I saw a picture of the above game where Notts player Gordon was hugging the Chesterfield player Gordon at the end of the game, I think it was @Dan’s picture. Are the two Gordon’s related does anyone know?2 points

Oh Dear Oh Dear Oh Dear. Poor Choice it Doesn't Matter what the Guy has done at Club Level, being a National Side Coach is a whole Different Ball Game. And Coaching the England Team and Being German is Going to throw up a load of Unique Problems, some of which I've touched on, on here. If like it's been stated Tuchel isn't a Yes Man, then he's Not Going to last long with the FA, plus the Fact one of his Major Problems at Chelsea was he couldn't Handle Prima Donna Players, then he's going to have his work cut with some of England's so called Stars. Eddie Howe should have been Chosen. It's a Dark Day when an Englishman isn't picked to lead his Country. Sean Dyche is another Manager who like Howe had taken an unfancied Team (in his case Burnley) up into the Heady Heights of the Premier League and like Howe Knows how to Mold Players Together and Get Them Playing As A Team, something the Present England Team are in Dire Need Of. I await the Media Headlines when Tuchel's England Team Suffer It's First Defeat.2 points

Seems a bit of a strange appointment to me given his talent for falling out with people. At least no one can accuse the FA of appointing a "yes man" this time! It's also a bit sad that we're having to appoint from abroad again. Have English coaches so little to offer? As coaching the England team is very different from being a club manager, I'd have been happy with a "no name" coach who knows the setup and can organise and inspire the players. Whether Carsley would have been an option I don't know. But of course I hope TT does well!2 points

I have seen comments about it being his cousin. I can't confirm, but I doubt he would randomly hug someone. Unless they have played together before? I don't know, but I have seen people on Facebook state it's his cousin.2 points

Kellan Gordon has a younger brother Kaide Gordon who plays for Liverpool, but is currently being loaned to Norwich City. Lewis Gordon hails from London. As far as I can tell he's no relation to Kellan or Kaide. Source Wiki.2 points

If a coach such as Luke Williams or Stuart Maynard have the chance to work with the best players in the land, whose to say that a coach such as those two couldn't manage England effectively. Gareth Southgate was relatively unknown as a Manager. The only Club side he managed were Middlesbrough for 3 years, before he managed the England under 21s after being out of football for four years after being sacked by Middlesbrough.1 point

Yeah good draw that, given the proximity Alfreton will be able to easily bring a good number of fans. We seem to usually get the better of them in friendlies, but this will be a totally different type of game, I'm looking forward to it!1 point

The last thing they need is yet another nostalgia appointment. He'd probably be tempted but should leave his legacy alone.1 point

An interesting tie could be Notts v Horsham Notts County (A) - FAC1 - Horsham Football Club WWW.HORSHAMFC.CO.UK Were any of our older PoN members at that match?1 point

i think both teams was not quite the best defensively at times, our goal is poor to concede from the chesterfield point of view but from ours a well worked goal. the opener was a fluky deflection, i dont even think paddy madden knew much about it. of course, he will probably say he flicked it on but it landed very fortunate for him to finish. its a shame alex bass had committed himself but i dont blame him. either team could have won, but i do think a draw was fair and chesterfield will feel they threw it away which they did. their fans on facebook are calling us a dirty team, i have seen @Dans pictures and the other photographer, i was at the game and rewatched the highlights. i dont think we were the dirty team, unlike them at times. the amount of times they were grabbing shirts to the point they could have put it on themselves.1 point

watch it be somewhere like york city, which would not be the worst draw but i would hope to avoid chesterfield.1 point

We will be ball number 34! There are 80 teams in the round, 32 of the teams are from Non-League, 48 from the EFL so the odds will tip slightly in favour of drawing another EFL side… I’m hoping we’ll avoid a team in our league as we play them twice already. And any trip to top league 1 side will be tough. Big no’s to Wrexham and Shrewsbury for me, I’m fed up of losing to them!1 point

I don't really mind who we draw. I hope it will be a team that we don't have to worry much about. I know teams lift themselves for the cup, but if we draw a team where fielding some of our youngsters can give them experience and also help us make the next round, it seems like a win-win to me.1 point

I just want Notts to have a chance to get to the third round to meet one of the big boys at home, with live TV cameras & a big pay day for Notts. So a non league team at home please, but just beware of the banana skin.1 point

Personally, I hope Sochaux can resolve this issue. I hate seeing football clubs suffer.1 point

I hope Sochaux can survive their financial issues. It is terrible to see so many clubs suffering.1 point

