its a great interview, i think we angled it in a way to focus on all the nice things luke williams would say about his time here. williams always speaks with such clarity that i feel he could have just spoken without the prompts from the questions.

yet he does show how good we have had it and how thankful we should be for what he and the team achieved together.

You could see in his face how much he enjoyed his time at the club and how emotional it is to be leaving. I liked the way he spoke about the players, fans and everything that surrounds the club. It was a great interview.

  1. Notts County's 3500th league match.

Third Division Match 1987.              Notts 4 v Port Vale 1.        Featuring a hat trick from Ian McParland. At the conclusion of the match there is an interview with Jackie Sewell & Tommy Lawton. Great memories.

  2. Brief highlights of Division 2, Notts 3 v Southampton 2, Sept 1974 featuring Kevin Randall, Brian Stubbs & Don Mason

  3. please do add at least a few words explaining your choice, as to make this interesting and not spammy. i think it will be interesting. i am curious to see what the pon members will choose.

mines the darkness - i believe in a thing called love

i have never been bothered that notts have been poor or average, its what i grew to like about the club. that we tried and fans had that connection with it. i like how fans look out for each other, those difficult times would be different without this. now that the club has the reedtz at the helm and luke williams as the head coach.

there is nothing better than watching and supporting notts. :D ❤

It's now 23rd December.I feel good because we are back in the Football League.

I feel less confident about us winning matches than I did a few weeks ago.

However,  I am very confident that we will turn this poor spell around after Xmas.

Feeling good, & feeling very optimistic.

It seems much easier to add video from X, but I'm still learning I suppose.

  4. Dear Pride of Nottingham members,

We have some exciting updates to share with you this month! The Pride of Nottingham is still undergoing work to improve our features and bring you even more great content. We’re thrilled to announce the return of the very first Notts County podcast, the PONcast. A skilled programmer is fixing an app we use for PONcast and to show the league, teams, and fixtures.

We’re also happy to report that our mobile navigation has returned. Guests will now see options for ‘home’, ‘activities’, ‘sign in’, ‘register’ and ‘more’. Members who are signed in will see the third and fourth buttons change to ‘create’ and ‘topicfeed’. We’re still deciding whether to keep the topicfeed as the fourth option, so please let us know your thoughts and suggestions. The 'more' tab shows the complete menu. You can access your notifications and personal messages. You can also set your mood and see your PON rank. It displays how close you are to reaching the next level.

We’re pleased with how the site is going and would like to encourage everyone to invite a friend using our invite system. We’ve been regularly hitting our daily post goal and the content has been fantastic. Please continue to add your own discussions, but remember to check the dashboard first in case someone else has already posted on the same topic.

Finally, we’d like to take a moment to thank @Piethagoram, @Fan of Big Tone, @CliftonMagpie, @TheSkipper and @liampie for regularly adding new things to talk about. We would like to express our gratitude to all members who have shared their valuable opinions. Your thoughts and responses have been crucial in helping PON evolve, and we look forward to further enhancing our platform with your input.

Thank you for being a part of the Pride of Nottingham community!

@Robbie: I am pleased you are enjoying the Pride of Nottingham. I am also glad that you have found your way to the site, because when someone joins and instantly gets involved it's a sign that something is working as intended.

Many people join, but they often become lost or simply remain passive, which is completely acceptable. However, witnessing this can be quite discouraging.

Seeing how much you have so quickly become involved, it's great. Honestly, I think @Fan of Big Tone has someone giving him a run for his money in terms of always being on. We appreciate your valuable contributions.

Let's refrain from bringing up the number of goals we let in, shall we? Let's start 2024 off with this positive message and the promise of better to come.

  6. How will you be celebrating the New Year (or not)?

We don’t do New Year parties, we beer have really except for small family parties, this year will be no different, tonight we are having one of my favourite curries Lamb Rogan Josh it’s expensive to make but so delicious. Then we’ll see how tired we are and if we want to stay up to see the New a year in, we used to open the front and back door to let the new year in and the old year out but we don’t usually bother now.

