Stephen McLaughlin Extension?

Featured Replies

As some will know or may have heard Stephen McLaughlin is set to return to Nottingham Forest, he's reached the duration of his original loan and unless Notts can extend the deal - it would leave us missing a creative player.

Against Scunthorpe United yesterday, it sounded like he had a fairly poor game. Uncle Colin and Dean Yates both highlighted this.

Would you keep him? Should he stay or should he go?

Personally I would extend if we can, he's done well for us.

Discuss....

I would definitely keep him he's been really good for us. I was listening to Radio Nottingham yesterday and during the Fword after match interview with Pearce he was asked about McLaughlin and said he would be making a decision over the weekend and would do what was best for Florist and the player.

In the same programme SD was also asked and he said more or less the same, we are waiting to hear but he was hopeful of a favourable outcome for Notts.

I would say keep him if we can...

I like the matchday squad to have all three of the wingers in, Zeli, Petrasso, and McLaughlin. having one on the bench is great, good to be able to switch things if one is having an off day, without changing the way we play...

I thought he was not all that bad yesterday, he looked unsettled and could it be because it was his last game?

If derry extends I would overlook the last game, as form tells us it would be a good deal. now it all depends on forest and if they will agree to him staying. I hope he does remain here for longer.

just reading the article @notts-joe's put up, you really see the difference and to think about it our wins pretty much came when he first joined us.

i think that speaks volumes!

You're not wrong about that, two assists in his debut for us.

He came here to prove a point and to send a message across the river, now lets hope we can get him to remain for a little longer. Which leaves me to add - Please check out the article Liam mentioned. You can read it - Here.

Well done on the article mate, I do actually think we'll get him for three more months with the added clause of an instant recall if neccesary

It may be out of reach from what some fans are telling me, it looks like forest might want to try him. They have approached villa for grealish, so it possible that they may look closer to home instead.

I do hope we can keep him but we could get another player.

I for one Β think it would be best for clowntyΒ Β and McLaughlin for him to stay at meadow lane, as much I would like to see him back at FOREST I just don't think he's going to offer us much more than what we don't already have.

Well Grealish isn't going to step down, I think Notts have more chance of landing him. ;)

Also, why the clownty? That's not nice isn't @jsrjay.

Its called getting my own back if some one is going to call forest florist then im going to call county clownty simple as.

pretty childish to try and get your own back, rise above it. this is a notts county fan site and some fans will have banter about forest ;)

I forget who said it but Stephen will remain here until the 30th of December.

I am pleased, hopefully we can extend for the remainder of the season after this one runs out.

Great news for us and for the player himself, who wants to be in a team of losers? Much better over this side of the Trent in a team of winners.
