  • Mansfailed have become a bit of a bogey team for us in the last few years I really hope that this game will be a turning point and the see saw starts to tip the other way. I do think we stand a better chance since Evans departed. They have drawn two since he left so hopefully a bit of doubt is starting to creep into the players minds.

    Heart says win.

    Head says draw at best.

The tides kinda turned on both clubs, we had less pressure on us and now it's sort of restored itself back. Mansfield seem to be having teething issues with their new manager (who seems to be a bit of a bizarre appointment). I still think we could surprise fans, as most won't expect a win but on the day it depends how we play. If we had of played better at Field Mill, there's no chance they'd have won us so easily.

For the record I think they have a decent team and are capable of promotion, I've always said this but they're far from a 'complete' squad and there's a lot of weaknesses there that we could exploit.

Likewise, they can make us crumble and I hope for our sakes Richard Duffy plays well because if he does - we tend to do better.

I can see us winning, especially just pinching it late on.

It's most likely going to be tight again on the field, so we just need to encourage and be mindful that they can break teams down. If we work hard and perform well, it would be nice to win them deservedly!

Can anyone explain why some of our so called fans are obsessed with giving Adam Collin abuse? Twitter was full of it again last night, he seems to have become the latest target, I imagine 90% of the people abusing him didn’t even go to the match.

Ok some may think he isn’t the best choice in goal and would prefer a change, I have some sympathy with that but I don’t agree with people tagging him in abusive tweets, can they not give their opinion without it becoming abusive and personal.

Having said that I think football players, managers and owners should steer well clear of twitter it does seem to attract a certain element of keyboard warriors.

I'd like to take this opportunity to wish all of you Notts County-supporting mothers, nanas and guardians a very happy Mother's Day.

When I proper got into Notts of my own volition, in 2006, she came with me to my first game - Notts v Lincoln at ML sometime in the 06-07 season - as nobody else I knew at the time was into Notts which was a really nice gesture from her.

I could go on and on about how great she is and so on but I won't bore you so I'll just keep it simple and say "thank you mum for being you".

Also a special shout out to Stacey, my other half and love of my life, who is a mother to three awesome children (only one is technically still a child though, the other two are "adults" now - though to me anyone under 25 is still a child - showing my age here!).

So yeah, massive respect to all you mothers out there - keep on being awesome!

  • My prediction:

We will be winning 1-0, Noble will come on as sub in the second half and get sent off with ten minutes to go, Showumni will be replaced by Smith to try and preserve the lead, with our backs to the wall FG throw everything at us and we succumb to an injury time goal, two points lost, Twitter goes into meltdown, Noble becomes the new public enemy No.1 thus taking the heat off Collin for a while.

i would hate to lose this game after all they have said about us not being professional.

i cant see noble doing anything and i dont think he should be anywhere near the starting lineup, hes barely earned a place on the bench for me but he could get us moving forward if he performed on the pitch. i think it will be a 2-2 draw and i can see someone like duffy scoring an own goal.

Provided our midfield controls the game I fully expect chances to come.

I don't think the issue recently is down to the finishing, it's how we are performing and working as a team. I think Forest Green should be easier, yet it's down to us about how difficult we make it. I don't want to sound like I am underestimating them, yet I felt they would give us a better game at Meadow Lane and they was very disappointing. I really do believe if we work harder them in the centre of the park chances will come, we just need to avoid over complicating things.

If I predicted the score, I would say it would be close but very winnable.

    My prediction would be 2-1.

This is a picture (courtesy of Dan Westwell) of KN and his assistant at the Florist v Birmingham match yesterday, shortly after the match Cotterill was sacked.

Kev wouldn't would he?

Forest v Birmingham City033.jpg

Alan Hardy has tweeted that he’s signed an order for a new PA system to be installed in the close season. I don’t know about anyone else but whilst not the most exciting news it proves the club is going in the right direction on and off the field. Long overdue in my opinion I can never hear a word of what’s said.

Saturdays aren’t the same without a match, normally I’m either watching the game or listening on the radio so when it’s postponed i’m at a loss.

I’ll probably spend the day trying to sort out my computer, I upgraded to a new operating system and ever since I’ve had problems today would be a good day to finally sort it (or make it worse).

What will you be doing on a non match day?

