Who can fill Jim O'Brien boots?

It's a massive blow for us, he's equally adapt at doing the defensive and offensive work, I'd have said O'Brien was our best CM at the start of the season so I'm gutted he won't have much involvement for the rest of the season. Rose and Doyle just isn't working at the moment. Both play too deep and don't really have much of an effect on the play in the final third. I think you've got to pair one them with Booty for that reason.

The only CM other than Booty is Crawford and couldn't even get on when O'Brien went off, I've seen very little of him play so it's hard for me to make any judgements on him though...

I agree that Mitch Rose can play with Michael Doyle, if they are spaced out and both give 100%.

Issue is I don't think we have seen them both perform well enough consistently together, yet Regan Booty could be a good replacement. He has goals, can get forward well and coves decently at the back. Hopefully, with Jim O'Brien returning to the treadmill he will be back sooner than we thought - not that I would rush him.

We can can cover the position, it's just Jim's passion and influence we will miss the most.
