Hurst ruled out

So disappointed but why would Hurst ruin his rep at a sinking ship of a club. So annoyed. He was me number 1

supposedly he wanted more wages than we could afford, no idea if this rumour is true but i doubt notts rejected him.

Posted

So how many actual good managers are left in the running?

Posted

It won't have been Notts that rejected, I can't see that happening even if he wanted something more than what Alan Hardy could offer.

I am worried about who Notts will get now.

@ARLukomski I don't think this would have been Hardy's fault. I reckon he saw the Cheltenham game and couldn't get away quick enough. He obvs thought he couldn't do anything and it would ruin his chances of a job higher up later on down the line.

Very disappointing. My reading of the Post’s story is that Notts have turned him down. If this is true then WHY???

I think it's likely that the agreements didn't go to plan if Paul Hurst has ruled himself out.

I don't see why anyone would attend a meeting for a vacant job that they are likely to refuse themselves outright, Notts must avoid backing themselves into a corner and keep negotiations alive. At least then if room can be met after speaking to everyone else, Alan Hardy can then agree to be a bit more flexible.

I don't know who I would want now, I see people are saying its Kevin Nolan or Neil Ardley that have got the job. I don't believe it will be announced tomorrow, I think it will be Friday or after the weekends game.

It seemed destined to happen, the next manager will probably either please 90% or disappoint 95% of the fan base.

Which will it be? I don't know but Hurst does seem to be a blow.

Posted

If it's not going to be Hurst, then I don't really want any of the others mentioned.

Who are the main runners now? I have no idea who half of the managers linked are but I was hoping someone like Paul Hurst would take on the managerial position.

Posted

It does seem a bit of a blow, if Notts can find a suitable manager with his quality and experience I would be happy. Otherwise I will feel only disappointed because the clubs needs someone who can lead the club forward.

Yeah I sort of knew Sunday night but I always like to hear it officially... so I think right now careful  appointment by Alan is required.

This is typical of this car crash of a club.. Get the fans hopes up just to disappoint them time and time again.. I've been watching Notts since 1975 but I'm just about sick of it now.. Mr Hardy just lock the fookin gates and put us all out of our misery.. FFS.. 😤😤

Looks like Neil Ardley according to radio red earlier today , dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s could announced before the weekend, think he would be ok as above would have preferred Hurst

Posted

Well I wanted Neil Ardley or Paul Hurst, both have their merits and hopefully Ardley can get Notts playing good football.

Wimbledon don't always hoof it, they can play some good stuff.

Importantly they know when to do it and when it won't work for them, so it seems a good call. I am not bothered if it's true but if it isn't, these two seemed the best options in an ideal world.

It seemed like a blow but with Neil Ardley looking likely, it's not that bad. Fingers crossed Ardley can hit the ground running!

I felt a little disappointed and annoyed over this, mostly because I felt the club was destined to opt for someone who we would all dislike. However Neil Ardley isn't the worst appointment. I am content with it.

I would have preferred Paul Hurst but beggars can't be choosers can they?
