  1. 🎉Happy birthdy, @Fan of Big Tone. I hope you have a wonderful day. 🥳🎊
  2. Our old gaffer (one of our most successful managers) turned 76 today.
  3. Happy Birthday, Neil Warnock! You've successfully graduated from being the grumpy uncle, to the disgruntled grandfather figure that has the tendency of being really naughty. Have a wonderful day! PS. I hope he managed to play some golf, and found some time to yell comments to a Sunday League referee.
  4. Without Alex Bass tonight, we wouldn’t be celebrating the win. They might have come back or even won the game. It’s not that we were bad defensively, but we did rely on luck at times, and Bass was outstanding.
  5. This was a great performance by Notts tonight. All the players deserve to be on the shortlist & it was hard to pick one, so tonight I have chosen a shortlist of 8 out of the 14 players that played tonight. From the goalkeeper, to the defensive unit, to the midfield & attacking unit they were all superb in my opinion. I have decided to award Alex Bass the man of the match award for his second half performance, especially in that last 30 minutes, with two world class saves to prevent Carlisle from coming back into the game. Special mentions for Dan Crowley, Scott Robertson, Alassana Jatta, & Matty Platt for being the pick of the rest. But there wasn't much in it for all the 11 who started tonight.
  6. Here is your shortlist for the Notts man of the match. Matty Platt, Scott Robertson, Alassana Jatta, Dan Crowley, Sam Austin, Alex Bass, Matt Palmer or Jacob Bedeau.
  7. Yeah, as a comfortable as we were at times and even though Crowley got applauded off by the Carlisle fans, Bass was crucial for us especially in the later stages of the match.
  8. Bass is brewing something good????
  9. Happy Birthday, Neil Warnock! Notts County will forever be better off for the success he brought to us.
  10. I would have said Jatta if he had managed to stay on, but since he went off to a standing ovation with his name being chanted, it was great to see. However, Alex Bass deserves it.
  11. After their win over Fleetwood on Saturday, Notts join Port Vale as the only two clubs that have beaten all 91 league clubs in the four tiers.
  12. Those complaining about the infrastructure are short-minded fans who want Notts to live in the stone ages and never be in a position to match more elite clubs that don’t have to worry about the facilities they have because they are state of the art. Every season we would fall further and further behind; nobody ever complains about the pitches, work and they shouldn’t - other areas. It’s just excuses to complain and something to argue is holding us back, when it allows Notts to move forward.
  13. Happy Birthday, @Fan of Big Tone! 🎂🎈🎁 Sorry, I couldn't get @super_ram to dress up and give you your cake. You will have to settle for Superman instead of 'Super Ram'. 😅😂
  14. Wishing you a very happy birthday, junior.I hope Mrs @Fan of Big Tone has recovered enough for you both to have a lovely celebration. But take it easy and don't overdo it at your age.
  15. Happy Birthday, @Fan of Big Tone! How are you planning to celebrate your big day? Hope it’s awesome! Enjoy!
  16. David McGoldrick was everywhere on the pitch. He was crucial in making Notts County work, especially since the team seemed limited in the first half. From what others have said and from what I heard on the radio, I have to agree that Didzy was the key player.
  17. I voted for Platt today for man of the match. He was a colossus at the back for Notts once again and he got up the field to score a strikers goal too. Robertson made a big difference when he came on & bossed the midfield for Notts. Austin was as industrious as ever & got an assist by taking a great pass from Crowley & putting in a great cross for Platt to score his goal. Crowley didn't have his greatest game for Notts but was still orchestrating the Notts chances, & that pass to Austin to put him in was exquisite. Abbott was industrious & could easily have scored but for a great save from the Morecambe goalie Tsaroulla steady at the back & managed some penetrating runs too. McGoldrick worked hard upfront but only got a few opportunities today, but he was at the back to clear off the line in injury time to save a point for Notts, thus demonstrating his commitment all over the field today.
  18. oh, no. you know what this means do you? @Fan of Big Tone will be off on another holiday to celebrate it. 🥲 i hope you do have a wonderful birthday, tone. have a great day! 🎉
  19. Happy Birthday, young man. I hope you are celebrating in style. All the best @Fan of Big Tone.
  20. Here is my player shortlist for Notts man of the match. Abbott, Gordon, Robertson, Jatta, Platt, Palmer, & Austin. Abbott had a good game on the right flank for Notts. Got the assist for providing the cross for Jatta Gordon also provided several crosses from the left flank. Robertson was his steady self in the middle of the field. He got forward when he could. Jatta, led the line well once again, he's dangerous with his head, & nearly got clear of the Chesterfield defence on a few occasions. Platt, Was solid at the back & put in a performance that we are expecting from him. Palmer, A big influence in the centre of midfield once again, & leads by example. Austin, Another steady performance by Sam. He always puts in a shift but seems to do his work unnoticed.
