  1. I wonder when the last time we went nine games unbeaten was? Any stattos out there?

It's a brilliant run we are on and long may it continue, who'd have thought we'd be in the top six at this stage of the season.

  2. Six year old Grandson talking to his dad.

Dad: "Come on George it's bed time you've got school tomorrow".

    George (enthusiastically): "Wow great!"

Dad: "Do you like school that much?"

George: "No it's called sarcasm Dad."

I thought this was hilarious I'm surprised a six year old even knows what sarcasm is.

  3. Hi @Ross Hill, welcome to Pride of Nottingham. I hope you settle in within the site, there's a bit to take in and get used to but there are several ways of finding things which hopefully adds to your enjoyment of the site. Any problems please do e-mail me :)

  4. This interview is really good, light humour makes it perfects.

Worth the watch on the BBC's page for us - Here..

Notts County manager Shaun Derry and assistant boss Greg Abbott talk about sharing a house, their close working relationship and a special bond which has earned them the nickname of "Mr & Mrs".

BBC East Midlands Today visited the duo prior to Saturday's game against Crawley Town to see if chief executive Jim Rodwell's good-natured jibe is accurate.

Derry and Abbott have been in charge of Notts County for just under a year and last season guided the club to unlikely League One survival.

  5. After his fantastic hat trick on Saturday would you keep Thompson up front for the Barnsley match?

I have a feeling that Shaun and Greg will change tactics for this one, put one up front and adopt a more defensive line up.

  6. Thompson's hat trick on Saturday got me thinking about other hat trick heroes who played for Notts.

I remember Brett Angel scoring a hat trick on his debut after joining Notts on loan as did Jonathon Forte if I remember right.

Lee Hughes probably scored more than one.

Lastly of course I must mention big Tony Hateley (my hero) who in his two spells with Notts scored no more than SIX hat tricks for Notts.

How many hat trick heroes can you name?

  7. And yet another new member.Welcome @Laura M,hope to see you joining in soon.

  10. Walsall have signed midfielder Michael Cain from Leicester on loan.

Not a lot of people know that. :rollonfloorlaughing:

Enjoy the chats I had at half time, brilliant feedback and discussions. Please do see if I snapped you, feel free to tag anyone you know.

  12. I genuinely do not know what to expect from Crawley, the players they have are unpredictable at times but they're a good side with this league.

McLeod can't be written off, he's a striker who can cause trouble and gain that "bit" of luck which poachers seem to have the habit of finding.

If Crawley win, they move up to same amount points on their tally as we do, of course if we draw we move to 18pts and they move to 15pts. However, if we win we move up to 20pts and that might be good enough (depending on results) to get inside the play-offs. Now, I am not getting carried away! It's just a thought, we are only 3 places away from 6th so it's hardly unrealistic.

Now if this was to happen, my Forest supporting @jsrjay will be required to go to see Lynn and Pete at the club in order to purchase a lovely home shirt and away shirt from our club shop.

I expect the game to be lively, I am a little nervous that the break might see the progress we made prior a little shaky. I can't call the game in terms of predictions, I feel we could win being at home but even my heart and head says this will be a 2-2 draw. I suppose I'll have to go with the draw....

    What about you? Predictions? Thoughts?

  13. Just seen notts county tv on FB. Fantastic idea, brilliant for the fans to watch who cant to every game. Peoples points of view ect. Whos is charge? And how can I help?

  14. ahead of our game against the divisions "whippet boys" here we go again for links between the two clubs....

my first player is not one that has played for both clubs, though for me is synonymous with oakwell - martin kuhl.  if if if (etc) he hadnt been sent off what may have happened in the mid-nineties, eh?

This was a very exciting match but who deserves to be named man of the match?

  17. I was thinking about this after the game, and Derry actually mentioned it himself in the post match interview.

Would you rather Notts won 5-3 or 1-0?

Is the entertainment better than a clean sheet?

This could be a question on the next Meet the Fans, who knows

  18. I haven't posted the stats for awhile, here's from last December to January. I usually focus on a complete month, however with our growth I thought it would be interesting show from this period. Last time I spoke about how we could be doing so much better, I am very focused and dedicated to this site (as many of the people who visit are - I am very grateful for the support and those who contribute. Just to Note) and we've taken a huge step forward since many of those who joined us in December. This type of post will be new for some, although I think it's important to show the community things like this.

This is where you see how you impact a site like PoN, it wouldn't work without your interactions. All contributions greatly help the site, so I actively encourage and hope all members will continue to enjoy the site because we will improve a lot more with support and reflect everything for NCFC fans to be proud about. Thank you!

If you click the link below, you will see the massive step forward and although the last time was March 2013. Pride of Nottingham is growing by leaps and bounds, this community is somewhere I am very proud of and it's not about me or my family. It's about us as a group of fans representing our football club! I'll follow up on this within 3 months if the community are interested.

  19. Ched Evans is all over the news after his release from prison. He was convicted of rape which is a horrendous crime. Rumour has it that he will rejoin Sheffield Utd.

My question: Would you take him back if he was a Pie?

  20. Notts went unbeaten last month but who scored pon's  goal of the month?

  21. So, by request, please find the inaugural MAGnet thread.  This is for fun, to brainstorm and remember fondly (or otherwise!) the players, coaches, managers that link the 2 clubs ahead of our games.

This week, its "that non-league lot from somewhere near Gatwick airport", i think it is quite a tricky start to (hopefully) a regular feature.  My offering - and only thought is Dean Leacock.

    There must be more....

  22. I thought that non bench members might like to read the message from Shaun.
