  1. This is a grand gesture by the club, after some silly comments and hopefully it bridges some sort of togetherness back. @Melvyn Watson doing what he does best right here, such a lovely and caring fan.

Ps. I would have been tempted to instruct them to be given to younger fans myself but it's still a great gesture towards the loyal supporters.

I hope the PON police can tell Harry Kewell not to moan, he's totally side tracked the defeat in classic management style.

Not the best comments he could have made but give him time, he can't be too critical because it will only make his job harder.

Not the best comments but I understand that he's trying to shield his players.

  3. Despite everything I still like going to meadow lane. One it’s the family time and  spending time with people I get on with.

i still get upset when we loose like everyone else but the thought it could turn round and see football like season and winning the game keeps me going as well.

I said to @Chris I wish there was a home game every other week Cause some times we play 2 away games then Home  maybe a few more night games

I love the team match day for me is fantastic cause it’s shared with family.

  8. Good morning it’s dry at the moment but rain is forecast.

We are going away tomorrow in our camper van so today will be a day of getting it stocked up with everything we need for a week or so living in it.

We’ve got two rabbits and a cat so the rabbits have got to be taken to our sons house for their holiday and the will be taken to the cattery which must seem like a prison sentence to her. Oh yes and I must get one of those holiday fish feeding blocks for the tropical fish.

So that will all keep me busy today, what are you up to?

  10. Day by day this club is getting worse off. Alan Hardy came in and began doing wonders for but him being on twitter is the biggest mistake he has made. Constantly causes divides between the Notts fans, his false promises are happening far too much. There has been no statement of Dougie Pullen leaving the club or any of the directors leaving. We have gone from bringing in young teams and letting them shoot and play in goal to having the owners son take the spotlight. The whole feel of a family club seems to be eradicating day by day. Behind the scenes our club is an utter shambles.

  11. First of all welcome to the Pride of Nottingham Community, we are really pleased that you have joined us and we'd love to know a bit more about you, please come and introduce yourself, you will be made most welcome.

The players are not playing like a team should, Hemmings should have scored but how he got the shot away in the first place does show how hard it was. I wonder how long Notts will keep losing, things need to change quickly before the gap grows.

      5-1 isn't acceptable but I have faith.

    3. Natty

The record books say that Exeter won 5-1 and that's the only stat that really matters. But those who didn't witness this game may have seen the result and jumped to a slightly unfair conclusion. Notts were obviously well beaten on the day, but this performance wasn't as poor as the scoreline suggests, and in fact the two games under Kewell have produced hugely better performances than we saw against Yeovil, FGR and Lincoln. Let me state right here that Fitzsimons was not at fault with any of the goals, and made a couple of good saves in the later stages to keep the score down.

Exeter are not the passing team they were under Paul Tisdale.  They now concentrate on hitting long balls down the channels, using the physical presence of Stockley to lead the line (although, for a big strong traditional lower league centre forward, he does have a tendency to whinge and whine at referees over the slightest contact from a big strong traditional lower league centre half !!  They don't like it up 'em!!)  If he put as much effort into his job as he did into complaining, perhaps he'd be playing at a higher level.

For the first 25mins Notts were the better side, and might've easily taken the lead. Boldewijn, Hemmings and Dennis all fired narrowly wide, and Hemmings also hit the post. They were comfortable at the back, easily dealing with the long ball, and playing it around between themselves. But then a set piece proved their undoing. The corner was played to the far post and the scorer rose totally unchallenged. Fitz got a hand to the header but couldn't keep it out.  A minute later it was two. Notts still in disarray from the first one, and nobody cutting out a low cross to the far post.

But Notts' heads didn't drop. They rallied and fought back. Boldewijn's great strike just before the break put them right back in the game. They went in 2-1 down but Exeter had only had 3 attempts at goal, compared to 5 or 6 for Notts.

Another corner after the break, and the ball was inexplicably handled by Oxlade-Chamberlain. Penalty.

