So the great underdogs Gilbralta have made it two straight competive wins.

After defeating Almenia 1-0 and getting there first competive win Gilbralta headed in to there match against Lichtenstein with confidence.. so much so they defeated Lichtenstein 2-1 in a thriller of an incounter despite going behind after just 15 minutes how ever In the 60th minutes Gilbralta found there back bone and scored 2 goal which they held on to and claimed there second win.

Good morning PoN it’s a bit nippy and dark out there as I write this at 7am.

At last the settee as picked up yesterday by two very jolly chaps from Treetops Hospice, it’s a good well made settee which cost a packet when we bought it so hopefully it does someone some good and has a few more years in it yet.

Today I might go for a run I’ve not been since last Saturday as I’ve not felt 100% but I need to get out running.

Have a great day everyone.

Last night England ended Spain’s 27 unbeaten game streak by beating them 3-2 in what was a thrilling game.

Two from Stirling  one fell Rashford was enough to send the 3 cubs in at half time  with a 3-0 lead.

The youngest England team that had been named by a manager for over 30 years had defied exspectation by leading 3-0 but Spain rallied back in the second half with chance after chance as they found a way back shortly after half time to make it 3-1.

But the young cubs refused to break and held on ,Pickford making a near fatal error as a pass back lead to a mix up but the young lion didn’t give up and held his nerve.

Spain and Ramos started to head hunt and try to frustrate the cubs in to getting booked. they tried everything in there power to get the young cubs to lose there concentration. All to no avail.

But I’m the 97 minutes Ramos made it 3-2 after Spain stringed passes in to the area passing  the ball in to the defender Ramos who slotted it pass the out streatched Pickford who got a finger to it.

The ref blew as the ball went in the net for full time to Ramos and Spains frustration.

The young cubs looked good last night, far from the Croatia game. They played with heart and determination and never gave up.

This is a young team that Southgate wants to mould and patience is what is required.

On the whole a good game and surely the only way is up.

So the checkatrade trophy to some is meaningless trophy but it dose enable Harry to give runs to other players that have not managed to get them selfs the start or returning from injury.

One of the lads to catch the gaffers eye was sam Osbourne the youngest put in a Stella performance and nearly went closer to scoring for the magpies.

After the game Osbourne was one of the players which Harry praised and said he did well.

Could sam be on the cards for a call up or maybe a sub role .? Your thoughts guys and girls?

So Jamie Turnley haa been with Notts for a few months now how would you rate his contribution so far in a Notts shirt.

So John stead for me has been one of the standout players who has helped to turn our season around .. Describe our caption in one word ..!! 6963A529-11B7-4139-A4B5-142074C3EC3C.pngr

Whst team do you think is the best in the world.?

A great Notts player I remember well. Rest in peace Charlie.

Good morning everyone, it’s dark and cloudy at be moment here but still dry.

Thanks for the update on @GrannyPie from yesterday @super_ram I’ve been thinking about her and wondering how she was, pleased to hear she’s improving slowly.

We’ve got another charity coming to look at our settee today, I hope this one takes it, otherwise it’s going outside in the garage, the trouble is that means I’ll have to leave the car out.

A nice thing happened yesterday Mrs. Big Tone has knitted a teddy for a charity table top sale we are doing and she wanted to wrap it in cellophane with a bow and have a name the teddy competition to raise money, we went into a florists and asked if we could buy some but thelady gave us some for nothing and when we told her about the charity she said she’d make up a floral display for us to raffle, what a nice gesture, there are some lovely people out there.

Its supposed to be a nice day today so what are you all up to, let PoN know.

Do you think that the upturn in our playing fortunes is in any way coincidental that Paul Hart came to the club. Do you think Kewell is learning and taking on board what Hart is suggesting and this is why we've started winning?

So after the home tie with Oldham was cancelled yesterday and only the checkatrade match last Tuesday as football I hope the lads don’t loose that edge they seem to have built up and the confidence in the last few games.

Teams who have been in this place befor domenin lg1 some prem and l2 going in to a match with a week off can sometimes affect them I hope it won’t affect the lads.

So I know the come back is still on and we aren’t there yet but which player has impressed you the most in the the turnaround.?

Did anyone see Martin Allen being interviewed on Notts TV’s Team Talk this week, he was very entertaining and talked about his career including his time as Notts manager.

I thought he was great and another manager who was sacked too early.

How do you feel the match day experience could be improved?

Can anyone remember the half time relay race, where kids would run round the pitch in a relay fashion, Notts supporters would take on opposition supporters, I thought it used to be great fun the crowd would get cheering them on and the kids looked as if they loved it, I wonder why they stopped it? Probably something to do with Health and Safety.