Will you be celebrating? Is so how?

i did not celebrate the new year in, because i was already in bed ready for work the following day.

its been hell over christmas, we are so rushed off our feet and it has not helped that our parent company has enforced staff layoffs so it means those wanting to keep their job are having to take on overtime. something like 25-30 are being let go. :(

    4. Chris

      Chris

We used to celebrate the New Year at my parents, although we stopped some time back and would video call each other once Auld Lang Syne had been sung (usually just by myself). 😂

Those years, we tended to see the following year by watching films together or on the past few occasions watch a stream of a live gig. Pausing once it was almost a New Year, to finish the night off with the rest of the stream or film.

I was pleased @super_ram came over. I very much wanted him to come round before as we had made plans for him to stay over Boxing Day and for a few nights but somewhere along the way this ended up being forgotten. Jake @super_pie, very much wanted it. However, New Year's Eve was perfect. It was nice because I just felt well enough to be downstairs and made use of @Dash_16k's beanbag as a very comfortable cheer. :D

We played Monopoly (a quick version which turned out to be anything but fast) - yet it was enjoyable. We also played Cluedo which was good fun. Despite having two weapons and a character.I quickly established what the weapon was and who the murderer was. I then carefully watched where Jake, Ellie, Kate and Super would go. Carefully noting within my head the questions they ask, the rooms they tended to get no answers from. Until I figured out the room to win. Jake was catching on to what I had figured, though we both had our comedy moments.

Firstly, when I referred to the wrech as a spanner and Jake referred to two rooms incorrectly. 😂

  7. Stone - 2 - We need a new keeper if Tiernan isn't up to it.

Brindley - 2 - Shambolic. Not up to the standard.

Baldwin -  4 - One of his more chaotic performances.

Cameron - 4 - Perhaps the better of the backline, but hardly a ringing endorsement.

Nemane - 4.5- Good goal. Nothing offensively beyond that, crap at the back as per.

Jones - 6 - All the decent crosses came from his side.

Bostock - 4.5 - Wasn't at his unplayable best today.

    Austin - 5.5 - Can't really fault him.

Crowley - 6 - Well marshalled but toiled away.

    Langstaff - 7 - What a player.

    McGoldrick - 5 - Off it today.

    O'Brien - 5

    Sanderson - 5

If anybody is under the illusion that we don't need at least one defender and a new keeper - show them that highlights reel.

Looking at our dismal away performances of late I think like you all we need to adopt an away strategy along with a plan 'b' which is something that is never implemented because there is no plan 'b'. Although we have stepped up to a league where some players are out of their comfort zone, realising and doing something about it is another matter. The January window now offers us a chance to rectify that and bulk up the squad. Again I agree that if we thought at this juncture of the season we'd be in a playoff position last year, no problem we would of jumped at it. COYP

      Piethagoram

I maybe out on a limb here, but individually the defenders are not good enough per se. If we change our style, possession % may significantly drop. We need Macari and 2 other decent options

    4. Robbie

      Robbie

Agree @Michael D P if a team is leaking goals like no tomorrow one  has to have a plan B. Of course look for new players, but even new players will find it difficult by the way we keep exposing ourselves on away trips. Of course we would like to win every away game, but most clubs play not to lose away, & if they get a win, that's a bonus.

  8. It’s the time of year to make New Years Resolutions, things you want to start doing or things you want to change.

Mine is the usual one I have at this time of year and that’s to lose some weight, I’ve put lots back on over the festive period. I probably need to cut down the alcohol too.

yes, i have set some goals for myself and i usually keep them to myself.

      • i want to travel a bit more. italy, australia and turkey are three places i aim to visit in 2024. italy could be a weekender, with the other two making a week holiday each.
      • get more involved in my community.
      • join a gym and stick with it.

@liampie They are great goals.  I hope you achieve them all.

Italy is a wonderful country.  I have been there for work a lot and on holiday a couple of times.  Milan is great (but probably not my No1 favourite), Florence amazing, Rome incredible, Naples, scar (but outside is pretty cool - the drive along the coast is unbelievable), and Venice and Verona are must visits!  Good luck with a weekend - I suspect you will return.

I joined a gym in October, and the Christmas break has done loads of damage.  I need to get back there!!

    4. Chris

      Chris

I think my main goals would be to continue on the health front.

It's been a bit difficult over the last few weeks for me, what with having a bug and feeling too tired to do anything. However, I made a resolution the year before that I wouldn't push myself beyond my ability when unwell and I have stuck to that quite well.

I would like to find more time to do more digital art work.

