Would you like to see a return of the Anglo Italian Cup? If the Football League looked to restart the competition would you support it?
For me I'd welcome it back provided it was profitable for all teams or at least it covered the flight fee's between away games. I would be more open to this returning, than I would see something like the JPT continuing. I know some fans will be against the idea, you know the build up in fixtures or it's more hassle than it would be worth but I am curious to know regardless.
Have your say..
Forget all this negative "We're going down rubbish" get behind the lads and give them your full support.

I'm really sad things didn't work out with Shaun Derry, and hope he learns from his mistakes and benefits from the experience in the future.
Β
But now we have to consider where we go next. How do we boost our (IMO slim) changes of staying up? I'm not in favour of an appointment from within as this would inevitably mean Paul Hart. Leave him with the youth team, that's what he does best.
Β
The bookies are talking about Gary Johnson and Darren Ferguson. Johnson did wonderful things at Yeovil until it all started to go wrong last season. I'd at least trust him to put together a new squad. I'm not so sure about Ferguson, he's used to spending far more money than he'll have at Notts. Danny Wilson is also on the market and has applied before, but his last successes were a long, long time ago so I'd steer clear.
Β
Anyone else got any ideas?

I was interested to see Ricardo Moniz emerge as the bookies' favourite to be our new manager. I know bookies' favourites come and go, as people lay bets on managers whose odds are already shortening, triggering a chain reaction. But this is genuinely curious - few would have even heard of Moniz, much less have him down as a potential candidate for a potentially fourth-level club. His last job may have ended in failure, but this is still a man with experience of the Premier League and Bundesliga and who won a national championship only recently. So is something going on?
Β
As he managed Red Bull Salzburg to the Austrian title a few years ago and worked for Red Bull in New York, there has been gossip that Red Bull are about to get involved. I hope not: if Red Bull were to get involved, that would be the end of Notts County. It wouldn't make any sense either in view of our bigger neighbours. Coventry strikes me as a far likelier victim of RB - big, ready-made stadium, city starved of success and no rivals.
Β
There might be another clue from Moniz's past though. In 2012-13 he managed Ferencvaros, one of Hungary's biggest clubs. We all remember the outpouring of affection/cringeworthy love-in with about 30,000 Hungarians when Bajner joined the club - maybe one of them is wealthy and is looking to invest?

Why would a guy like Ricardo Moniz want to come to Notts?
Look at objectively. We're rubbish. We're looking down the barrel regarding dropping to the lowest league.
We have no money.
We have a squad that has gone through a season of hoofball (again like most seasons in recent history with Trews managers)
Β
He is a technically gifted manager who could in reality walk into much MUCH bigger jobs in most countries incl the top division in UK imo.
Rumours about Shan as his coach also doing the rounds. WHY?
What is happening that we dont know about? I know if I were him I would be giving it a wide birth and saying "give it to Danny Wilson. He's always bloody mentioned so give him a crack of the whip."
If we don't have a budget for Ferguson or Pressley or Wilson what are we doing talking to a manager like Moniz?
Β
If he does come then it's a tough gig for him. Can you imagine the response when he says to Haydn Hollis I want you to do that thing called pass to your team-mate in front of you???

England won 2-0 in Switzerland. That was their toughest fixture on paper so they are looking good already.
Northern Ireland won 2-1 in Hungary. Roy Carroll was in goal. Gives them a decent shot at qualification.
Scotland were unlucky to lose 2-1 in Germany. Anything out of that game would have been a bonus. Plenty of good signs to build on. Rep. Of Ireland are in the same group. We beat Georgia 2-1 away. Great start.
Wales visit Andorra tomorrow.