I am a Clash fan; that is my favourite band to listen to. I grew up listening to them; all of my friends liked them and for the time they were the coolest act to follow. I do like Queen also. I think Freddie Mercury had one of the best voices in music, closely followed by Morrissey.1 point

I prefer easy-to-listen-to music. I think the 80s had some great songs and, while I could get through a playlist with songs from that period, I find myself more of a fan of the 70s, with the rock and roll styles being a bit easier to enjoy. I do not like much modern music. @super_ram, I remember my mum watching Sharpe on ITV when I was a little child. The song reminds me of those days. If I were to name a few preferred artists, I would say Frank Turner, Elton John, The Hollies, Fifth Avenue, Jason Mraz, Coldplay and Michael Bublé.1 point

This would be an amazing coup for us. McGoldrick is still one of the best strikers in the country and he would be a huge asset for us. He has skill, pace, power and finishing ability that none of our current strikers have. He would create and score goals for fun and he would inspire our team to play better. He would also bring back some nostalgia and excitement to our fans who remember him from his first spell at Notts.1 point

I like mainly pop-punk, punk-rock and ska punk music from the 90s-early 00s. My favourite is Bowling for soup, which me & chris also got my youngest daughter into.1 point

I listen to Peter Gabriel and I love his eclectic sound and creative videos. He is one of the most versatile artists of the 80s, with songs like Sledgehammer, Shock the Monkey, and In Your Eyes. I enjoy watching his music on YouTube Music, which offers access to music videos, live performances, interviews, documentaries, and more. I listen to Pink Floyd and I love their progressive rock sound and conceptual albums. They are one of the most innovative bands of the 70s, with works like The Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall, and Wish You Were Here. I enjoy listening to their music on Spotify, which offers access to millions of songs and podcasts on demand. Spotify offers a convenient and affordable way to access music, as it only requires an internet connection and a subscription fee or an ad-supported account. Spotify also allows me to discover new music and artists based on my listening history and preferences, as well as to share my playlists and opinions with other users.1 point

It’s interesting to see where Notts’ income comes from. Does anyone know if Notts might receive money from Sky for their TV coverage or are we just a BT Sports team now?1 point

Hello, @LesBradd4England. As a casual poster myself, I don't think your time would be wasted in you were to post your thoughts as much or as often as you would like, You would be surprised by the level of good interactions. For now, welcome to PON.1 point

I like lots of music mainly 80's as most of my childhood memories are from my holidays with my grandparents in loud pubs with this type of music on.1 point

I am an avid Don Henley admirer, with Tom Petty following closely behind as one of my favourites. Alongside Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Elvis, and countless other artists that I could mention. During my time living in the UK, I frequently attended concerts. If seeing the big names was out of my budget, or if I simply favoured a more intimate setting, I would take pleasure in hearing Irish folk bands perform at the Shirland Miners Welfare.1 point

Yes, they weren’t biased towards us compared to other teams and said plenty about Notts. You could say they didn’t do the same for Wrexham, who did receive some praise at times when it wasn’t truly deserved, but that’s to be expected.1 point

I would hope that Jodi Jones would sign for Notts County. He suits our playing style and has the ability to excel. Notts County could help him revive his career even further. While many clubs may be interested in him, Meadow Lane is a special place when you make a connection to it. I believe Jodi has established that connection.1 point

Recently, I’ve been spending some time doing gardening and other tasks around the house. It’s been a great way to stay active and productive. Of course, I’ve also had some downtime where I’ve enjoyed watching TV and browsing online. Tomorrow, I’m excited to be driving to York to see some friends that I haven’t seen in years. It will be great to catch up and spend some time together.1 point

I’m happy with the players who have been offered contracts. We might see a couple of them move on, but I hope I’m wrong. As for the released players, I thought Frank Vincent might have a future with the club, but like Ed Francis, he might not fit what Luke Williams is looking for in his players.1 point
-
Jodi Jones possesses the talent and skill to make a significant contribution to Notts and it would be wonderful if he were to pledge his future to the club for the long term. His performances on the pitch have demonstrated his value to the team and retaining him would be a major boost for Notts.1 point

He appears to possess the skill and quality, and is young and eager. It remains to be seen if he will sign, but based on the videos shared by @liampie, I would be pleased with the signing.1 point

Sam Pearson appears to be a promising player who is on the rise. He seems capable of scoring goals and could provide depth and potentially earn a starting spot based on his form. Like Sam Austin, he could be a valuable signing if it happens.1 point

It's always saddening to learn about the passing of someone famous, especially if they had touched your life personally. Mick Vinter has touched the life of many football fans, not just Notts. He was a very good player.1 point