I want to connect better within the Notts community, rather than just being a friendly face and someone who takes pictures at games. Socialising before and during games is something that I need to put time into - even if it's a quick hello. I care a lot about our fan base and I have met so many wonderful people that I should seek out more often.

I also want to write more poetry. I have always found it to be a creative outlet towards understanding my feelings and having a natural release.

Other than these, I just hope to have more family nights together. I spent time with my dad, brother, and sister-in-law. They mean the world to me, so it would be good to have film nights and catch up more frequently. It would be able to give Kate quality time with our own family who are becoming difficult to get all together now that they're all teens.

I’ve honestly had enough of hearing about Conor Keeley. He’s been touted as our saviour, but most of those saying this probably haven’t seen him play. I haven’t either, so I’m not too disappointed. I hope those who hype up Keeley stop talking about players until they actually sign. It’s frustrating to see our current players overlooked while fans focus on every rumoured player as if our squad is out of date.

we need to move on from conor keeley, look at other options and hopefully find someone suitable to improve the back three. i did think the mentioning at the fans forum that the club is not against looking at european teams as an interesting comment. maybe we will look at the dutch or french players who are available?

I haven't seen him play other than the videos on here.  He looked OK for the standard he was playing at, but there are no guarantees he would be any good for us and there are plenty of others who could do a similar job who we are following, I'm sure.  So it's not like we have missed out on the likes of John Stones, or Van Dyke, so I'm not too disappointed.

Luke may be involved but does he have the final decision? He either has or he hasn't. Either way the recruitment decisions are a little wanting.

I think he recommends the recruitment team to take a look at them, it isn’t his decision to sign them or not as he is head coach and not the manager.

Totally agree, most of our recent signings apart from Crowley (I won’t include Didzy as he wanted to come home) & possibly Macari have been poor. Stone is pretty bad, Randall doesn’t exist, Morias injured before signing, and Tipton just not up to it. Gosling was a gamble that hasn’t paid off, so not quite in the same category as the rest to be honest.

It makes me wonder just how much of a loss Jason Turner really has been to us as I’m sure he was involved in the recruitment side as well (would be surprised if not).

    4. liampie

      liampie

i think with the signing of jumior morias we have been unlucky but i do think sometimes when a player is not near to starting, we have a tendency of claiming they have a knock which might be true but i dont think its anywhere as bad as to keep them from starting.

ollie tipton is probably one of those loans where the parent club continues to pay their wages without the loan club having to worry about it.

i cant imagine he would have been on a considerable amount either but there was no reason why we did not give him a chance. we should have given him some chances, but the most baffling part is when we needed a defensive midfielder he was nowhere near the starting lineup, when we needed a defender again he was just overlooked. i dont think it says anything negative about our recruitment.

it might have just been a budget thing for the time, or to see how our squad did. the same recruitment process should bring in more quality in january to help us push on with aims of back to back promotions.

i wish ollie tipton all the best, i am sure he could have done more for us given the game time.

When you see the bonkers stuff at the likes of Birmingham and, to an extent Forest, you realise that we have really good owners.  Luckily for us I think there are more of the Forest / Birmingham owners than the Reedz, which has got to help us prosper.

      liampie

i think its something which will go along way to reminding some fans just how far we have gone. there is no doubt at home we are more confidence but away leaves improvements. the reedtz have outlined the reasons why we are to be thankful and i for one am very grateful for their involvement in restoring pride to notts.

For me though the frustration is about not being able to just stay a bit more compact away from home. It's not great to concede early but it was a real blow to concede just before half-time especially having done so well to take the lead. Given we look to dominate we know we have to be switched on to deal with counter-attacks but it sounded like we really struggled with that in the second half.

I think given the same team started the last 4 games in the space of about 10 days the levels were always going to drop slightly but the squad is thread bare at the moment. Particularly worrying that we had no attacking options on the bench! But James Sanderson seems light a bit of bright spark, seems to have been fast-tracked into first team so maybe we’ll see a bit more of him before the season is over.

I think Tranmere have got a very good manager in Nigel Adkins too. Clearly improved them a lot since he’s come in, I’d expect them to push for the play-offs second half of the season now.

A bit of break now is actually very handy for us. It’ll give us a chance to get some injured players back, Robertson a bit of time to bed in and possibly another addition too!

