Evening all,

I thought I would finally register and join in with some of the discussions which are to be had around PON. I will be making the daunting last away trip on Sunday, hoping that we can retain our league one place.

Good afternoon!

Β

My name is Sam and as you can guess im from London!

Originally a Fulham fan I moved to Nottingham in December and have adopted Notts as my local team.

Really enjoying the ups and downs so far, mainly just downs to be honest.. It seems my arrival has been bad luck!

Β

None the less I am devoted to the cause now, and looking forward to getting a season ticket next year regardless of what happens Sunday!

Β

YOU PIES

Colchester vs Swindon - If Colchester win, they move out of the relegation zone. They are unbeaten in 2. Swindon haven't won in 3. Colchester fought back from 2-1 down to win 3-2 at Fleetwood. I think they'll win this one. 2-1.

Β

Colchester vs PNE - PNE need a win to secure promotion. I can't see Colchester denying them. 0-2.

Β

Crawley vs Coventry. Coventry were well beaten by Crewe at home on Saturday. Crawley were unlucky to lose 4-3 at Peterborough. Both sides aren't in the best of form but Crawley are tough to beat at home. 2-1.

Β

Crewe vs Bradford - Crewe have impressed me. They have a never say die attitude. Bradofrd have nothing to play for but I think they will turn up. Home win though. 2-1.

Β

Gillingham vs Notts County. Notts have not impressed me even after Saturday's home win. Doncaster have packed up and gone on holiday. Gillingham will turn up and will win IMO. 2-1.

Β

Swindon vs Leyton Orient. Orient must be wondering how they got here. Their talented squad must turn up and I think they will. 1-2.

Β

So by my reckoning, these 4 teams will go down:

Β

Leyton Orient

Colchester

Notts County

Yeovil

We are in a bizarre situation that, for us, our last four matches are meaningless. We are fourth: cannot finish higher or lower. It looks like Sheffield United in play offs unless Chesterfield can overhaul them.

Β

We have PrestonΒ  away tomorrow which given our current form is a certain loss although if we win it could mean we avoid MK Dons being in the play offs.

Β

We must finish the season strongly though so have to win our lastΒ two games which are Colchester away next Tuesday and Leyton Orient at home on the last day. If we do this I guess that will help you massively.

Β

Best wishes toΒ all,

Dear professional footballer,

Β

I as a Notts County fan am slightly in awe of your football club and your ability to not be in the bottom five at the end of the season. I understand that, although your season is effectively over, you have your professional pride and will want to end the season on a high note in front of your own fans. However, a meaningless final day win will soon be forgotten. Added to that, such a result would likely relegate us and leave you facing a trip to Crawley next season. Where would you prefer to visit, Nottingham or Crawley? I have put together a helpful guide to help you decide.

Β

Nottingham looks like this.

And Crawley looks like this:

Β

Like a night out? Nottingham has an excellent nightlife, the perfect place for a promotion party next season. And the male-to-female ratio is, shall we say, favourable too.

Β

Maybe you will get to play us at Meadow Lane on Good Friday next season. What a pain! But wait, Nottingham isn't far from Skegness, which looks like this:

Β

Of course, Crawley isn't far from the coast. It's near Brighton, which looks like this:

Of course I have no intention of trying to affect your performance levels. But maybe you should keep these images in mind when you're about to take that penalty kick on Sunday ;)

I was sad to hear of the death of Colin Bloomfield, Radio Derby presenter/commentator who died at the very young age of 33 due to skin cancer.

Β

I'm sure @super_ram will be able to tell us more about Colin.

Β

Condolences to his family, friends and all Rams fans.

Let's talk Ricardo Moniz.

Anyone else encouraged by the style of play Moniz is trying to introduce? At pitch side he never stops giving instructions and has a fan said 'That piece of white paper is magical'.

I'm very optimistic personally! He seems to be grasping English football quite well and his stamp mark was quite clear against Doncaster! I think if we can build the right squad next season, we will be competive and perhaps play the football required to beat teams like MK Dons, perhaps not on a weekly basis but once in awhile (rather than not at all).

What about you? Thoughts? Share your opinion below folks.

I'm going to be driving from Birmingham to Gillingham, so if anyone needs a ride from my neck of the woods, then let me know!

Good Morning everyone, I have heard that the Swindon plan re the use of players is that they plan on playing a near full strength team tonight against Colchester and then an under strength team against Leyton Orient on Sunday.