  21. I’d say we had lots of solid performances but no-one stood out for me. I liked Austin today, off the ball he was full of running and generally tidy on the ball too maybe need to see a bit more threat on the ball from him. Gordon had he played the whole match I might have given it to him, Mandeville had a bit of nightmare against him (but he is an attacking midfielder so more questions on the manager about why he played him there). But given Abbott was playing in a RWB role for the first time I think I'll give it to him. If I was being really critical he wasn't enough of a threat going forward, but he did get through at lot of running, supported the play well and defended pretty well.
  22. Yes, I am voting for Alex Bass because I don’t see anyone else playing what I would consider a near-perfect performance. In terms of rating, he would be 9.7, which is exceptional.
  23. David McGoldrick did some very exceptional work, at times when it failed - it was simply due to his age rather than a lack of effort. He was very good. Several times he helped defensively, where his interceptions allowed us to come away with the ball, unfortunately he needed a bit of pace around him, but he was my Man of the Match. He performed very well.
  24. https://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/news/2025/september/08/update--lifeline/ "The hugely successful Lifeline scheme is helping to elevate our performance infrastructure, with the latest donations helping to take our facilities to the next level. This year, two generous donations totalling nearly £150,000 have been made. Around half of this amount is going towards the development of a high-performance gym at our Highfields training base. Currently being constructed off-site after receiving planning permission, the gym will be a transformative addition. Chief executive Joe Palmer said: “The new gym will be a game-changer for us – a Premier-standard facility that will significantly enhance the team’s performance capabilities. “We’re incredibly grateful for Lifeline’s support - and members can be assured that their contributions are being put to excellent use. We’re very excited about this project.” The facility will support both performance and rehabilitation efforts. Palmer added: “It will allow us to be more effective with pre-training activation, ensuring players are properly warmed up, building load and stability into their muscles, helping prevent injuries and enabling more effective training.” Last season, Lifeline funding enabled the installation of handrails in the Derek Pavis Stand, and a further £12,000 contribution will complete that project. The remaining funds from this year’s donations have supported the creation of safe standing areas in the Kop and Jimmy Sirrel Stand, and have kickstarted a programme to replace all 36 turnstiles around the stadium – many of which are now failing. Lifeline has funded the first six replacements, ensuring smoother matchday entry for fans in key areas. With this year’s contributions, Lifeline’s total donations to Notts County have surpassed £4 million since its launch in 1986. Palmer added: “That’s a remarkable achievement and highlights the vital role Lifeline has played in our club over the years. Members should take great pride in their contributions – we thank them sincerely for their loyal support and hope it continues for many years to come.”
  25. Hello, @PieHard. I have to say I like your nick! It's great to see more plays on the word "Pie". Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, I hope you enjoy being a part of our Notts County community. If you wouldn't mind, would you care to tell us a little bit about yourself, such as your background in supporting the mighty pies?
  26. Happy birthday from me too @Fan of Big Tone Hope you have a great day.
  27. Will Jarvis is proving to be a brilliant signing for the club. He has a sharp eye for goal, and with time, he could become an even bigger influence on the pitch. His display against MK Dons was outstanding, and their players could take a lesson or two from him. That goal of his was simply fantastic, and beyond that, his overall performance was stellar.
  28. 76 today! Happy birthday to the man who brought passion and fight to our club. Neil, you’ll always be remembered for the incredible job you did during your time here.
  29. I thought George Abbott played very well and made a big difference, not just in defence but also going forward. His play was superb, especially for the first goal.
  30. Jatta gets my vote. He should have scored twice and was the threat we really needed.
  31. I’ve voted for Gordon he had the beating of Mandeville (who I rate very highly) and put some great crosses into the box.
  32. Tough today because we didn't really have much defending to do, but at the same time none of our attacking play was very good. Probs have to say Crowley but please can we get him closer to the opposition's goal than ours!
  33. Alex Bass deserves to be named Man of the Match. He was superb and kept Carlisle out by being alert to every chance that got past our defence, and there were quite a few. Defensively, Notts was good, but without Bass, this game would have been different.
