Early thoughts on Enzio Boldewijn?

He seems to split opinions, in the friendlies he struggled against the bigger games (i.e Derby/Leicester) but he played well against Basford. I personally thought he was one of the weakest performers on the field against Colchester, he struggled to do anything notable in the first half and in the second he only looked okay when moving forward with the ball.

I heard a lot of opinions on him yesterday, most of which wasn't flattering.

What do you think he needs to do in order to improve? Do you feel he warrants a starting position?

He deceives to flatter, I think there's a good player there but his form needs work. If he doesn't play better against Cambridge I think he should be dropped.

He needs time but so far I would say he seems a waste of money.

Perhaps he needs a goal to lift his performances?

I don't think he should always run with the ball, he should look to see if an early pass could be on and then decide what to do.

He looks capable of being a good player but so far I have only seen flashes. I don't think he's all that fast, but he should be a good signing.

to be fair pre season wasn't his best and i really thought oh dear .... but after yesterday my mind has change he was clearly comfortable playing league he made some good runs had a good chance and back to defend. so yeah in all not a bad player for me really

There's a reason he's a league 2 winger, I think he'll be inconsistent through-out the season but I still think he can be a very good player for us. He showed yesterday little bursts of pace and skill, in a team where no-one really got going. He scored ten goals, provided numerous assists last season for Crawley and looking at our other options I wouldn't say Alessandra/Hawkridge are better. Persist with him for now!

I think he will come good, he just needs to settle in and maybe as fans we can encourage that?

He had a close shot put just wide I think he'll train on that and will be good further into the season.

I think this is spot on.

He will come into his stride as the season progresses, dropping him to the bench will kill his confidence.

Poor first home league debut but the whole squad was off, they need to work more as a team.

He seems like a player that will be hit and miss, yet mostly miss. If he can help Notts and improve it's a good thing but I understand why Crawley snapped our hands off.

i think he's got pace, but yet something missing. I do remember Crawley fans saying he was often gone missing from games. Give him a chance though eh.

he looks like a player that a team carries, i know its early but he dont look very good so anything is an improvement with him

Summed up perfectly @liampie.

Lets face it he's Jorge Grant.

Oh dear, I was rushing posting and missed off "not Jorge Grant".

i.e he's not a player we can carry.

I thought there was something there to be optimistic about, he made some good runs and crosses and also tracked back well to defend, was I watching a different game?

Feel he could be a big player for us, many raved about Thomas but in my opinion didn’t rate him and thought Enzio looked our most dangerous player WHEN given the ball which was too seldom for me. Thought playing in front of Toots they would dominate the right side but even Toots seemed off and unwilling to give and go which we have become accustomed too

He may be one of those slow starters but Kevin Nolan will need to get the best out of him. Give him several games then review what he does, we need him to come good.

Urm..... he looks better than Adam Campbell  😎

Early days but the boy looks short on confidence. I thought as the game went on he seemed to feel more part of the team and when that happens vrom the off I am sure he will be ok.

Hope he’s not a flop, we’ve had our share of those !
