A German airline has crashed over the Alps and its feared that there will be no survivors. This happened just 12 hours after our son flew to Germany on the same airline, I thank God it wasn't him and he landed safely but some people have lost parents, sons, daughters, fathers, mothers etc., my heart goes out to them.

We desperately need to win this, I thought the draw against Bradford would have kept the gap more favourable towards us but we are only four points from off the drop zone. It must be on the minds of the players, we didn't even get a shot on target against Bradford City in the first half but we did play okay until it came to the important stage.

Rochdale are ours for the taking and we must.

Please, please, please stick with two upfront and don't let one of them drift back.

For me I'd give Lita and Bajner the positions upfront. 2-0 win is my prediction, part hope and part madness. WE CAN DO IT THOUGH! WE MUST BELIEVE.

What about you? Score predictions folks?

Does anyone know what the budget for the Ladies Team is? What are the wages etc. I'm curious to know how much it costs to run a team at the top level of the women's game. This is bound to have a knock on effect on the budget for the rest of the club as resources are finite.

Given we will be getting a new manager soon, what would you recommend to them as to our best starting line-up. Obviously this'll have to be based on how they have done in matches (unless any of you get time to watch them train too!)

Academy duo take caretaker control of first team matters on a temporary basis...

Notts County can confirm that Acting Academy Manager Paul Hart and Head of Academy Coaching Mick Halsall will take temporary charge of the first team whilst the club looks for a permanent successor to Shaun Derry.

Β

It was announced on Monday that Manager Derry and his Assistant Manager Greg Abbott had parted company with Notts and the process is already underway to find their successor at Meadow Lane.

Β

However, with a crucial Sky Bet League 1 game at home to Scunthorpe United this weekend and the need to maintain the day-to-day running of the first team squad, Hart and Halsall have been asked to take on the role of caretaker management team in the interim period.

Β

The duo have a wealth of managerial and coaching experience, with Hart, a former Notts County player, having held the top job at the likes of Nottingham Forest, Barnsley and Crystal Palace and Halsall one of the most respected youth coaches in the game.

Β

It was felt that their experience would be key to helping guide the first team squad through this important interim period until a new permanent Manager can be found.

Β

The club will be making no further comment on the managerial situation at Meadow Lane until the recruitment process has been completed and an appointment has been made.

Show your faith or lack of it, do you think next season we will be playing league two football?

Explain why.

Just been announced on Radio Red!Β

Said this earlier, but superstition rules here. I've Just read the article on him saying he wants another club.

Anybody got any ideas how we can get hold of him?

@notts-joe we need you to tweet him to try and get the ball rolling.

I believe the loan window shuts on Thursday, do you think Notts should try and get a loan player in for the final run in?

If so what position? Personally I would try and bolster the defence.

This is a great resource for fans to plot the history of their club, just click on the name of the club and follow it's history by scrolling to the right, you will need to be on a desktop computer otherwise there is too much scrolling. You can highlight two or more clubs to compare their histories and the ups and downs over the years. I made the mistake of comparing Notts to Florist, now I am depressed so I wouldn't recommend doing that.

Β

Give it a try.

Well as much as i think it will be the great escape I'm predicting 20th place 49 points

Well it's been decided amongst the team members who's to continue the torch, I'm pleased to say @Captain Sticky has been awarded the Member of the Month for February.

We're delighted with all the contributions made over the past month.

However it's the Captain who stands out, he's joined in like he's been for ages and I am very pleased with the new signing. Keep up the good posts mate, join in with the laughs and thanks!

Special mentions to.....

2nd place, @AmericanPie - Another valuable new arrival to the community, we don't half like our exiles.

3rd place, which is also another exile and previous 'Member of the Month' @DangerousSausage! Well done bud, as always keep it up.

To all the members reading this, chip in with a few posts over the next month and it may be you next! Many thanks to everyone regardless of how involved you're as it all counts.

You Pies!

This match has just been postponed because Swindon Town have six players called up for international duty. I know I have probably bored you with the Swindon model but I think this shows what is possible with (luck and) good judgement.

Massimo Luongo, bought from Tottenham HotspurΒ after loan spell, and Yaser Kasim, signed on a free transfer having been released by then non league Luton Town, have been called up by Australia and Iraq respectively and must now be considered regulars.

Four of our current loan players have been called into the England Under 20 squad which must speak volumes for the experience they are gaining whilst playing in League 1.

I know this is in all probability an exceptional situation but it shows that you do not need to rely on a massive budget or too many older, experienced players. Trouble with the latter is the risk of giving a final pay day to wellΒ knownΒ footballers who areΒ well past their best.

I've found my lucky loom band! Next door neighbours grand daughter made it for me and I wore it during our good run of results then lost it.

It's now back on my wrist, let the good times roll, COYP!!

It's a interesting game, how will we respond to the defeat against Rochdale? We never really get anything from these games and Garry Birtles is hoping that Notts can keep a sense of prospective. Yeah, it's like we all suddenly think we are good enough to outclass and out score one of the most dangerous sides in this division.

MK Dons are sort of in a bubble, yet I don't deny their class because I expected them to fade earlier on and the do their business well. I mean they lost a vital player and replaced him like it was nothing!

I don't see us passing through MK Dons, I sadly think we will opt to hoofing it because it stands more chance of being 'workable' direct but certainly not pretty to watch.

