Must admit that I thought he would last until the summer to be outed. You can't keep slating your players expecting them to respond with a performance, it is more that they definitely won't play for you.

They need to get a footballing manager in now as they do have the forwards to play decent attacking football, but have been stifled by negative tactics and poor signings these last few years. A forward line of Matial, Rashford and Lukaku is decent and with Pogba and Lingard behind them should be capable of producing decent football for whoever temporarily comes in. Back four is still very weak though.

Interesting to see who they have in mind as they have been quick to rule out Wenger.

Think the players forced that. To be fair the players Man Utd have got don't suit Jose's play style. He's too defensive but if they can recruit quick they have a fighting chance with the players and quality they've got to go far in the UCL now.

I'm surprised he wasnt gone at the end of last season, hes not really suited to Manchester united and the players.

I assume @Magic magpie will be happy now.

The same issue happened under Moyes, the signings didn't help and Jose lost the dressing room quite clearly. United needs to go for someone strong minded, what's the chance of them pulling Fergie out of retirement as a mentor to the next manager?

They'll go for a big name but I think this will be a mistake.

It's the right call now but United are a joke.

They arn't likely to go for anyone thats not a big name because that wouldn't be them.

Alex Furguson wasn't a big name and that's partly why they wanted him gone before he won anything.

It should really be down to if they do well as a manager, but we all know thats not generally the case.

He should have stayed until the end of the season, if United have no plans to replace him properly why sack him? It's about time some United fans woke up. They might start support their local team for once.

The club had to part ways but if they don't take someone on now, it would seem a waste. I would assume who they want is in work still?

We don't know what was going on behind the scenes but in the media it just wasn't good enough.

Football's becoming a joke with the hirings and sackings, United should have seen the season out with Jose and I hope they suffer a poor finish as a result of sacking him.

I’m delighted he been sacked it should have happened sooner the 3rd year syndrome had clearly kicked in he sat all the way during games didn’t lookrd like he cared just wanted to pick up his pay check. With that amount of talent he should be doing better at this level it’s not exceptable.
