The more I think about this, the better it sounds. Maybe it is just me, but it would be a masterstroke of an appointment, IMO
Top quality Coach, can deal with egos, anybody in our squad, has access to the best managerial advice around, will bring on youth, is out of work, is looking to get into management.
Wouldn't be cheap, but would the outlay be worth the result, who knows... I reckon it would work, would it bring back the dwindling numbers, I think it just might.
Thoughts?
FORMER Nottingham Forest and Notts County player Hamza Bencherif is having a trial at Mansfield Town.
The 25-year-old is a free agent and Stags boss Paul Cox said: "He's come in for a little runaround with us and we'll take a good look at him.
"He's got a good background at this level of football.
"He's played at Macclesfield where I thought he was excellent.
Full Article - Here
He's a player I honestly thought would do well with us and without making excuses, I felt the lack of game time, position changes and the situation with managers didn't help - although this is football. He came back from time to time and looked useful but never really cut it at our level and over period of time he slumped again.
I think the point where I felt he wasn't good enough came at Swindon last year, none the less I wish him well at Mansfield.
He's a good player in League Two, much different and if he can rekindle his Macclesfield Town days. He will no doubt be able to make the transition up with a team he's established in ![]()
Hope it works out for both. Thoughts?
Ian Barraclough, an ex Notts player who is now managing in Ireland with Sligo Rovers apparently so at least he has some experience.
He says he would be interested.

This game see's two sets of fans traveling to the ground, something I don't think people should even joke about. As if Notts lost Meadow Lane or couldn't play their, well it would quite saddening.
Coventry are shooting up the league, they're playing pretty good stuff and for a side who's notably had to adapt. I say good on them!
Franck Moussa - A player I would have Sheehan or Liddle man mark.
Notts could do with the win, I feel very optimistic about it and I think it will be a tight game. If Notts can throw themselves into blocking chances or quickly cut them out, I think there's no reason why we couldn't start a little run of wins which would be great for confidence and of course the new manager (whoever that may be).
Hartlepool (FA Cup) - Wolves - Shrewsbury
Possible 4 points from the latter two games and the Hartlepool game should see us progress, if we've learned from last season!

We have just got back from a Thai restaurant, it was first time we have ever tried this kind of food but our son was treating us after we did a spell of looking after the grandchildren while they were away. Since it wasn't our money we thought we would try something different. We entered the restaurant not knowing what to expect, will we have to eat with chopsticks? What will the food be like? Will we like it?
Well I can report it was thoroughly enjoyable, we decided to have a set meal banquet which gave us a taste of a lot of different things and no we didn't have to eat with chopsticks. Phew ![]()
Have you ever eaten out of your comfort zone, what is your favourite food when eating out?
Come on I'm nosey and want to know.

I've been pretty harsh on Hodge, I think it's due to being concerned he might be considered. I am grown up and passionate enough to accept this if it was to be considered - At the end of the day I just want Notts to be doing well.
Hodge - I watched his original interview, I wasn't impressed but I've just watched his Coventry Preview. He conducts himself well, I quite enjoyed hearing his views and I hope he can come a way from this experience knowing he did his best but importantly ended the role with a good record. He spoke about belief and getting the players to preform for each other, it would be nice to see them working as a unit more (especially at the back). I think the defensive line really need to communicate more and cover each other, as mistakes will happen. Steve Hodge really shouldn't be judge! I'll sing extra loudly tomorrow to make up for it.
McMillan - I really like this chap, he's quite interesting. I have to say I haven't watched anything with him, although I do watch the youth teams performances - I don't however listen to the coaches views but I will from now on.
His interview regarding the youth team is a good watch, it's interesting to note he finds battling for 3 real points to be more enjoyable. I'd personally love to be a youth team coach, you can see he's got some good qualities and expresses his thoughts pretty well. He mentioned he told the lads that the ball doesn't get to Danny Haynes quick enough and that he needs to get there, don't take any time and get a shot a way. It was nice to see that he wants to get along with the players also, though I hope whoever becomes our next manager draws a line and acts as the manager (not a friend - It doesn't mean they shouldn't get along, just draw the line and then kicking 'em up the behind won't be an issue).
You Pies! What do you think about Hodge and McMillan?

Gary Rowett: Burton boss says Notts County link is speculation
Chris Kiwomya left Notts on Sunday and Rowett has been tipped to take over at Meadow Lane after guiding the Brewers to sixth place in League Two this term.
But Rowett told BBC Radio Derby: "It's a nice compliment, but you just see it as a little bit of speculation.
"It proves we are doing a decent job here. We are going really well."
Rowett was appointed Burton manager in May 2012 and led the club to the play-offs last season.
The Magpies are looking for their seventh boss since February 2010.

So the speculation begins, Colin slater is reporting on Radio Nottingham that Dean Saunders is seriously interested in the job and is expected to apply.
What's everyone's thoughts on him? I seem to remember he did rather well at Wrexham, would you want him at Notts?

