  1. Our game in hand. Both sides desperate for the points for different reasons. We drew up there earlier in the season. They haven't closed out their last 2 games despite being the better side so we have hope.

1-2 I reckon. Can't see us getting anything. They are a much better side.

  2. Hello,

Big pop punk fan here as the username probably suggests, I also attend the majority of Notts home games. I'm looking forward to sharing my opinion and discussing matters. :)

  3. Its almost the end of this season, its looks like we may have another nervous last game to decide our fate. My question is what do you do out of season?

  4. Kevin-Grealish-in-Jack-Grealishs-Aston-V

Aston Villa: Jack Grealish's dad wore son's Wembley shirt to do the school run!

Jack Grealish’s proud dad Kevin wore the Aston Villa winger’s Wembley shirt to do the school run!

Grealish senior has been kitted out in the match-worn replica shirt all day today following Villa’s FA Cup semi-final victory over Liverpool.

He even bumped into Premier League referee Andre Marriner, believed to be a Villa fan, in the gym while he was wearing Jack’s shirt. Kevin revealed that he wanted to wear the 19-year-old’s top around Solihull to display his pride, before he gets the shirt framed.

He put it on this morning and wore it while he dropped Jack’s sisters Kiera, 13, and Holly, 11, off at school.

I have to say when I noticed Kevin's post about this, I smiled and said out loud 'I'd do the same thing'. What a fantastic relationship they have, I realize some will go on about 'showing off' but Kevin isn't like that. It's just good fun, combined with a little bit of banter. I would loved to have seen the baggies reaction or Brummy fans!! Haha

  5. I have been busy with sending out exports that I have neglected my time on PON, Its been awhile but when I checked for updates recently it has been very quiet, very, very quiet in fact. I am pleased to see things returning back to how it should be!

    Good stuff people and @notts-joe!

  6. So what music do you all like?

@Super_Danny_Allsopp I noticed your pop punk comment, what bands do you like?

  7. After missing the launch last week I popped to game and got myself a copy of GTA V for my laptop.

7 Discs to install and 60gb updates! wow.

Still installing now as I only started awhile ago, so I will have to reserve judgement, but looks superb from what i've seen so far.

Hope so as I tuck to my rule that if it's genuinely innovative or rewarding then I buy the original game. Normally I do this after downloading it first, but this time took the plunge straight away as I thought Rockstar deserved it for their efforts over the years. See I am an honest downloader!

Will give thoughts and reviews after the weekend when I've had a few hours on it!

If it all goes pear shaped tomorrow night I might end up playing that with Uncle Col muted in he background!!!

I dare you to be unimpressed!

  8. Welcome @28111862 @JimmysIncredible,

Thanks for taking the time to join us, two very interesting usernames. Care to tell us a little bit about yourself? I hope you both enjoy your time on here.

  9. I saw Weymouth Pie posted a link to the song Enola Gay by OMD. It got me thinking, I love Synth Pop, easily my favourite music genre.

Here's one of the pioneering synth pop songs:

  10. Notts County Youth team completed their season with a 1-1 draw at home against local rivals Mansfield Town.

With a view to preparing for next season the Notts team was made up largely of 15 and 16 year olds a number of whom have only recently been awarded scholarships with the club for the next two seasons.  A win could have lifted the Pies to a fourth place finish but the draw means they will end the season in sixth place.  A slightly disappointing final position but a team who had to manage on too many occasions without the presence of top scorer Colby Bishop due to first team calls earlier in the season and a fairly serious injury in March meaning he missed the last half a dozen games of the season.

Notts took the lead in only the second minute when left sided midfielder Yohan Rutty-Smith smashed the ball high into the Mansfield goal from about 15 yards.  The Stags equaliser came on twenty minutes when a Mansfield forward, freed with a fine ball through the middle, lobbed the advancing keeper.

For any older fans, the Notts team today contained the son of Pedro Richards and the nephew of Lloyd Richards.

Overall it was a good performance for a side that must have been, by some distance, the youngest youth team put out by Notts this season.

  11. I sit next to @magpiejue at the match and she has a fit when Notts score and I get my phone out to text my son to tell him. She is superstitious that the opposition will score because I have sent a text. I totally ignore her and carry on because I'm not superstitious about that and if we concede a goal it will be a complete coincidence and not my fault. Would this bother you if you were unlucky enough to sit near me?