Jeremy Clarkson's contract will not be renewed after an "unprovoked physical attack" on a Top Gear producer, the BBC's director general has confirmed.
Tony Hall said he had "not taken this decision lightly" and recognised it would "divide opinion".
However, he added "a line has been crossed" and he "cannot condone what has happened on this occasion".
Clarkson was suspended on 10 March, following what was called a "fracas" with Top Gear producer Oisin Tymon.
The row, which took place in a Yorkshire hotel, was said to have occurred because no hot food was provided for him following a day's filming.
There cannot be one rule for one and one rule for another dictated by either rank, or public relations and commercial considerations
Lord Hall, BBC director general

Notts County announce the appointment of existing board member, Aileen Trew as their new Chief Executive Officer.
Mrs Trew, who has worked closely with all departments in the football club as a Director for the past four years, takes up the new role with immediate effect.ΒChairman, Ray Trew, stated: Γ’β¬ΕAileen has enormous passion for this football club, and as a dedicated member of the Board for the past four years I am confident that she will embrace the challenge in her new role as CEO.ΒMrs Trew, who adds the role of CEO to her directorial duties at the club in the wake of Jim RodwellΓ’β¬β’s departure last week stated Γ’β¬ΕIΓ’β¬β’ve got to start by thanking Jim Rodwell for all that he did during his time at Notts County, I have thoroughly enjoyed working alongside him and wish him well in his new venture.ΒΓ’β¬ΕAs we face new challenges now I want to assure all our supporters that we have a strong team of dedicated, hard-working and forward-thinking employees at all levels, all of whom have something to contribute to the vision of progression that we share.ΒΒΓ’β¬ΕI must at this point clarify one issue that has arisen recently, which is the future of our Commercial Director, Damian Irvine. Despite rumours circulating, I can confirm that Damian will continue in post and both myself and the Chairman are looking forward to working more closely with him as we prepare to expand on commercial activities and re-launch The Bench, his revolutionary vision that was so rightly rewarded with the prestigious Best Club Marketing Campaign accolade at the Football Business Awards last year."ΒΒMrs Trew went onto to add:Γ’β¬ΕI know that I have plenty to work on in taking on this new role of CEO, but with the support of the team around me, and with Ray taking a much more hands-on approach to the club, I know that we can continue to build for the remainder of the season and beyond. Β ΒΒΓ’β¬ΕSo while thereΓ’β¬β’s plenty to be done, on the pitch and off it, I want to assure our supporters that it is business as usual here at Meadow Lane and our focus remains on making Notts County the very best football club that it can be, a vision that I hope you can all share with us.Γ’β¬

Not sure if this is a good move or not? Not positive that the owner and CEO are both from the same household, so to speak, but I'm no businessman. I'm kind of glad Rodwell has now gone, despite not knowing much about him/his job, there were a lot of negative rumours and there's no smoke without fire.Β

As the title says, what have you learned from football?
I will sum it up by saying, since moving here, I now know what having cash is like. I see several sports here for the price of 1 Notts ticket. Morale of the story? I've learned it was expensive even in the 90's.

It's revision time for the Magpies, also to some degree a grudge type match which we have to win. A draw simply wouldn't be good enough here and we must battle like Trojan's and not just defend like them. If we can keep the ball on the ground, playing direct and focus on creating chances of a mixed variety I can see us winning.
Scunthorpe United is the ideal game for a fit Jimmy Spencer, however I still think we should buyed our time with him.
I'm hearing JCR will be fit for Saturday, with me spending the past two days feeling unwell - I haven't really paid this game as much attention but if it's true, we will benefit from his direct approach, provided he releases the ball at the right moment within time.
They're not a bad side, good front pair, some decent midfielders but towards the back is where they're most iffy for me.
Fingers crossed a steady performance will lead to a 2-0 home win, goals coming from Bajner and Hollis.
What are your thoughts on the game? Score predictions? Is this a must win game, i.e can we afford to draw it?
Discuss folks.

I have heard conflicting reports about the Commercial Director Damian Irvine some say his contract has been cancelled as he is on a lot of money and the club can't afford him others say that was the plan but after a meeting it has been decided to keep him and changes at the club are in the air.
Personally I think he has been good for the club "The Bench" initiative was his apparently and I think that has been very good. I suppose time will tell, what are your thoughts? Have you met Damian, is he worth the reputedly high wages?
This is all speculation of course and it will be interesting to see the outcome.

Each season we have our minds set on what we hope for and realistically see happening, but there seems to be a massive difference in determining success.
How do you make this call?
I think to a level some fans are just thickle, as is the nature of the sport nowadays. No direct digs but the judgement of success seems to be based on winning games alone and not much else. Just my view, feel free to disagree.
