Favourite England manager.

Terry Venables - He gave me the best time as a England support during Euro 96.

The way he had the Three Lions playing was amazing, the squad was strong and we almost made it. We should have allowed him to take us to the World Cup in 1998, because I feel he would have done better than Glenn Hoddle.

Yep, I would go for El Tel as well.

Sven did much better than what people think.

But Terry Venables breathed new life into England after disappointing campaigns before his reign as manager.

Have we actually had a good manager since Terry Venables? I don't think we have.

If Gareth Southgate does well in this World Cup people may start to warm to him as the manager.

sven is all I can name, he did better than what the uk media thought.

Bobby Robson

Great manager! He was the right man appointed at the wrong time, I feel we would have done much better with him a few years later on.

Gareth Southgate now! I thought he was the wrong man for the job but he's doing well. I think he will need time to work with these players and although the World Cup performances are promising, I think people should be more excited about the Euro's if the F.A keep him as the manager.

Sir Alf Ramsey is my favourite England manager of all time.

I'm warming to Gareth Southgate but the majority I have witnessed manage England have been a complete joke or clueless.

Terry Venables for me also, as I still think we would have won the World Cup in 2002 if we had him in charge. Before him, I liked Bobby Robson a great deal, but he found his best team for the World cup finals in 86 & 90 through injuries and a sending off.

Terry Venables would be my choice.

Gareth Southgate has the ability to become the first English manager to compete with the admiration of the best manager the Three Lions have had for over 25 years.

Venables did a very respectable job during the Euro 96 competition.

Not many England managers have succeed since, Capello and Sven did well but they wasted what was the best generation of footballers this nation has had in a long time. Terry got the best out of players, just look how Gazza lit up the tournament and how much he was missed when Hoddle decided to make an example out of him.

Sir Alf Ramsey,he kept his promise and won us the cup ..My mates and myself  didn't give ourselves a lot of hope but  what a start to our Blackpool holiday in '66.

I also wish Joe Mercers appointment as temporary manager had been made permanent instead of choosing Don Revie

I have not seen many good England managers but Terry Venables is the only one I can think of.

He did do well in the Euro's, with a good team spirit.

Yes, the 80s wasn't the best time for England managers. Terry Venables picked up the prices, brought together a squad and had then playing convincingly. In a group stage tournament, England have never looked better and this is all thanks to El Tel.