Notts now had to change things and chase the game, throwing men forward. Stead and Patching were introduced and gave Notts fresh impetus. Stead hit the side netting, and he, Patching and Alessandra all had shots charged down. An attempted cross from Milsom was clearly handled inside the box but the referee waved it away, only for Exeter to go straight up the other end and score their 4th.....which left Kewell incensed and resulted in him being sent from the dugout.  There's no excuse for him overstepping the mark but he was right.

The ref recovered his eyesight to see another handball...this time by Boldewijn....but they missed that one.

Notts kept going and the home keeper was forced into a superb save to deny Boldewijn from 15 yards.  Then another quick break exploiting the gaps Notts had left at the back gave Exeter a fifth. A mixture of fatigue and defensive gambles in chasing the game.

If this game had finished 3-1 or 3-2 it would've been a fairer reflection on the play. 5-1 is a touch harsh on Notts. But that's how it is when you're bottom of the league.

But the football is definitely improving. As fitness improves and key players return from injury I'm certain Kewell will turn it around.

Terrible performance, worse than under Kevin Nolan.

If any of the fans who wanted KN out attend and said Kewell had them playing better, well it would prove how deluded some can be.

  14. Even now at 33 I love the arcades .. from the 2p slider to the arcade shoot em ups to the driving games I love them all could spend hours in them. I love playing deal or no deal the horses VR the grown up stuff.

  15. I’ve just seen that The Southbank pub is hosting an evening with Kevin Nolan in a couple of weeks time, should be interesting to hear what he has to say.

  16. Good morning PoN, another day dawns and we’re all still here, the sky hasn’t fallen in despite the result yesterday.

It’s a nice bright start here, food shopping is on the agenda for us, remember the old days when shops were shut on Sunday? How did we cope? Lidl is our favourite shop we’ve saved a fortune since we started going there.

This afternoon if it stays dry I’m going to bbq some pork steaks with a couple of sausages and have them with salad for our dinner, can I call it dinner or is it tea at 5-6pm?

Anyway hope you all have a great day, keep the posts coming let us know what you’re up to.

  17. Which of the players do you feel can feature in the re-grouping of Harry Kewell's squad?

Players such as Hewitt, Jones, Duffy, Thomas have all been players who have started the season out of form. Most have not worked hard enough and I think a lot of the time it's the simplest things that they fail to do.

    Examples..

Jones struggles to defend when he commits to going too far forward.
Hewitt fails to make those easy passes to a nearby player
Duffy switches off and leaves things to others to deal with
Thomas looks okay ran running at players but useless otherwise

Notts should expected better and more from some of the squad, its those players who let the team down.

  18. Good morning it’s a big day for me and the wife, we are going to Derby to attend a course to become volunteer leaders for our SoBS support group for people who are bereaved through suicide.

We’ve been attending the group since our son took his own life in 2012, it has been a great help to talk to others in a similar position and when the last leader had to step down we decided to help and are now attending the course.

Its an all day affair so I won’t be around today to come on here or listen to Notts on the radio, I may get some of the second half if I’m lucky.

Its going to be a long day so wish me luck.

Please let us know what plans you have for today.

  19. So here we go in just over 12 hours our boys take to the pitch away at Exeter.

It’s been a awful few months I don’t need to remind everyone of that.

But now it’s time to get behind the gaffer and our magpies the time for crying over spilt milk is done the time for unity is now .. I’ve said we win together we loose together so tomorrow and next week next month anytime  we need to unite and show the boys no matter what we are the black and white army ..

So from now on it’s a new dawn wear your shirts with pride and tomorrow cheer the boys and the gaffer on ... because right now the players need to hear us they are broken as we are .. no more negativity about the past .. that’s gone we live we learn  and maybe just maybe all roads lead to Wembley to put things right seek redemption or maybe you never know promotion to league one ... we are the black and white army and we fly together...!!!!

    The new dawn starts here..!!!!

    BELIEVE ....

  20. So do you think it’s time to welcome another goalkeeper to meadow lane.?