  34. Here is my shortlist for the Notts man of the match Tsaroulla, Crowley, McGoldrick Robertson, Platt, Austin, Abbott
  35. 16 points
Rewind and Renew Now Stuart's gone what are we to do, We have to pull together and get a new crew. Bye bye Didsey you deserved alot more, Before disappearing out the contract door. Alex goes a floundering off to 'Pompey' Good deal or bad, what would you say. In comes Martin our new Head Coach, A difficult job, how will he approach. Followed by Andy the new number two, Fresh from the England camp with plenty to do. New additions trickle into the squad, One a loanee, the rest not costing a Wad. In this division there's nowhere to hide, Play hard with quality to keep the pride. The season beckons and in August we start, Fans feelings ramping skyward, falling apart. Like Thespians of old on opening night, Remember your lines, don't give us a fright. "WE" are all one Team at the end of the day, Proud of Notts County, what more can we say.
  36. A lot has been posted recently on here about the club spending money on infrastructure rather than players, so some fans will be pleased to hear the Lifeline funds some of that so it doesn’t affect the player budget. 37. Hello, I just wanted to share a quick update on the remaining upgrades from the old version of the site. Thanks to the generous support of our donating members, covering the costs has been much easier. A special thanks to @Michael D Pie., someone whose kindness really shines through, not just because they're generous, but because they genuinely care. Those members who know me well will know I don't like singling people out or giving praise, but Michael has been a significant factor in this process, and it's only right to thank him. The + Create button, which was scrapped from v4, has returned as a custom mod. This adds a level of convenience to starting new discussions, among other content, without the need to go to a specific location. It was such a boost when it arrived as a feature and quickly became something noticeably missed since upgrading. While this is a small update, it should help with content in general and starting discussions as we start to move into the pre-season. As previously noted, the upcoming game features enhanced automation of match discussions. I will be spending time ensuring the full fixtures get added, alongside the help of my wife @cheeky~k8. Mood statuses will be returning, with Terabyte informing me recently that he's wrapping up the finishing touches on his app. Our previous footer will return, but unfortunately the dev working with me on that is currently unable to code at this time. I have enquired about the app which gave subscribers a badge; I am hoping to hear back from the dev with regard to that. The bookmark app, which allowed members to safely store content for future reference, will return momentarily. As should the surveillance system for when discussions need to be moderated to avoid things escalating to a point that they shouldn't. Guest limits across the site will be something I hope will return, but I have no ETA on that. I believe limiting guests and encouraging people to register and join in will only benefit the site, and while I will try to make sure guests can gain value from visiting, I would like to give them more reasons to join and become involved. My focus on newsletters was disrupted due to the sudden announcement that v5 was in beta. While I have tried to send bulk messages from the site, I don't think it warrants the effort. Instead, I will be focusing on the list where members have already approved my sending them the newsletter. At a point, I will make sure a subscription widget is added to encourage more to get involved, but when people join a site, they don't always want to receive emails or notifications, which is a shame because it brings them the community aspects, but it's also understandable that people would not want them. Major news will still go out as per normal, but I will be focusing more on a newsletter and encouraging fans to follow areas of the site in order to get email updates. The latest discussion widget from the old site, unfortunately the dev that had been working on its return isn't able to code right now, therefore I have asked another dev to take it on. There's no ETA on this, but it is of the highest priority. Aside from this, there are little things and some new features that I want to add in time. They are as follows: A proper league system. Additional ways of showing upcoming games, fixtures, and results. Squad page, which is more detailed than what I have created. History and stats. Prediction League system. Enhanced member profile picture gallery (upgraded from previous versions). The PONcast player, featuring the inaugural Notts podcast, will make its comeback at a later date. A member page that displays the total content reach, along with historical records on specific dates, featuring additional statistics for members. I would like to thank all the newcomers, returning, and regular members for their support. It is appreciated, and no effort goes unnoticed by me. I couldn't sing our community's praises any more. Thank you, Chris
  38. It's a very surprising decision; I don't think £300,000 would tempt me in the club's position. I think Alex Bass is more worth retaining because of just how good he is and how good he will be in his prime. Double the speculated amount, and maybe, but announcing a keeper that hasn't really got the experience just adds to the disappointment. I am sure Harry Griffiths has potential and would be perfect as an understudy to someone more experienced. I just feel this adds to the frustration that is felt around our fan base and how disappointing it feels to lose such a good player. I can fully accept that we are in no position to reject good offers, but this just puts further focus on our recruitment, insofar as the outgoings don't really give confidence in the standard of the incomings. Notts needs to replace Bass very wisely; the money gained must be spent on signing good players who bring us the quality we need. @gtownjohnno, we need to replace Alex Bass properly; this fee needs to be used to bring in those key players that Notts still need, because only good arrivals from here on will encourage fans. This is very concerning, considering just how well Bass played for us.