How would you improve the match day experience?

So last night Gilbraltar got there first competive win over Armenia in the nations league after a penalty gave them there 5th goals in 22 games. In a game that some thought was a sure thing Gilbraltar shocked the world and Armenia by winning 1-0 with a 22 games played 22 games lost and a 107 goals conceded they finally got there win. From the spot on the 50th minute from there they were forced to defend and defend they did Armenia hit shot after shot but a defiant keeper held the giving the underdogs there first win

So County are back in action this Saturday as they face Bury away from home who’s making the trip to gig lane this weekend.?

Good morning it’s a cloudy, damp start here.

I’ve not got much on today so it’s a good day to clean out my tropical fish and give them a partial water change, I might even have a drive to the pet shop and get some more to replenish the stocks.

If it stays dryish I might have a walk with Mrs. Big Tone later just to get some steps into my Fitbit, I’m really pleased with my keep fit and healthy eating campaign which is keeping my weight down, I am hovering around 11st 7lb as opposed to 13st 7lb two years ago.

Have a great day everyone.

Pride of Nottingham's latest PONcast is now available for fans to listen to.

@Chris and @samwatto2008 discuss several key topics, including the first away win over Macclesfield Town.

They also touch upon the EFL Trophy and if we agree with the competition.

In addition we debate Notts' chairman Alan Hardy's use of twitter and the contrast between his work and personal life. Also they share points on the recruitment this summer and much more.

What do you think about the discussion?

Can Enzio Boldewijn be more defensive minded?

Has the recruitment improved at Notts or does it still require further work?

Is Harry Kewell utilising all his tools?

Have your say on this weeks Pride of Nottingham PONcast.

So the on loan winger from Sheffield's starts may have been reduced but I've got to say he’s turned to Notts impact substitute..!

Since the arrival of Harry, Notts have changed the first team players etc. But one player who hasn’t started many games but has become our impact player Nathan Thomas about the 60th minute up he comes on and for me makes an impact.

Whether be winning the ball or setting up a set pieces or being the assist with a goal or chasing dead balls he just gets on with it and doesn what an impact substitute should do.

So the score board has officially been repaired and was used for the first time this season.

Have you missed the score board?

Do you like the new look?

Are you pleased to see it back?A2019903-0A27-48DE-B1B1-AD4068CCBC98.jpeg

thanks to Dan Westwell for the pic

So those of you who play the prediction league, or who follow me on Twitter may have seen that I was in Bristol over the weekend for the Western league Groundhop.

Basically Groundhop UK arrange several such weekends across the UK every season whereby kick off times are staggered to allow those of us who enjoy ticking off new grounds to attend several new grounds over a weekend.

This weekend just gone it was the turn of the Western league, which for the benefit of those who don't follow lower league stuff is steps 5 & 6 of the non league pyramid.

I thought I'd share a few photos from the 7 (yes seven!) games we attended over the weekend. I'll do each match as a separate post on this thread as it only lets you post a certain number pf photos per post.

Hopefully you like them!

The first stop was on Friday night as Brislington hosted Odd Down from Bath.

The ground was a real beauty, full of character and was almost fully covered which is rare for this level.

The game:

Brislington 2-3 Odd Down (Bath)

(Taylor 41' Biggins 72') (Lloyd 6' 78' 84') Western Premier league (05/10/18)

Crowd 262

Game 1 of the weekends Western league groundhop set a pretty high benchmark, as the visitors edged a 5 goal thriller in front of a bumper crowd.

The visitors hit the front early on when George Lloyd rounded the keeper to slot home, but the hosts levelled it up before the break, with Clarke Taylor pouncing on a defensive error to run through and fire into the bottom corner.

It was an end-to-end game despite a couple of lengthy stoppages for injuries, but the entertainment went up a notch when Connor Biggins scored the goal of the night - hitting one into the top corner from some 30 yards.
But not to be outdone, George Lloyd soon restored parity with an equally impressive effort from the edge of the box, although it may have taken a slight deflection with the way it looped over the keeper.
And Lloyd completed his hattrick 6 minutes from time. The hosts only cleared it as far as Lloyd lurking at the back post, and he did well to hook it in with the ball behind him.
The hosts threw the kitchen sink at them for the last 5 minutes and had a couple of half hearted penalty appeals waived away, but the visitors held on for their third league win of the season which moves them up to 11th, a place and a point behind their opponents, having played 3 games less.

3 games 3 wins, from the bottom of the league to lower mid table. Is it time to start getting excited or should we keep our feet on the ground because they were games we should win.

what are your thoughts?

So the season is very much underway we are now at the pint where we have Saturday 3pm kick and night games which do you prefer.?
