who's deserving one and I would hope we are not avoiding offering to keep costs down.

Thoughts?

Hi @Malcsmith

Welcome to PoN, thanks for joining I hope you enjoy reading the forum and articles on the website and maybe joining in the conversations.

You are assured of a warm welcome from our friendly gang.

Hi Padrinouk

Welcome to our friendly community, look forward to chatting.

Okay, so I was once asked what PoN started out as in terms of design. Sadly it was believed that we had lost all screenshots, however recently we have had to call upon our camcorder. Looking on the SD card, we've found some pictures that @super_pie took with the camcorder when he was only around 2 have survived.

I really don't class the site being 'opened' however, before last Christmas it was a case of me developing and testing the waters.

I've attached the images below, I couldn't resist the brackets of the title of this thread. I'm actually very pleased that the earlier days have survived and it shows how far the sites come.

It brings back some pretty exciting memories for me, as I spent far to long developing the site - Just required a jump and putting things together.

This week's fixtures:

Huddersfield Town v Burnley

Watford v Yeovil Town

Peterborough United v Wolves

Walsall v Port Vale

Dagenham & Redbridge v Wycombe Wanderers

Northampton Town v Accrington Stanley

Good luck everyone :)

Both are under 21's internationals.

Andy Haworth has gone out on loan to Tamworth.

Notts have signed Callum Ball 6' 3" striker on loan from Derby.

Perhaps @super_ram can give us the low down on him when he gets his internet back up and running.