  39. What could be behind the delay to appoint a new head coach? I suspect it could be one of many reasons. One might be due to the restructuring of our footballing department as highlighted in the announcement made regarding the appointment of Dr Rhodes shown below. “The news of Dr Rhodes’ appointment precedes an important update we look forward to sharing with supporters in the near future. “As well as introducing our new coaching team, we’ll be announcing a restructuring of our football department – and explaining how it will help us achieve our ambitious plans for the club.” Any thoughts?
  40. He can create goals; my concerns are his fitness and injury record, but it makes sense as to why we have sought Dr. Rhodes. I mean, it's a very good signing for League Two; he's still good enough to easily be playing in League One, but I am still mindful. I don't want to knock the signing, but I was hoping we would bring in a player that would have a good record with scoring goals in midfield. Ollie could very well get 5-10 goals, which would be great. I guess we will have to see exactly how he fits into our team and how we get the most out of him. He was a very good player for Shrewsbury Town, so maybe he will shine more in League Two. It's a good signing; I am happy.
  41. I'm very exciting about this signing by Notts. Looks like we have signed a leader on the field that has captained teams that he has played for. He's an aggressive deep lying central midfielder that is very good under pressure. Someone that we needed for some time. He's technically skilled with strong range of passing ability. He's good defensively & has the ability to initiate attacks. He' has good ball control & the ability to retain possession & he has a stella work rate too. If he stays fit I think he will be a great asset to the club off the field as well as on. I don't think opposing teams will be able to bully this guy easily.
  42. The club's current owners have been around for almost six seasons now. We all know how much the Reedtz brothers have restored pride in the club, attracted new fans, and invested in all the right areas. What are your thoughts on their recruitment from their first season to now? Obviously, they didn't have much time to work at the beginning with the takeover stalling and how quickly the club had to prepare. We also don't know how many of the signings brought into the club were Neil Ardley's focus or the board's. Some, on paper, look more like Ardley's type of player to me. We can single out where signings have failed and praise where they have succeeded. But, as a whole, I think the club is recruiting a lot more efficiently. I also believe the Reedtz brothers are largely responsible for attracting players who want to play for the club because of the environment they have built and nurtured over time. I await your thoughts on this before I share my own in detail.
  43. His appointment might have made some fans question why he was chosen, and who he was, but by the time he left us, everyone knew. I always felt he would go on to become a great manager. To be as successful as he was in the league just below the Premier League shows how big a mistake it was to fire him. I wonder if he ever regretted turning down Chelsea to stay with us. Happy 76th birthday, Neil Warnock.
  44. One of the best Managers this club ever had. Happy birthday Neil.
  45. The match was very close & with a little more luck Notts could have easily got a result out of this match. For me, the team averaged between 6 & 7 out of 10 today. I think that Dan Crowley was the best Notts player on the pitch with a 7/10 rating. So my vote goes to Dan Crowley.
  46. No doubt in my mind that Alex Bass deserves to be named the Man of the Match, so he gets my vote. Everyone was praising his performance to me, even Chud the photographer. I thought Alex did excellently, and on my journey home I was further communicating with Liam Cole, and he agreed that Bass deserved to be named it. Excellent performance by our keeper, who Staurt Maynard is correct in saying that he's the best in this league.
  47. Alex Bass should easily win the votes from members. I can’t see anyone else coming close. Jatta and Scott Robertson were very good, as were others, but Bass was the standout player.
  48. For me, Dan Crowley stood out. He made a few poor decisions, but he tried throughout the game to get us going. It’s unfortunate that some of the players were not on the same wavelength. David McGoldrick also played well.
  49. i thought george abbott and sam austin where very good, but david mcgoldrick was the workhorse against morecambe. he was involved a lot and had to use his experience to help us, had he not been forced into so much work i think he would have been more effective on goal and therefore noticed more but his performance on the pitch was top draw yesterday.
  50. Platt is my man of the match just ahead of Didzy. Great defensively and scored a goal. He also had a brilliant through ball to Abbot, who nearly scored.