Are you superstitious? What form does it take? Tell us your story.

Perhaps @magpiejue will come on and tell us her side of the story and why she thinks me texting could possibly effect the outcome of the game. :joker:

  12. This Saturday's Fixtures:

    Charlton Athletic v Leeds United

Wigan Athletic v Brighton & Hove Albion

    Barnsley v Peterborough United

    Sheffield United v Bradford City

    Luton Town v Hartepool United

    Tranmere Rovers v Oxford United

  13. Forget all that have gone before, this is a real 6 pointer.

We beat them 5-3 at home in October to move into 6th place in the table with a total of 20 points. 6 points ahead of Creepy Crawley. Since them we have picked up a grand total of 27 points from 30 points. Staggering ineptitude is how I'd describe it.

We have only played Crawley 6 times and other than the above game, there haven't been too many goals. Our record at Crawley is 1 draw and 1 loss. We have yet to score there.

Notts did play better last night but the attack is an issue. Creepy have massive problems at the back. They have 1 fit central defender, although they are hoping to have 2 fit this weekend. We should be looking to exploit their defensive frailties.

I have this feeling that Creepy will sneak a win. They are a tough side to beat on home turf. McLeod is a real handful.

    2-1 to Creepy. Gary Thompson.

  14. Lead me to believe we have the most potential in a manager for many, many years. I said originally it was a great idea and I hope RM will prove me right. I love his philosophy and the forward thinking. Can't wait to see the results he achieves, even with this lot.

Next season, regardless of relegation or not, will be very exciting at Meadow Lane. Of that I'm sure.

Well done Ray for sticking your neck out.

  15. Just listened to an interview with Ray Trew who says that the way they get new players is to change, there will be a committee of six people who will talk about possible targets but the manager will have the last word.

What do you think of this, I believe the team across the Trent had a similar system a few years ago which was hugely criticised.

  16. I've only just noticed that AmericanPie has been awarded Member of the Month for March Well done to you and all other members and thanks for all contributions

  17. Welcome @kimberley93.Please join in posting.

  18. As RM says, we have to start winning the home games. Barnsley are on a poor enough run, no wins in 6, but when you look at it a bit closer, you'll see that they drew against Bristol City and PNE (1st and 2nd) so they are no mugs.

We beat them at Oakwell in October. Notts came from 2 goals down after 12 minutes to win 3-2. Petrasso (remember him?) got 2 that day.

I don't think we'll win this game. Another draw I expect. 1-1. Spencer.

I think RM will see his influence kick in for the last 4 games so winning or avoiding defeat here would be a huge boost.

  19. I know it's Easter and folks are busy with family but I've noticed @liampie has gone AWOL.I hope you are OK @liampie,both myself and @GrannyPie are missing you.

  20. Tuesday night's fixtures:
    Middlesbrough v Wolverhampton Wanderers

    Millwall v Wigan Athletic

    Fleetwood Town v MK Dons

    Rochdale v Swindon Town

    Bury v Shrewsbury Town

    Mansfield Town v Tranmere Rovers

  21. I got home from the match around 10.20pm, Mrs H was reading in bed. I asked her if she fancied a cup of hot chocolate, she said yes so I made us both one, inside the fridge I spied some squirty cream, great idea I though so I squirted a great lump of cream on them and raided the biscuit tin.

At 3.30am I was wretching my guts up with my head down the toilet, I didn't get any sleep for the rest of the night and have only just started to feel a bit better.

Needless to say Mrs H is fine, constitution of a ox that one!

Not a good end to a great day.

  22. Mrs. H. was tripping over the cat in the kitchen and she told him to "skedaddle", what a strange word when you think about it, I wonder how it originated?

Anymore strange words you've come across.

  23. Saturday's Fixtures:

    Birmingham City v Wolverhampton Wanderers

    Leeds United v Cardiff City

Preston North End v Bristol City

    Scunthorpe United v Crawley Town

    Newport County v Bury

    York City v Hartlepool United

  24. whats going on? where are you all? its match day, so i have been busy working until not that long ago. what are you upto?

i plan to head off around 6ish and have a slow walk from town to the ground. i think it should be a good game tonight, at least i hope so.