    4. Robbie

      Robbie

In reply to your post @menzinho I agree with the problem dealing with the counter attacking threat. We saw when we played Wrexham away in the NL we were under threat on the Counter attack by a good side. Now we have many good sides in League 2 & we are under threat every week but it seems nothing has been done to counter that threat. We need a plan B.

Once I got home, I started writing a response to this on my phone. I felt very displeased with what I witnessed, and I couldn't put into words how I felt about the game. I kept changing my text until I ended up deleting parts of it. Then I just gave up, it seemed pointless.

I have nothing but respect for our players; it pains me to write things which they might disagree with or find unfair. However, I try to reflect on what I think, see and feel.

Kyle Cameron wasn't at his best, I honestly think the pressure is getting to him. I heard other fans say after the game that he's never been good defensively and that he's not that good going forward. I disagree, because I feel there's been times when he's been exceptional. I thought when he arrived he looked quite comfortable and, mostly, did well in the National League. Yes, he got caught out at times, but nothing like against Walsall.

It's not just Kyle, John Bostock looked unlike himself - could he still be carrying a knock? Maybe, but he was very poor on the ball. Likewise with David McGoldrick, he held the ball up and did some nice touches but largely had a pretty big off day. Lewis Macari was very encouraging in the first half, I thought he looked useful in the second and the decision to take him off for Richard Brindley left me questioning why.

I don't think the game suited bringing on Jim O'Brien either, he showed his surge in wanting to get us forward but largely fell into the same trap as everyone else. Losing possession by making weak passes or holding onto the ball for too long without considering passing it sooner.

In the first half, our game management allowed us to press and create chances. Notts focused on bringing the ball back far too much, especially when better passes were available.

I was extremely disappointed with Aaron Nemane, particularly in his defensive skills. He looked magic at times going forward, but unproductive too, and sometimes you felt he should have passed. I love seeing him take on players, but when you are being marked by 3 or more players, passing seems a much safer option. There's no fault on him for Walsall's first goal. However, Cameron should have been where Nemane stood.

Also, John Bostock and Sam Austin should have done better to cover the cross. Both put their feet in hoping to block it but neither actually focused on the ball. More hoping sticking out their feet would be effective enough, but it's not good defending.

Aidan Stone mostly could be forgiven for me, but his positioning wasn't the best. Yes, his distribution at times perhaps wasn't great, but he wasn't the problem. He made some very good saves in situations where you would feel the attacking player was favoured. I couldn't imagine how difficult his job became in the second half with the lack of pressing, covering, defending and effort.

Nemane should have put more effort to get back for their second goal, Walsall had another player who sprinted into a very good passing position and Nemane just stood as a spectator. He might not be great at defending, but a little effort wouldn't go a miss.

The marking in the middle is too focused on a crowded area, but we lack effort from the midfield to get back and cover. Yes, everyone watched the ball end up being played perfectly to Isaac Hutchinson. There was time for more thought to go into the organisation of our defence.

Jodi Jones really should have moved to get behind Hutchinson, he's watching it develop. The space opens up, by the time the ball is struck, only then does Jodi jog to cover. Although it's a bit belated, it's evident that everyone's defensive performance in the second half was absolutely dreadful. There is a lack of urgency, coordination, and communication. Our passing was disappointing, and we wasted every crucial minute when we could have pulled ourselves together. Mostly, I feel through a lack of effort and application.

As for Luke Williams, he's at fault for not demanding more and for extremely poor tactical changes.

No way should Dan Crowley have been taken off, he was one of the few players who were capable of stringing several successful passes together.

Junior Morais should have come on for David McGoldrick. Dan Gosling made sense, at least in principle. I wouldn't have introduced Jim O'Brien or Richard Brindley. I know these seem like attacking minded players, I can't help but feel Adam Chicksen and Will Randall (although the latter has been poor) would have given us more attacking options. We might want to consider how strong our bench is in games where we need to produce more creativity because that's where we lack in that department. The defensive issue is a big headache, when nobody wants to take responsibility for it.

This is an interesting one.  Have we had a game where we have been a bit meh? Neither good, nor bad?  It seems to me that we are like a well tuned machine, when it works it is fabulous, but if one component goes wrong the whole thing stops.  It also makes it difficult for someone to just slot in - hence it took a while for Bostock to find his feet and form a partnership with Palmer.  Now Palmer is injured, Bostock's role changes and this is taking time to bed in, especially as we have tried Austin next to him, and O'Brian.  At this time we need some consistency which we can't have right now.  Add to that Dan Gosling who is trying to fit into the system whilst not being match fit and we have a big problem in midfield.  That then puts more onus on Jones and Nemane and on the back 3.

