Brexit 50p

I like coins. I don't have a huge collection but I collect special ones. Has anyone come across the Brexit 50p? I have people in the UK keeping an eye for one for me but no luck so far. A friend went to London this weekend, but hasn't come across any. I could buy one on ebay, but I think I'll wait for one to turn up.Β

@Dripsey3Β Never seen one yet, but myself and Cheeky look out for coins.

Not to sell, but occasionally we collect them.

If I come across one, I'll be sure to let you know. As a few people I know are seeking the fullΒ Beatrix Potter collection.

I searched the price, its silly money for a 50p coin.

I haven't seen any of them in circulation, I will keep an eye out but doubt I will see one.

Thanks for looking out for one for me. I suspect the shopkeepers are selling them on ebay and that's why they aren't showing up in general circulation!Β

Quite possible but, won't this land them in trouble if they do?

I haven't seen any, it might be worth asking a bank to change a certain amount of money into 50p coins and then rummaging through the bags.

Yeah that happens a lot, there's a person near my parents who owns a small shop that does this on the counter as you wait to be served. ????Β

I thought it was illegal to do that.

I know on YouTube coin collectors buy bulk bags and go through them, it's one way to find one.

i dont get why people would put them up on ebay for so much money, it seems madness. i know people collect coins but surely there is a value in them first.

These days people make money in the weirdest ways, you'd be surprised how much some would pay or ask for.

Whatever your views on Brexit, I can understand wanting to hold on to a coin like that for curiosity value. Or to make an easy profit on Ebay! :D

In terms of aesthetics, the newish pound coin is gorgeous. But it's also easy to confuse with a euro coin, which can be a bit of a pain if you walk around with both in your wallet!

People will try and sell anything on which they think they can get a bit more £££ from. I didn't know about the coin either, so not seen it myself.

I work in a supermarket, so I can keep an eye out also.

I haven't seen one of these coins but I do notice plenty of other ones such as WWII etc.

I appreciate this. I reckon a supermarket is the best bet.Β

Purely for the sake of having it. It's historic in its own way. If I get one, it won't be going on Ebay!

No chance over here, but if you collect coins and require someone to keep a look here in the States I am more than happy to do it.

Some of the coins here are really something!

I have 4 presidential dollar coins. My pride and joy is a first day of issue Abraham Lincoln. He's my favourite president.Β

I also have the full collection of state quarters. I have them in a presentation case.Β

We get all sorts of coins coming through, so the chances are higher that one might be found.
