I wonder if Jim knew that David McGoldrick would strike the ball into the back of the net. After his pass, McGoldrick rode the challenge from the Alfreton Town player. O’Brien just became a spectator and watched the ball fly. It was one of those moments when it looked like someone knew greatness was about to happen. It was a stunning finish!

Brilliant strike! David McGoldrick couldn’t have struck that any sweeter even if he tried. The moment it left his boot, you could see it was destined for the back of the net.

David McGoldrick’s exceptional performance was delightful to witness. His shot was flawlessly executed and soared precisely to its intended target.

Sublime finish, neatly tucked away! The Alfreton manager’s comments made me laugh.

It was a screamer. The way the space opened up, you just wanted him to have a go at the goal. I look forward to shouting at David to have a crack from outside the box. If this is the end result we can expect, it will be enjoyable.

It’s fantastic how McGoldrick moved beyond the tackle, controlled it, and then unleashed a superb effort on goal. It’s a showstopper for a friendly; you simply can’t beat it.

i knew the moment he shuck off the defender that the ball was going to end up the back of the net, it just had that feeling, you could see he realised it opened up enough for him to have a shot. its an excellent striker.

i am pleased for david mcgoldrick.

What a goal! David McGoldrick's effort was a true display of pure class. I have been impressed by just how good he still is. He doesn’t play like your typical 35-year-old. Both he and Jim O'Brien possess powerful engines within them.

It was a beautiful clean strike, I also think Jim O'Brien knew it was destined for the back of the net just by his stance and appearance of remaining completely frozen.

I did comment somewhere on PoN, when Didzy  first signed, that Notts fans could look forward to expecting the unexpected from last season's Rams top scorer. You are spot on   @TheSkipper,he is not your typical 35 year old.

No cleaner shots will go into the back of the net than this! It was just a thing of beauty for sure!

David McGoldrick is a real force on the field. His ability and technique, combined with his experience and reading of the game, make him a formidable player. Even his goal against Shrewsbury was pure class. It’s a classy strike that showcases his talent. He’s sure to entertain us with his skills.
