So another appalling performance from defender Richard Duffy on Saturday ,which lead to the Cambridge goal.
His constant shouting and swearing at players during attacks and set pieces against us is not helping, that simple.
Also giving them the wrong instructions is leading to disputes with captain john Stead. On Saturday he was the fifth defender and I’m sure he and Duffy had words.
Am I the only one thinking that Richard Duffy has used up his nine lives with Notts county. Allowing Jamie Turley to leave and keeping Duffy, despite his high wage and the fact that every time he plays County either concede or lose for me it is ridiculous. It’s not rocket science. Duffy has to go,he’s worn out his nine life’s at meadow lane and needs to go.
Osborne has 6 in 6 in the reserve team games and looks confident on the ball, whilst Patching keeps putting in stellar performances in the centre of midfield in the reserves
Meanwhile Hewitt (RWB), Milsom (CB) and Thomas (W) clog up the first team picture with inept performance after inept performance. I will not stand for these 3 doing the square root of jack every match.
I don't like the argument to do with them "being too young" because if you're old enough, you're good enough. Also in the great escape of 2014, Haydn Hollis came in to the first team for Dean Leacock and put him to shame.

Rob Milsom has completed his permanentt move from Crawley Town to Notts County and becomes Neals Ardleys third signing of the transfer window.
Although the deal for the move was thought to be finalised a few months ago just waiting for January to cross the T’s and dot the i’s.
Milsom has become Notts County’s midfield maestro under Kewell and Ardley.

So Neal Ardley has revealed in a interview then Enzio Boldewijn could return this Saturday away at Yeovil.
The winger has been out since last November with an injured knee which required surgery.
Ardley revealed a few weeks ago that Enzio was nearly back in full training and ahead of schedule.
Im happy that Enzio is on his way back but I still have a fear or two about him returning to action a month and half early.
I really hope that he’s not being rushed back to soon.

which players and formation is key for survival?
i think notts should drop the 3 centre backs personally, they seem to play too deep and i fail to see how exactly it strengthens up the squad. defensively i feel we still look an easy target with set pieces and crosses, this is something which has been obvious all season but the same mistakes keep happening. i would go back to 4-4-2 myself.
then have it so one of the mids probably o'brien drop to support a 4-1-3-2 with him acting as an anchor for the back four.
jon stead, enzio boldewijn, matt tootle, david vaughan are all players i think are important for survival, its just how to get the most out of them. if kane hemmings is out for the season this would be a big blow but i do feel nathan thomas [if instructed well] could be a useful tool. he just needs to stop going for goal himself or wasting chances, just smarter play from him.
what about you?

Hello,
Pride of Nottingham is pleased to announce that we are doing a prize raffle for a chance to win several items.
This will enable PON to gain vital funds to help support the site, something which would naturally make a huge difference. The merch provides a sort of top-up but it's heavily reliant on purchases and after Christmas/January you can imagine this does slow down the interest quite naturally do to empty pockets from all the previous fun.
However, we feel this offers great value and a fun way for members + Notts fans to win one of our superb prints.
Please read the raffle entry located immediately beneath this text for more information.
Click the link for more information.
Basic Raffle Summary:
£2.50 per ticket.
4 prizes (with two prints being the main prize).
The raffle closes at the end of January.
Good luck if you are partaking in the raffle! Please help us spread the word.
YOU PIES!!!

Fitzsimons 5 beaten by looping backward header for 1st, totally exposed for 2nd so no blame there...some good saves in between
Barclay 5 Still wonder if he is the "best available" in the loan window rather than a straight make weight swap for Hall
Duffy 4 Customary dive, but this one tried to win a penalty. Vocal but not much else
Bird 7 maybe the only positive to come from this season. How the hell Kewell sent him to Grantham, reflects on Kewell's cluelessness. Steady and bruising. Unlucky with header against the bar
Hewitt 2 When you are being outjumped by Dicko, says all you need to know. Missed open goal in first half...one can never have any confidence with the ball at his feet. Just not good enough
Evina 5 works well with Bird, only creative leaning was down his side
Milsom. 2 too static, looking to lay off immediately rather than take responsibility. Shocking
O'Brien 4 shows some drive but theissue is no forward movement to give real options
Vaughan 3 Out muscled many times, a few good passes but one cannot say he is ever effective.
Alessandra 6 at least showed som close skill. I'm never really impressed with him but willing to eat humble pie today, at least showed something
Stead 3 If Bradford are interested, get rid now, Out jumped, or no real challenges for the ball. No goal threat
Subs
Thomas N/A showed some pace but in wrong direction
Boldewijn 4 why wasnt he put in Hewitts position to expose Dicko's lack of pace? wasted
Dennis 4 nice lay offs but another likely relegation on his cv
Mgr
Ardley 3 another goal conceded from set piece...cannot defend corners so why no players on posts? True, we had ample % possession in the match but with little to show for it. No cutting edge

So Ryan Schofield made his Notts County debut on Saturday against Cambridge the Huddersfield goalkeeper is on loan with Notts till the end of the season.
unfortunaltly Notts lost 1-0 to Cambridge to a dipping effort that went over the jumping goalkeeper.
Thoughts on Schofield’s debut ?

- It all starts in January 2018. Ryan Yates is recalled. We never replace him and Nolan changes the formation for no reason at all. Our gap to the play-offs is wiped out.
- We don't bring in a injury free pacey striker. We should have known what we were getting with Mason Bennett and his injury record. He lasted 2 weeks.
- We eventually bottle promotion and finish in the play-offs. We lose them and we're in League 2 again for 18/19.
- We throw away the style of play that got us to 5th place. All we needed was fine tuning and a little bit more work on passing. Not a complete overhaul to a team that will pass out from the back.
- We get rid of the leaders in the squad and don't replace them. We also don't improve the defence or midfield. No battling midfielder and quality centre-back. Lincoln bought Shackell. Mansfield bought Sweeney and Preston. Just saying.
- Derby and Leicester friendlies did us no good. Hardy goes on about them being the two biggest clubs in the East Midlands. Bridges burned more.
- Players have no pre-season and are unfit. Yates still not replaced. Still got no leaders. Key positions still not addressed. Overspend on players making our financial position even worse. Nolan didn't stick to his morals of a strong defence, being hard to beat, competition for players and their being characters in the team. Hardy interfering also with first team matters. We are setting ourselves up for a disaster
- Next appointment is wrong. Kewell falls out with the majority of the squad. The squad is bloated with over 30 players.
- Kewell sacked. Ardley comes in and doesn't turn things around. Hardy arguing with fans on Twitter constantly. Has a loan from his parent company with 4% interest on it. Our financial position hasn't got any better. We've got no infrastructure or training ground. His egotistical and "I'm always right" attitude has worn thin with the fans.
Mismanagement on and off the pitch coupled with shocking recruitment, no idea of how we want to play, no infrastructure, no training ground and players who don't care is a recipe for disaster.

did the notts players even turn up?
i think they need to think about their careers now and how their performances are impacting that, if they can try for the fans or to do what the manager wants. maybe they should hang up their boots?
I don't see where the wins cam come from, Notts played poorly but there are games left remaining where a mircle could happen.
Losing to Yeovil is like throwing in the towel, there was no response and the teams playing awful. I fear they're too far gone for Neal Ardley to change much, scraping results together to climb out seems impossible.
