When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.

My choice was beer out of those choices, if gin had been an option I’d have chose that.

I hate beer and lager is awful.

Vodka and whiskey I do like, I like mixing both with various things such as coke and water/ice. Cider is my favourite drink, it's just the fruity task that I enjoy the most.

A field where dreams become reality.

I'm only 17-years-old, my parents allow me to drink at family parts (at home only).

I don't mind beer or cider, not a big lover of vodka.

A year ago lager would have been my instant choice, but unfortunately both lager and beer are now ruled out for me on medical grounds.  I have to follow a gluten free diet, and cider has been my salvation.  Another bonus is that the cheaper the cider, the more I seem to like it!  Forget all these sickly fruit berry varieties, just give me a 2 litre bottle of Aldi's finest Taurus cider for £1.99 any day of the week.  The only problem is going abroad, where cider is often hard to find.  When I'm in that situation, vodka and tonic makes a very passable substitute.

What right do you have to tell me I'm wrong?  You're not my Granddaughter.

@Fan of Big ToneFunny that your favourite is a drink that I absolutely detest. It's one of the drinks @GrannyPie drank years ago with Babycham(Occasionally on Saturday nights) and I always used to moan at her and try to get her to drink something else..I can't stand the smell ,never mind the taste, so she used to torment me and keep  pushing  her glass in front of me.

@super_ram I didn’t used to like gin but when I worked at an advertising agency many moons ago we had to often work late to meet a deadline, the place was full of yuppie women and at the end of the day they would have “little drinkies dahling” there wasn’t any beer so I had what they had which was gin and tonic and I then realised what I’d been missing all these years, it was lovely, I’ve been hooked on G&T ever since dahling. :joker:
