Gateshead passing goal

Featured Replies

I've read comments from "purest football fans" that claim the goal's boring because there are too many passes. Considering football these days is a lot more fluid, quicker and far more skilful - I find it quite dumbfounding that anyone could consider this excellent passing phrase dull.

You have to appreciate the control, build-up and way that the passing breaks down the opposition.

Some of those quicker passes could easily go wrong, yet each player seems to be on the same wavelength and for every player to get a touch. It's incredible! I remember when Notts did a similar thing, but I don't recall us getting every player on the ball. It had the same effect, such a stylish and well-worked team goal.

The goal was the result of an excellent passing move. The ball was played into space, and as they advanced up the pitch, more space opened up, leading to the goal. While the goal itself may not have been spectacular, the quality of the passes leading up to it elevates it.

It’s just like watching Notts, who in turn are just like watching Juve. I wonder if Gateshead fans sing β€œIt’s just like watching County”.Β :wink:Β ????

The goal was outstanding, with the build-up being a key part of its brilliance. I don’t understand the criticism. If a team can perform and score like this, it demonstrates their potential.

What some individuals fail to recognise is that what appears simple isn’t always so. A beautifully executed pass that splits the opposition and accelerates just at the right moment as it crosses the halfway line can be deceiving. It’s likely a bit too fast to keep up with!