With regards to ourselves, I just hope we don't crumble. We need to prevent them scoring, if we can hold them until half time - If I was a player that would give me a lot of confidence but if we avoid going down by 2-0 goals, perhaps we can keep within the game. It's one I think we will lose and I hate writing off games before the balls even been kicked.

Prediction 2-0 to them.

What do you think? Possible line-ups? Score predictions?

Rumours at the beginning of the week had him down as working notice as his contract was too expensive. Come mid-week he seems to be staying. Straight after that Rodders leave for other opportunities.

One school of thought is that Irvine has been asked to take on more responsibility. Maybe even step into Rodders shoes. If you were him, would you do it?

Would you ask for money above what you were getting before even if the club may have been thinking that was too much?

Would you say yes and keep the pay as before and just be happy with the new job?

Do you think he'll make a good CEO f he does indeed step into that role?

It was great to see Jimmy come on in yesterday's game and by all accounts he looked sharp.

Can he save our season? Are we pinning too much hope on him? Would you start Jimmy in the next game?

What are your thoughts?

To scunthorpe.

I'm fairly new to Notts. This is only my second season following them (I initially started with a half-season ticket last season after I'd moved back to Nottm and thought they could do with the support!)

Β

So my thoughts may not be as insightful as those with more football nous, but this being the internet, I thought I'd share them anyway. Several things occur:

Β

1) Why are we so insistent on playing long-ball football? Is it because we acknowledge we don't have the skill to pass our way into their box? If so, why haven't we got more height up front? Lita must be one very bored man. It became depressingly comical last night to watch the guy forced into jumping for header after header that he has no chance of winning. He needs ground service.

Β

2) Why oh why does Derry keep playing Hollis? OK, he dropped him for a game a few weeks back but seriously, academy product or not, he needs to rediscover his passion. He must be nearly deaf from the number of times he has compelled Roy Carroll to bark at him for not doing his job. Drop him, sell him - either's good for me.

Β

3) I would sooner see us go down with a tight-knit squad that played for one another and for the shirt, than scrap survival on the last day with a team full of loan players who will be gone the very next day and whose commitment is highly questionable.

Β

4) With 3 in mind, why do we continue to bring in all and sundry, only to not play them? It can't give a lot of confidence to our own players that we refuse to play them into experience and form, choosing instead to replace them with someone who'll be here for a few weeks.

Β

5) If it were up to me I would keep Jones, Curtis, Carroll, Mullins, Noble (conditional on him sorting his anger issues out), Muzzie and, at a push, Gary Thompson, and the rest for me can move on. This may be unfair to several players who simply haven't had enough match time for me to judge them, but this presumably speaks for itself.

Β

6) This is where I may show my lack of expertise, but why are we so obsessed with the wide game? Often I see us get near their box, only to swing it out wide, and then sometimes bring it back centrally and send it out to the other wing instead. Would it be so bad if we attempted to pass it into the box, someone making a run behind the defenders? It's almost like our cross-and-head-it-in is our one trick in the bag - which would be fine, if it happened with any regularity.

Β

7) Carroll, oh Carroll. He must be wondering what he did in a previous life to deserve his current team. He's far too good for us, and is being totally hung out to dry by the defense in front of him - particularly (and usually) Hollis.

Β

At this rate, I have to say I won't be renewing my season ticket. I'm tired of the endless squad additions, the lack of passion, the calamitous goals. I can take losing (hey, I chose Notts over Forest, right?) but I just don't think the team are keeping to their part of the deal. Consequently, I may withdraw my part, too.

Β

OK, I'm done!

Good morning everyone, I hope we are all well, yesterday was a particularly sad day for me, no not because Notts lost 4-1 but because it would have been my sons birthday, I still find it hard to believe he isn't here to share a pint and a laugh, three years ago he took his own life whilst going through divorce proceedings.

In contrast today is a happy day because my wife and I are celebrating our 40th Anniversary, we had a celebration meal on Friday with family so today is a quiet day with Mrs H and just chilling and relaxing.

Whatever you are up to have a great day.

As the title says guess how many we are going to concede against franchise MK, just scores and we'll see on sat who is correct

The Lady Pies showed the men how to do it today when they beat Tottenham 4-0 to reach the quarter finals of the FA Cup.

This Saturday's Fixtures:

Cardiff City v Birmingham City

Norwich City v Nottingham Forest

Barnsley v Preston North End

Peterborough United v Chesterfield

Hartlepool United v Mansfield Town

Plymouth Argyle v Newport County

Well I am not holding much hopes to a win, I think it's going to be difficult as they're in form and will most likely be prepared for whatever we decide to throw at them. I mean, we could do well - as always it depends on who turns up and how each player performs. I think with Carroll in form (which I don't think he has been 100% recenlty - Though I don't blame him) things might sway towards our favour especially being at home.

Yet I do feel Chesterfield will want to prove themselves, especially to show there's 'life after Doyle' who was one of the most average players I have seen live.

Chesterfield fans said at the away game he had been performing quite iffy (polite words chosen) and I felt it was to sort of mock us but he didn't, he played quite averagely. Which for me highlights the type of squad they have, though I do expect them to burn out - it's a testament and shows their strengths that they're still doing very well.

If they run at us, gain confidence and we don't defend, I can see them scoring quite a few (at the most 3). I certainly hope not.

I'll take a draw but it would be fantastic to get the win, though I do think 1-1 will be the full time score.

What about you? What do you think of our opposition? Score Prediction?

Tuesday night's Fixtures:

Millwall v Brighton & Hove Albion