Remember Spencer Weir-Daley? To be honest it wouldn't be a surprise if you dont, his time at Notts during the Steve Thompson/Charlie Mac days wasn't exactly memorable.

These days he's playing for Corby Town, and he'll probably never have to buy a drink in the town again after he scored twice on Saturday including the winner in their title showdown with Poole to cinch promotion to the conference north/south.

Sadly Weymouth's title challenge collapsed long ago - and it came down to 90 minutes between Poole Town and Corby Town on Saturday. Both sides went into the game on 91 points, and Corby needed to win the game to win the title due to Poole's superior GD.

It was a tight & nervy first half, but Weir-Daley opened the scoring less than a minute into the second half. And two minutes later the steelmen were in dreamland when top scorer Greg Mills converted a penalty to double the lead.

But back came Poole - Luke Roberts netted a brace to haul Poole level and leave it in their hands.

But ten minutes from time Weir-Daley was there again to poke home from close range to seal the title for Corby - to the delight of most of the southern premier league, including Weymouth! (Poole are not exactly popular...)

Congrats to him and his team mates, and indeed the whole club. To achieve what they have with such a small squad and far from the biggest budget in the division is quite remarkable.

Who says the premier league is the best league in the world?

Oh how they have fallen, I guess you could say that it was written that once Ronnie Moore went to Hartlepool that they would end up relegated.

Β

I wonder how the Chairman feels now after sacking him and then watching him go on to work miracles at Hartlepool, more importantly how must their fans feel now.

Saturday's Fixtures:

Fulham v Middlesbrough

Millwall v Derby County

Preston North End v Swindon Town

Rochdale v Milton Keynes Dons

Cheltenham Town v Shrewsbury Town

Southend United v Luton Town

Welcome to PoN @Chris_77.Please join in and enjoy yourself.

Welcome to PoN @theMagpies.Enjoy!

Hello @Harryduncan98, welcome to the Pride of Nottingham mate!

Pleased to see you arrive, I might be able to do an unveiling of the latest signing to the PoN ranks tomorrow if you go to the game. In all seriousness though, I hope you join in and have fun.

Alrighty, another sixpointer and for once it literally is if we can beat Doncaster and Gillingham.

I hate saying it, as every games been labelled this but these two games really are and to be openly honest I am not confident about either. You all know how much I love Notts, unless your fairly new and there's no change in my level of support but I have accepted relegation, as many other fans have.

Doncaster are very unpredictable, decent side on paper but they struggle with consistency.

On a good day, I can see Notts actually winning and I hope we can but I don't see it happening. I would have this labelled as a draw personally but I honestly think they will sink us and for that reason I won't predict the same. I will say, I think it will be almost like Preston but without the positive.

Survival is pinned to the hopes that we can win both, it's not exactly unrealistic but hard to see.

I hope I'm wrong!

What about you? Thoughts on our opposition? Score predictions?

What does being a family club mean? Does anyone else see this being our best recruiting system?

I personally feel quite proud that we have a strong family 'feel' to Meadow Lane and Notts, I know the majority of clubs also respect this because it really is imprinted into the Black & White way of life but some feel it's just a 'gimmick', which I completely disagree with because without being 'family friendly', we would have fewer younger fans and for me this is our best recruiting system.

The club offered free season tickets to certain age groups and the u16's pretty much paid for themselves if you consider the free programme each home game.

Β

Today is our 'Meet the fans'Β  presenters birthday so please join me and wish Cobby a very happy birthday.I hope you have a good one.

So, who do think should be named in the running for the MOTM?

I'll give this two/three days, before I put up a poll. Please name 4-6 members who you feel deserves to be named the 'Member of the Month'. Who do we start with? Please do have a go at naming some of our finest contributors.

If possible as early as possible.

Thanks folks!

The NCFCOSA have raised £1,300 for the NCFC Academy.

Quite the sum to help progress the development of the youngsters progressing through the ranks. It will no doubt help enhance and help the Academy, so this is great news for Notts fans. What do you think?
Β

"Over the course of the 2014/2015 season we have been actively raising funds, just like we did last year for the Notts County Academy. I am pleased to inform fans that the Official Association has managed to raise over £1,300 which are finalizing with the Academy before handing over a check on the 24th of January ahead of our home game against Peterborough United".
