Is Crawley the best "complete" performance by Notts so far?

Featured Replies

Yes, I felt both half's was very entertaining and I didn't think Notts ever stepped off the gas. Crawley looked decent going forward but woeful on goal, any chance we created seemed good enough to test the keeper.

I also feel that the majority of players handled Crawley's bully boy tactics well.

Last night was a fantastic performance and the standard is slowly increasing under Harry Kewell.

In a word yes. We’ve seen flashes of good stuff in other games but last night was a whole game where they never took their foot off the pedal, this result should give them more confidence in their ability, it’s good to see things coming together under Kewell.

Depends what you mean by complete. Tick in the boxes for me were: Both strikers scored, Wingers caused problems, defence was solid and keeper was confident.

I would say though we do lack direction sometimes. I am happy at the moment with the style of football we play but sometimes when were under pressure and hoof it we just put ourselves right under pressure again, this is frustrating to watch as we do all the hard work to get the ball back and just give it straight back to them. Instead of playing it around the back for the forwards to get a chance to bomb forward. I think this is where Vaughan would come in handy at controlling the game and pace of the football being played.

Also we went down to 10 men so we didn't get to celebrate as a team. Other than that though it was close to being a complete performance.

Yes. Northampton away was the first time I'd even seen us look competitive this season, but we played some really decent football last night. You can clearly see the manager's concept already.

AsΒ @samwatto2008Β says though, we still have a habit of giving the ball away again when we're under pressure.

Out of the performances so far yes, there will always be things that can be improved on but Notts deserved a clean sheet against Crawley Town. The match officials decided what they saw and which incidents they didn't but Notts played well to a satisfactory level.

It's the best performance that I have seen this season, I think it sets the standard and shows how well this Notts team can do. I would worry that these types of discussions can lift expectations and lead to inconsistency.

I also wouldn't want to get carried away at this stage.

There's much more required but it's positive and yes, it's improved around Meadow lane. It's a good performance to build on from.Β

It's by far the best performance this season.

Both halfs was excellent and to say how much Notts have been struggling, I felt the players looked solid all over the pitch. I have to give credit to the defenders for installing the confidence again, they have done very well.
