Just when it starts to go well for Notts

I don't know about any other fans here, but this is typical for a Notts fan. There is never a straight forward season, well at least it seems. I don't mind that the season has been suspended, that's not a rant about that. I just feel we have to be one of the most luckiest clubs in the world.

Steady ownership ✔️
Manager doing well ✔️
Players happy and settled ✔️
Club doing well in the league ✔️
Team bang in form ✔️

Then along comes a virus which puts everything on hold, I bet the resident Barrow fan @chipmunx feels somewhat unlucky too.

Ain’t that the truth @allardyces tash. Just when it was feeling good to be a Notts fan again after all the crap from the last few years.
Season will get wiped out and we have to start from scratch again. We’ve made great strides and I hope when life returns to some level of normal, Notts will be ready to go again and get us back into the league.

If it happens, I think could come back and walk the league with the current squad. It's not many miles away from that, I just hope the form can resume where everyone left off.

Just typical that it happens now and not last season... ????

It's a massive shame as we had a real chance of going up through the play-offs and had a potential trip to Wembley in the FA Trophy too. In the unlikely event that the restrictions are dropped and the season restarts in April or May, expect all cup competitions to be tossed aside.

I don't quite agree with @hissingdwarf that we'd be starting from scratch though. We've now got a team that has grown together and made massive strides, and next season we've got to be aiming for top spot, regardless of whether we've still got Barrow to contend with.

Apologies. Didn't mean like that. I meant points total etc... I agree the majority of the team is now secure for the next few years hopefully and I fully expect them to return us to the league pronto!

I'd expect Doyle to go to coach only, Wes Thomas released maybe? Midfield changes? Who knows. But yes we have a strong team going forwards.

It's always the same, it's weird how when things are good you can always expect something to crop up.

Do we have the same luck with relegation? No...

It's like Forest, they'll gain promotion by poor form and having the same goal difference as another club but edge into the playoffs. Whereas we always miss out, I remember Championship clubs fans telling me the same when we got relegated from League One.

It's quite bizarre.

A field where dreams become reality.

It makes things eventful? The season will be remembered long after the Coronavirus goes away which makes thing a little different.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

In one sense it could benefit Notts with some resting, with most injuries coming back when this has all cleared up. Issues are it will be the same for most teams and Notts will still have to play within a fixture congestion after.

I have a good feeling that this squad can resume the form at any point, if the season is ended, I think the players will want to win the league and avoid the middle man i.e the playoffs.
