So for all the older members of PoN (and hopefully some younger ones as well!) Genesis (Phil Collins, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford) have announced this morning their reunion tour!

They've only played a couple of shows in the uk in the past 30 years, as I was lucky to be at both.

Tickets go on pre-sale tomorrow and general sale Friday at 9AM.

And please don’t turn it into a ‘Without Pete G or Hackett they’re crap’ thread. Was a different experience since they left? Totally.

Is that a bad thing? IMO, no. I love both the five piece stuff and the three piece stuff. It’s all about opinions, just like football.

Me, I'm just a lawnmower - you can tell me by the way I walk.

I used to like quite a bit of the Genesis stuff and like Phil Collins' vocals and found that they evolved with the time, a bit like Queen did.

And who can forget the Spitting image video to Land of Confusion!! One of my all time favourite music videos.

I can be corrected but I think my parents enjoyed Genesis, I know Phil Collins often played in their house as I grew up.

I prefer Phil Collins on his own personally, but I do like a lot of their songs.

I'm not sure I would go to watch them, but I am pleased to see fans of theirs get the chance to see them reunite.

i know who phil collins is but not genesis, i should know their music tho.

I thought this was going to be about the console, I actually haven't heard of the band. I'm not sure who Phil Collins is a part from South Park having a go at mocking him. 😆

I'm not a Genesis fan, to put it politely. But for some reason, Spotify thinks I love them. It's forever picking Genesis songs for me, and even if I click past them it's too late - it counts as another "listen" and I'm served up with yet more Genesis songs in my next playlist :( It truly is a land of confusion.

Well, unless the general sale prices are significantly lower than pre sale, I won’t be going.

Big band normally means big ticket price, but when I looked at O2 priority this am you’re looking at £290 for two tickets!!!

Now I know it’s probably the last time they’ll tour, but that’s steep, even for me. I’ve seen them twice so looks like it won’t be a third at that price!

Plus, makes you realise you’re getting old when most replies are who? 😂😂😂

Not really my type of music either.

Reuniting for the fans or another pay day? £290 is an insane amount of money.

Some will pay it if they think it will be their last chance to see Genesis together, and I do like them but I could justify stumping up almost £300 on tickets.

Same here. It probably is the last chance they’ll play together, but at that price, it’s a no from me. I’ll make do with the Blu-ray when it comes out.

I went on this am to try general sale and they were totally sold out. Changing hands for over £1000 already on the ticket tout sites such as get me in and Viagogo.

Bloody ridiculous, but until the government stops it totally it will only get worse and people will buy whole, blocks of tickets and resell them at vastly over priced charges.

Ordinary fans don’t stand a chance unfortunately.

One off isn't that bad, if you've seen them there's little point going unless you fall within the "super fan" category.

Or, extremely well off.

I was never a fan of Genesis, although I really tried :) My father often told me: listen it... listen it... listen it... they make really good music. I listened but in my opinion Genesis have one song only which I could put in my list.

I'm a big fan of both Phil Collins solo and Genesis. I'd love to see them live. Doesn't Collins have medical condition preventing him from drumming?

He might be singing instead, I'm not aware of any medical condition mind.

@allardyces tash yeah his son had to perform drums for him few years ago I believe and he's in frail state currently according to multiple sources. But for the years he's had its not hard to understand why. Its a shame really, I'm. Sure hell still be able to sing

Most definitely he has a medical condition. In the politest of terms, he’s fecked!

His lower spine has crumbled totally due to his position on the drumming stool for all those years and the nerves in his hands are knackered after all the drum vibrations.

His immune system is lower as well and tends to catch everything going. On his last solo tour, Still not dead yet!, he sang from a chair for most of it. His son Nic did the drumming for him. Nic is also going to do the Genesis drumming this time around as Chester Thomson, the Genesis touring drummer has retired now so Nic is the sole drummer.

I’ll be honest and say even though the ticket price was an immediate no, in the cold light of day, it won’t be the same with him in a chair. Collins was a great frontman and made the live shows. I love the music, but if your just a general fan, 10 minutes guitar solos aren’t the best unless you have a frontman to focus on, either singing or drumming.

Heart says love to go. Head says it won’t be the same as the times I’ve seen them before so I’ll stick with the memories and the DVDs!

There’s a handful of Genesis songs that I like, far from the greatest or the most revolutionary band but good at times.

You need to take a mortgage out with some of these reunions.

I don't like seeing fans taken advantage of, as it's a question loyalty or stupidity to stump up such a fee.
