    1. 1. Should Scotland stay or leave the UK?

      • Yep. They deserve to be their own Country in their own right
        6
      • Nope. They are part of the UK and should stay there.

    As it says really.

I'm not Scottish so have no pre-formed opinion here.

On face value I hope they do leave the UK. It will make Whitehall sit up and take note!

  3. Round two... Ding, ding!

This one will not be the same as the last time we played them, the new manager effect will need to be factored in and again they have some very talented players. I do believe our form should see us through this game though, we just need to sort the defence out.

If we can avoid the shaky start, I can see us getting a couple against them.

    0-2 Notts win.

Thoughts? Will you be going? Let us know.. #discuss

  4. Hi everyone.

I am currently doing a university project to design safe standing for football grounds. As part of this I need to find out how popular safe standing would be and what people associate with it.
I have created a short survey which I was hoping you could all fill out to help me. (8 multiple choice questions)

    https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Safe_standing

Before you start the survey I would like to apologise as I have messed up a bit on question 7 and 8, they are supposed to be multiple choice but it only allows one answer. For question 7 if you would have chosen multiple answers please tick "other" and type in the numbers of the answers you would have chosen. for number 8 please choose where you would most like to see a safe standing section.

    Thank you
    William Tuck

  5. With Jordan Cranston rightly being given an 18 month extension and Shaun Harrad looking likely that he'll get the same sort of deal surely we should be giving big Roy another 18 months before someone else does!!

  6. We've signed the young lad Michael Petrasso who we was heavily linked with last season. It's another "emergency" deal which will last for three months, good move by the club!

    Thoughts?

  7. Welcome to @Cllaire 10 and @Piety.I hope you enjoy our site.

  8. so, after a breathtaking and very satisfying win at oakwell, attention turns to our next fixture.  avoiding the obvious expletive pun, we're up against the team that gave Ian "Beefy" Botham his break in football.  surprisingly bottom of the league and have recently relieved their title-winning manager of his duties.

i'll open the links with a hattrick of easy starters - jonathan forte, ian baraclough and karl hawley.

    over to you...

  9. The half time scores-

Colchester United 0- 0 Sheffield United

                                               Oldham Athletic 0 - 2 MK Dons

Preston North End 1- 2 Rotherham United

                                               Stevenage 1 - 0 Crewe Alexandra

                                               Swindon Town 0-0 Crawley Town

So far so good for @BradtheMiller.What about the other scores?

  10. Anyone want to see our assistant when he was slightly lighter, slighter hairier and in goal scoring mood for Hull City??

To be fair the last two are top quality strikes, would be good if Greg himself could talks us through them one day

Also note a certain Roy Carroll performing heroics in goal for Hull in the third video

    Enjoy

  11. I totally missed this, yet despite it being belated - I did want to wish @weymouthPIE many happy returns. I am hopeful Notts and Weymouth will give him an excellent birthday present, I would count Tuesday's win but I think more will come on Saturday.

Hope you had a great day Wey!

Hopefully catch up with you mate sometime during the season.

    PS. I am surprised @super_ram didn't notice!

  12. Our own Gary Thompson on has been recognised by EA in FIFA 15 Ultimate Team by being included in this week's team of the week beside Aguero and Sneider (albeit on the bench).

    http://www.easports.com/fifa/ultimate-team/news/2014/team-of-the-week

This means that there is now a limited version of Thompson in the game where his stats are increased, making him more valuable to trade:

    http://www.futhead.com/15/players/40191/garry-thompson/

Hopefully there will be lots more Notts "in form" cards in the future!

  13. An amateur historian has come out with a theory that King Harold survived the battle of Hastings in 1066, and lived for 40 years as somewhat of a hermit. The crew who found Richard III under the car park in Leicester, have been called in to start the initial investigations.

Now he had three children of his own, and the line of succession would have been Edgar the Aethling, could that line have descended down to modern day...???

In which case, is it at all possible that somebody could end up with a claim on the throne???

I dare say that even if the theory is right, it would never be allowed to be verified.

Imagine Cecil I, of Bognor Regis being King? or Phoebe I of Welwyn Garden City being Queen.....

  14. I've been listening to a lot of pop-punk/punk recently, which includes ska.

I share a very similar taste in music as Cheeky does, I tend to go for a little more "lyrical" but I do like guitars and quick changing music. Anywho... Name two albums which inspired you - In your childhood and as an adult!

    #Go

Childhood - Blink 182 - Enema of State
    >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuuksUxTo1o

I can't think of any recent albums which have inspired me!

  15. Let's see who we get.

Keep it to living if poss (Nelson Mandella would probably cover most people!!!)

My pick...Marco Pierre White. Great at what he does. Cook superbly, motivate people and keep his image going. Very complex, yet unbelievably interesting.

I can't cook, but I watch a lot of cookery stuff with the wife (while eating food from a jar or packet!!!) and he is by far the best out there.

Try watching Australian Masterchef when MPW is on. Superb.

His genuinely brilliant motivational skill is there for all to see. Made me just buy a pasta rolling machine from the net..always threatened to do it. Never did I watched him again. Now I will have a go myself.

  16. I wanted to see if the PoN community could come up with some good questions that they would like us to ask as part of the Meet the Fans feature.

We will have the standard scores and there will be a question on the signing of Michael Petrasso, leaving two questions being needed.

Feel free to post suggestions in this thread

An enjoyable watch (when you know what the final score will be anyway)

  18. Barnsley aren't doing how I thought, although with their financial problems I suspect that plays a lot on the situation they really can't be written off. They've got some players I would love to see at Notts and with it being at their ground, I see them wanting to turn things around.

A lot will depend on which Notts County turns up.

If the side we have seen the past few games, then I honestly believe we will win. If we turn up and stutter, I think it will be a totally different game and I am not expecting another high scoring game.

I'll say 0-1 Notts. Goal by Harrad.

    Thoughts?

  19. #Notts striker Danny Haynes set to move to Crewe on month's loan, maybe even in time for tonight's game v Posh

Probably a good idea. Nowhere near the first team at the mo with massive wages. What a waste. Could have been so good in a different set of circumstances at the beginning with CK playing him everywhere but up front.

  20. Tuesday night's fixtures:
    Watford v Nottingham Forest

    Wolverhampton Wanderers v Middlesbrough

    Crawley Town v Walsall

Milton Keynes Dons v Fleetwood Town

    Accrington Stanley v Hartlepool United

    Newport County v Southend United

  22. Agreed a contract extension until close season. Should have been longer imo. Excellent addition to the squad and genuine pressure for Adams at LB.

Left-back Jordan Cranston has agreed to extend his stay at Meadow Lane...

The former Wolves full-back arrived in September on a short-term deal until January, but the club were keen to secure the 20-year-old's signature.

The attacking full-back has played eight times for the Magpies after arriving from Nuneaton Town earlier this campaign and has been a big part of the team's defensive success.

The number 33 has put pen-to-paper on a new 18-month deal and could feature tonight at Barnsley, as the Magpies seek a tenth game unbeaten.

He told the Official Site: "I didn't really have a good pre-season, but now I'm feeling like I belong and I'm settled.

"It wasn't a hard decision. It's first team football at the end of the day and I'm delighted to have secured my future.

"I've settled in well and now I'm looking to carry on our good form, with a decent result at Barnsley tonight.

"I'd like to thank Greg and the Gaffer, and of course Mick Halsall who helped me get my move originally.

"My target is now to try and stay in the team, get a string of performances, help the lads out and hopefully have a successful season."

Watch the moment Jordan signed his deal on the club's Instagram account.
