What line-up should Neal Ardley opt for? What will be the key areas for the Magpies to get a victory? What do you think the final score will be?

Have your say below, join in with the Pride of Nottingham match discussion.

Interesting. Tranmere's away form is poor and I think it will continue. I don't think they have a good following away from home and I think that will continue. However it is Neal Ardley's first league match at home. Against Mansfield I thought we competed well first half. After speaking to a few Stags fans they were very impressed with David Vaughan and congratulated his effort. I think with a better fire power up front we could become a force. Hemmings and Dennis were signed for their goals and ability up top. On their day they have been described as 'UNSTOPPABLE' so Im hoping these two lineup together this weekend as we need a serious win to lift spirits amongst fans.

Formation: 4-4-2

Lineup: Fitzsimmons / Hawkridge - Ward - Brisley - Evina / Thomas - Vaughan - Hewitt - Campbell / Hemmings - Dennis

Score: Notts County 3 - 1 Tranmere

The reason I have put Campbell on the RM spot is because without a current fit RM we need to replace Boldewjins pace. Campbell is both strong and fast which would scare the Tranmere defence. Is Thomas, Hemmings, Dennis and Campbell could attack as a four then I think we could score a bucket load. Hemmings thrives on fast paced, high tempo football so a slow RM would not be beneficial. Patching did ok against Mansfield but he's a CM. Vaughan should sit bang on the half way line with Hewitt dropping deeper. Vaughan can pick out deadly passes, Hewitt can't.

I am feeling confident ... COYP!!!!!!

Tranmere this season have done well they were the team that shocked me this season in a good way being I believe it’s 7th in league two when they had struggled previously.

But away from home they have struggled this season so that could be a good omen for the magpies.

It’s Neals Ardley first home game and the fans will give him the welcome  to meadow lane.

I’m hoping that plus the fact the players hopefully will now be doing things the Ardley way gives me hope that we could win this.

We need to come out and score first take the game to Tranmere don’t give them time on the ball or allow them to settle.

Stay defensive and sharp Jamie and Ross must continue to work as one and inspire the rest of the defence and between them do the job.

Attacking wise midfield they need to link to the attackers we need two up front not one keep the balls flowing through midfield to stead and Hemmings hopefully.

its going to be difficult.

if the players cant show a good performance beyond 30 minutes and if they cant impress the new manager. well its going to be tranmere that fight for the points, i can see notts sitting back and trying to counter personally. i dont expect a win but a draw would do me.

notts needs points though.

Tranmere Rovers seem a very capable side.

They don't show any fear in taking players on, I think it's important Elliott Ward and Jamie Turley start in the CB positions because they won't shy away from their duties. In the centre of the park we need to be more mindful and certainly creative, if we run into danger - I can see Tranmere easily winning the ball back. I don't feel confident and I think this is mostly down to the unknowns.

I think they're mostly likely going to win and 2-0 seems about right.

I hope I'm wrong because Notts needs the points.

I think Notts need to be stronger and more careful on the ball than they usually are. Tranmere have improved a lot since returning to League two, they look a good side on their day and Neal Ardley makes me unsure. I hope he can get them playing well but I think it will take time.

I never know what to expect these days, with Neal Ardley coming in all I can say is that I am looking ahead to the performance and I hope the match officials don't spoil the game as they tend to do.

The squad is capable of winning but the team always performs differently. I want to see Neal Ardley send a strong message after Mansfield and focus on Notts being more attacking minded. To defend only invites pressure and attacking is the best means to control games.

I think we don't have the players to counter well without running into problems.

So the midfield need to play closely, Nathan Thomas might play well tomorrow but I wouldn't stand him.

I'm going tomorrow, I am not sure what to expect but I hope Notts can win Tranmere.

Notts needs to put on a performance that will get the fans right behind them, if chances come it should be quite even and I would think Jon Stead captaining Notts would make a difference.

Who partners him is important.

I think Tranmere will make it hard for Notts to break them down, playing the ball in the air will probably suite Notts better but chances would be few and far between.

Notts needs to show some real desire to fix the issue.

A relegation battle is not what this club needs, a few wins it could all be different but it will take a lot of hard work. Tranmere seems a well polished team, so Notts might struggle tomorrow.

Stepping foot in Meadow Lane tomorrow will be something I haven't done since the late 80/90's.

I am not too bothered if Notts lose, yes the club needs the points but for me its all about the performance. I would also hope Neal Ardley has the squad playing in a direct way which understands how to break down Tranmere.

I just want to go, watch some sort of attacking football and feel I can write something constructive up afterwards. When there's just negatives I choose not to post mostly for that reason alone.

Notts played well.

Nobody can say the game wasn't exciting and Neal Ardley seems to have done wonders with the defence, early on it looked different and a lot better. Yes there was obvious issues with Dan Jones and Elliott Hewitt (the latter having done okay) but it was a decent team performance. I felt Tranmere looked okay, nothing flash. I feel the tactics and starting line-up greatly helped Notts.

Tranmere wasn't able to dig in as quickly as I assumed they would and Notts controlled things well.

Fantastic win! Yes two goals conceded but if these issues can be resolved with more time. I think it looks brighter for the club, as Ardley seems very hands on from the touch line and the subs was superb in my eyes. They corrected what was going wrong which is the whole reason for having them!

i was impressed.

the goals against could have been defended better but its a team effort, dan jones did not do very well. how he lost the ball by himself i dont know but the conditions would not have helped. i think his boots was not the best choice as he slipped more than once and i guess this knocked his confidence. overall it was good, stead looked eager and vaughan seemed useful.

did anyone notice it was milsom who could not take the ball forward today? he knocked it back quite a few times to ward, turley and fitzsimons.

very pleased with the win.

The win is more important than 3 points, it gives Notts something to build on and the ability to climb further up is there now.

Before this, it looked unlikely but a few wins and things could be much healthier. Fantastic win and performance.