Mansfield manager and his assistant have resigned.

https://www.mansfieldtown.net/news/2018/february/club-statement/

Forest Green L - FGR won 3 of their last 5 games. All 3 wins came at home. Notts' away form speaks for itself

Mansfield D - Typical non win in the derby

Chesterfield D - TV Cameras, away from home, local derby. Of course we won't win

Wycombe W - Don't rate Wycombe at all tbh

Accrington L - Normal against these and especially with them having about 30 penalties in their last 10 games

Coventry D - Big game, big atmosphere, be a good crowd like 2014-15 game at Meadow Lane

Colchester D - Notts away form again

Yeovil W - Yeovil awful side, if we don't beat them I'm worried

Grimsby D - Play them just at the wrong time yet again as no doubt they'll be out of trouble by late April with the Jolley Roger in charge

Luton D - Luton won't be arsed after picking up the title. We won't beat them. Not enough quality

What are you thoughts on this and what results do you think Notts will pick up from now till the end of the season?

Who was your man of the match for Notts County at Cheltenham Town?

I was just reading @Joe Jones‘s article about Jorge Grant and in it he says his celebration of putting his hands to his ears was to block out the haters.

How on earth can a lad who’s scored 18 goals from midfield have haters? If KN had said at the beginning of the season that he was going to sign a midfielder who would score 18 goals before March we would have been over the moon, what is wrong with these people?

What line-up should Kevin Nolan opt for? What will be the key areas for the Magpies to get a victory? What do you think the final score will be?

Saturday's Fixtures (weather permitting...)

Aston Villa v Queens Park Rangers
Derby County v Fulham
Milton Keynes Dons v Bristol Rovers
Shrewsbury Town v Peterborough United
Cambridge United v Luton Town
Coventry City v Lincoln City

Any games that are postponed due to the bad weather will be treated as void with no points awarded. And no you won't get anything for predicting p-p ;)

It's not been that long since I last watched 'The Blob' but I find myself wanting to see it again, the other week I also watched 'Slither' which is a fun film. Funnily enough, both films contain cast members from The Walking Dead.

I aim to draw up a list of monster films, I may even watch some of the classic hammer films.

So, I hope PON members can throw me some suggestions but also name movies which they have enjoyed themselves. Let get this discussion going! I think it would be fun.

Over recent weeks I've doubted whether my vlogs are good enough anymore.

I feel like they are repetitive and whilst I tried to add new stuff in, in the Stevenage vlog, I don't think it made a difference

How do you guys feel about them?

Are we all ready for the heavy snow and freezing conditions which is forecast for this week?

It’s snowing here at the moment, I hope we don’t get too much, snow is ok when when you are inside and cosy looking out but if you have to travel it can be a nightmare.

Anyone got any snow yet? Are you looking forward to it or dreading it?

I've gone over my quota of attachments allowed but I don't know how to delete them, I can see the list of attachments in my account but as far as I can see there isn't an option to choose which to delete.

Can anyone help? @Chris ? Anyone?

So we're about to head into March and any hopes of dreams of this winter finally being put to bed have been crushed with the arrival of the "Beast from the East" (curse you Ivan Drago)!

As a nation we're not exactly super-equipped for adverse weather and one of the ways this has manifested itself is with a spate of football games across the country being postponed.

Notts have been alright so far, none of our games have been postponed, but there have been loads called off in Scotland (including some in the Premiership) plus a couple in League One, League Two and non-league.

This has made me think - what's the toughest football winter you recall as a Notts fan?

A little bird tells me it’s @super_ram‘s Birthday today, where is the old bugger? I’ve not seen him on here lately, come out, come out, where ever you are.

Seriously, hope you are well Mr. Ram and have a great day.

:birthday:

My agent has been in negotiations with @Chrisand I have decided to re-sign for PoN on loan.

I haven't been around for a while I have changed my name some of you may remember me as Tony Hateley but it got confusing because people thought I might be the real Tony who is sadly no longer with us. So I have changed to Fan of Big Tone which is also my twitter account name. It's good to see some names on here I recognise from my previous time I hope I am welcome back.

Right, off to see what's changed on here.

Birmingham City v Barnsley
Sunderland v Middlesbrough
Northampton Town v Oxford United
Plymouth Argyle v Bradford City
Chesterfield v Swindon Town
Mansfield Town v Coventry City