I love our system, and would hate us to try lumping it forwards as some fans seem to want... it won't work as we don't have the players to get into a physical scrap or fight an aerial battle.  What we probably do need is another plan that can take the pressure off certain areas of the pitch.  For example, we seem to lack a coordinator who can tell people where to be in defence.  Maybe we should think about one of the CBs dropping a bit deeper so they have a better view of how things develop and can tell the others where to be?  I don't know, I'm no tactician, but I think we need to change things a bit from time to time to take the pressure off from time to time.

Against Wrexham we seemed to go side to side all the time and never tried an incisive run into the box.  It sounds like when the confidence goes we stop doing the things that make us successful.

Every season, there's one team in League 2 that goes from promotion contender to fighting relegation. I hate to say it, but we fit that bill right now. It's plain as day that teams have figured us out yet there's no Plan B. New players aren't going to fix that. LW needs to adjust or we'll go into free fall and we all know what happens after that.

As I write this we've lost to Tranmere by a similar pattern. I agree that teams have figured us out. Luke Williams has done wonders for us since he became Head Coach, but he is stubborn, continuing with the same tactics that aren't working especially away from home. I agree he has no plan B.

I remember the trolley buses. They would be very handy right now, but I suppose they wouldn't work very good with the amount of traffic we have today, nor would the old fashioned trams

Yes Trolley Buses were brilliant they ran from overhead electric wires connected by poles, I used to catch one on Arkwright Sreet to get into town there was a terminus on Trent Bridge, I don’t think they came down Meadow Lane, a little single decker petrol bus (No. 8 I think) came down Meadow Lane from Sneinton to Trent Bridge.

@Fan of Big Tone Those photos bring back memories for me even as a 4 year old. How time has flown. Victoria Station, Trolley Buses, Wollaton & Clifton Coal mines all gone now.

  16. It's like if EMR had admitted the percentage of times a train actually set off on time from Nottingham station. It's only going to cause negative fan reaction. Already this season Notts have been on the end of poor officiating, as mentioned by Luke Williams at the fan forum.

Sutton (A) - Joe Kizzi leans in with his elbow and gets away with it

Grimsby (H) - Aaron Nemane getting booked for taking too long with a throw, despite us being 1-0 down

Salford (A) - Aden Baldwin being kicked to bits in the first-half and Salford were just allowed to get away with it. The referee making it all about him in the last 15 minutes, handing out 8 yellow cards, 2 of them second yellows, resulting in Kevin Berkoe (Salford) and Aaron Nemane (Notts) being sent off

Wrexham (H) - Paul Mullin does some Lucha Libre spin kick on Jodi Jones and doesn't get sent off for kicking out, with it being right infront of the linesmen. Jodi somehow gets booked despite being the one that's kicked

Crewe (A) - Take your pick. Shilow Tracey diving in the penalty area within the first 5 minutes, Aaron Rowe, Joe White and Conor Thomas also taking tumbles to the floor after barely being nudged. The linesmen being completely behind play all game, culminating in Courtney Baker-Richardson and Ryan Cooney both being offside for an attack late on in which the lino doesn't start running from the half way line, until after the ball had reached Cooney.

Bradford (H) - Aden Baldwin taking it past 2 players and then being upended, for which the Bradford player doesn't even receive a booking. Bradford committed 12 fouls in the game and didn't get a single yellow card, whilst we received 3.

Wimbledon (A) - Isaac Ogundere manhandling Jodi Jones all the way through the second-half and not receiving a booking

Harrogate (A) - Brindley and Nemane taken out after the ball had gone but both times, the referee failed to caution the Harrogate players. Baldwin gets shoved in the back with nothing given, allowing Chicksen to play Harrogate in for their third.

This might seem like sour grapes but Luke Williams has mentioned it before. The officiating is inconsistent and in my opinion, the lack of common sense used is unacceptable.

    Any others you can remember?

VAR has actually made things worse in the Premier league. No one I know likes this system at all. I wouldn't like to see VAR introduced in the EFL.