Sat in the hotel room watching some Italian Serie C match before bed. Our flight was delayed but not too badly and we got to our hotel at around half 6. Went out for a pizza which was dissapointingly bad, but I guess it depends where you go.
Tommorow we're doing the Juventus staium tour and Museum tour, and will probably go in the shop, which should be good.
I'll be thinking of Notts and Weymouth tommorow afternoon. Weymouth play their biggest game for a few years tommorow when they host Conference premier high flyers Braintree Town. At stake is a place in Sunday's FA Cup 1st round proper draw, and £12,500 in prize money (massive for a club like us).
Hope everyone back home is well, whats everyone upto this weekend? ![]()

So what our thoughts on this match?
How do you think the players will perform, will they be downcast because of the manager leaving or will they perform because the possibility that a new manager will be watching from the stands?
What team would you put out? It will be interesting to see Steve Hodge's approach to the game.
I think we will win but I hope that doesn't tempt the board to give Hodge a chance, I want to see a "proper" manager come in this time.
What will the attendance be, will a few more come down because CK has gone?
So over to you guys, what are your thoughts?

Chris Kiwomya not only to blame - Notts County CEO
Kiwomya, 43, was sacked as manager following Saturday's defeat by Preston.
The Meadow Lane club is searching for their seventh manager since February 2010, when Rodwell took over as CEO.
"I need to look at myself - I'm as responsible as anyone else for appointing the manager," Rodwell told BBC Radio Nottingham.
"The manager becomes the fall guy in these circumstances, but it's not all down to him.
"We all have to accept responsibility - the board of directors and players. We all need look at ourselves and ask what we could have done better.
"There is a lot of soul searching that needs to go on."
Rodwell said former Ipswich Town, Arsenal and Queens Park Rangers striker Kiwomya was the victim of a range of issues affecting the club since he took over from Keith Curle in February.
"I don't think he got us to the bottom of the league," Rodwell said.
"We probably had too many players out of form at one time and the squad is low on confidence.
"There was a culmination of factors that created the perfect storm."
Rodwell insists their would be no rush to appoint Kiwomya's successor, with former Nottingham Forest and England midfielder Steve Hodge put in temporary charge.
Steve Cotterill has been linked with a return to Meadow Lane, while former Wolves and Doncaster manager Dean Saunders and Danny Wilson, the ex-Swindon and Sheffield Wednesday boss, are also among the favourites to succeed Kiwomya.
"No decision is imminent," Rodwell said.
"My phone has been absolutely red hot with text and voice messages.
"It is still a very attractive club to come to for lots of managers - good manger, experienced managers, those who want an opportunity in the game.
"My goodness, we need to find someone that is going to take us forward - that is a fact."

It was mentioned on the radio these next two home games are 'winnable'. I asked on a certain place what people expected from the next four games after we played Crewe/Wolves. I said 7/8 points but i would be happy 5-6, realistic now I'd take 4. Preston are a side which play quick and direct football, to stop this and counter-act their tactics will be relying on our defense to stand proud and tall. We need to push onto them, making sure they're pushed back in the process.
No games unwinnable, it's how you setup and even average sides can be made the most of. However, I feel last Tuesday was 'winnable' and a game our focus should have been much higher, I know it deserved to be much higher because we cannot rely on this supposed 'home' form which keeps being mentioned.
Preston - Haven't enjoyed a result higher than 2-0 for sometime, I fear this Saturday could be that day. I'm not trying to be negative, just open and honest. They've got at least 4-5 players who are capable of running the show, 3 of which I don't feel should be playing League One football but they're and we will have deal with them.
Notts must start from the back, games will be easier to control if the defense pushed confidence forward. It's easy to say pressure can be taken away by good attacking football, though when you're a side being punished by cheap goals and weak marking, it doesn't spread confidence. It makes you feel like you must always do something going forward, so mistakes are always likely to happen (as they're in defense) but I don't think any Notts fan can see we have been right at the back. It cost us at Carlise - Along with many games before that.
I'm not predicting the score, I think the attendance will be around 3.5k.
Thoughts?

Today I'm up nice and early, I've been up fairly early awhile now. I've been tinkering with something, any ideas what?
Whilst you think, let me tell you a side story. Once upon a time, there was a little community who's members often introduced many fond memories to the person who administrated it. There was one certain user, he liked visiting early in morning! And yet each and every time the administrator came online to see if this early bird had raised, to the sad surprise of the administrator.... TONY HAD NOT VISITED
Oopps.. Keyboard JAMMMED there! Anyway where was I? oh yes.
You can tell Tony's poorly! He doesn't come out to play ![]()
Hopefully my stories distracted you enough from thinking about my question! dammit, what was the point in trying to distract the readers by mentioning it? I'm off back to work.

Anyone else having issue's on Facebook?
I've managed to speak with a couple who also say they're having issues, I can't write a status which is annoying as hell. I can live without updating my wall, I really on say how I feel, think or what's on my mind but I manage a few more important things their.
Those who say FB's better than Myspace, really are eating their words now. No bugs? There's tones these days, there's not a day goes by when something doesn't work properly but this is to be expected with any social media website. I just find it very frustrating that they cannot be bothered to alert users or update them, at least on the once popular Myspace they did.
Hopefully all will be resolved soon. Time to wait ![]()