I say Leave it to the Referees. When a decision goes against us it's a talking point for a while but we move on, until the next incident. It's just part of football, it's not perfect, but it's the same in any other officiated sport.

I do think we’ve been on the end of some bad refereeing at times, but I think you ask any fan in the league and they’d say exactly the same. Think Morecambe fans won’t be too pleased with the penalty decision last night, the defender puts his arm out but doesn’t really grab Nemane, no way in real life does that action make you fall over. I guess for us though it equals out as I thought the penalty for Doncaster wasn’t a foul.

I’d like to see ex-players start refereeing after they retire from playing. Football in this country has so much money, I think the FA should have program specially for lower league players after retiring so they can have a viable career. You’d have players who have been in those moments on the pitch, they know what it takes to knock you of balance, how much force is in a tackle. I think the standard would increase dramatically.

On a slight side note, I don’t think going down the route of constant criticism of refereeing mistakes is the answer either. It’s become the norm now to blame the ref and some of the abuse a lot of referees get specifically at grass roots level is horrific. I play for a Sunday morning team, just for the fun of it and it’s such a low level of football it’s completely meaningless but I can’t believe how many grown men get so upset and angry at the man who’s given up his time to ref it. In our league last season one of the referees got punched by a player and the sad thing is this isn’t even a rare occurrence anymore... It'll definitely have a knock effect in the future, who want to become a ref right now?

The percentage seems impressive at first glance, but the problem is they haven’t explained how they arrived at this figure. They can’t base it on game highlights or live footage. Similarly, the fourth official’s reports can’t be considered in this context.

This - unless you know what a 'correct decision' is, the numbers are meaningless.  For example - if Jones is pulled back constantly and nothing given, is that simply 'no decision', are some decisions and others not, or are they all decisions.  If the play is allowed to go on and no action taken retrospectively, what is the decision - the 'play on' or the taking no action? Is a decision only when a foul is given or the game interrupted?  All these would give wildly different results.

Also, 85% is an average - is that average pulled up by a few very very good officials? How many games (and officials) have less than 85% correct decisions? What is the spread across all the refs? How many decisions do the refs make per game?  15 per game is a lot of bad decisions, but if they only make 20 overall then 3 isn't too bad?  Do they weight how bad a decision is - a wrong decision on a penalty is more impactful than a foul in the centre circle.

I could go on, but the long and short is that 85% says nothing, other than overall the officials make a number of bad calls per game (which you would expect and we all knew anyway).

I wish pundits would learn the rules themselves and stop the 'he got a touch on the ball so it isn't a foul' nonsense.  It can be both a foul and a touch on the ball. They create a lot of the culture around criticising every decision, and it is interesting that VAR is criticised as much as refs used to be. If the campaign to get rid of VAR succeeds it will only be a matter if time before there are calls to 'use technology' to avoid officiating mistakes.  The issue isn't VAR, it's how they communicate to those in the stadium... but that is a whole different topic!!

The positive thing to point out is that because we have the best offense in league 2, we are still in the playoff mix, & we will continue to score goals, but I think we need changes in defense & goalkeeping  position & we need to be more defensive minded away.

We have some tough away games to play and if we keep playing like this, we will finish in the lower mid table, come season's end.

Being at Wembley to witness arguably the best NL playoff final in history was special. My friend is a WBA fan. He was with me at Wembley and he was completely involved. He was happier than me when Notts won 🤣 The icing on the cake was meeting Shane Meadows. I've seen every film and TV series Shane has made. He was so nice.

We are now into Jan 2024 as I reply to this topic.

Dan has been a revelation having scored 10 goals from midfield as I write.

Trouble is, we are leaking goals like a sieve even though we are scoring freely. Dan is doing well but I can't help feeling that the balance of the side is too weighted toward offense to the detriment of the defense.

    3. Fozzy

Yes it is @Robbie__64, LW has stated that he doesn’t like removing a player from attack by changing formation, so he will have to get better defenders.

Crowley has been brilliant, but I would be happy to lose an attacking option on the right as we would still have Crowley, Langstaff, Didzy and Jones on the pitch.

    4. Robbie

      Robbie

Good point @Fozzy we have Jones on the left doing a great job, so he could always move to the right occasionally if needed.

We have Scott Robertson now who I believe is more defensively minded who could do a roll for us in the final centre of midfield.

Nemane may be the person to give way for him or another signing
