5 German Championships, 3 German Cup wins, 2 UEFA cup wins - but now comes the best award so far for Borussia!
Gladbach have been awarded third place in the rankings of Veggie-friendly stadia in the 1. and 2. Bundesliga, as published for the 11th time by the animal rights organization PETA. Borussia got 35 points, only behind Bayern Mรผnchen and 1860 Mรผnchen (same stadium). ย Quote - "Thanks to a new sponsor the offer of vegan and vegetarian dishes in the Borussia Park has been upgraded. Responsible for the increase in comparison to the previous year include edam and broccoli quinoa salads and delicious falafel wraps", according to the assessors.
Probably won't stop @Blackville eating Currywurst mit Pommes though.
Obviously pretty much all of us will be supporting England at Euro 2016, possibly with a couple of Irish exceptions. Will any of you be following anyone else in the tournament and why?
I'll be crossing my fingers that Turkey have a good run for the missus, although I'd rather they didn't win it as Erdogan would milk it for all it's worth. I'd like Sweden to do well to keep my work colleagues in a good mood. I have a conflicted relationship with Germany - in a way it's nice when they go far because there's a great atmopshere around the place, but on the other hand they do tend to get arrogant very quickly so it'd beย really funny if they fell flat on their faces. Preferably against England.
Liam Noble has joined Forest green rovers and mark Cooper, no wonder Cooper left a list of players for us to release!
Good luck to him, a very talented player when he wanted to be but a right t**t at times!

Sturridge and Wilshire over Danny Drinkwater is embarrassing to english football, here we have a guy who has just won the premier league playing more games than the two above players combined.. Not too mention the above two players failed to win anything. I can't help but feel sorry for players like Drinkwater, Noble (not our noble ????), Cresswell, Shawcross, I'll throw Defoe in too seen as Sturridge got a place in the squad. All of these players have had excellent seasons at their clubs whereas Wilshire and Sturridge play for 'bigger' teams automatically just get jumped to the front of the que, pick players on form/games playedย Roy not reputation!ย
ย
As for the rest of the squad, it excites me Vardy, Kane, Alli, Rashford good attacking players Eric Dier as an enforcer type of player, questions over the lack of wingers,ย slightly concerned at the back hey, its like watching Notts.ย
What's everyone's thoughts on the squad?
I will be fully backing them, even though we'll slip up early on haha!
Here's the squad in full:
Goalkeepers: Joe Hart (Manchester City), Fraser Forster (Southampton), Tom Heaton (Burnley).
Defenders: Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Chris Smalling (Manchester United), John Stones (Everton), Kyle Walker (Tottenham Hotspur), Ryan Bertrand (Southampton), Danny Rose (Tottenham Hotspur), Nathaniel Clyne (Liverpool).
Midfielders: Dele Alli (Tottenham Hotspur), Ross Barkley (Everton), Eric Dier (Tottenham Hotspur), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Adam Lallana (Liverpool), James Milner (Liverpool), Raheem Sterling (Manchester City), Jack Wilshere (Arsenal).
Strikers: Wayne Rooney (Manchester United), Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Jamie Vardy (Leicester City), Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United).

Remember when SCH was on County's Badge; Sven was on the TV (all the time) and Russell King was on his walking stick (just about)? Nearly gettingย David Beckham and Sol Campbell walking out in a strop? And all those lies and all that money and then County getting promoted despite it all.
So what really happened the season Munto came to town?
Read the inside story : "Political Football".
So weird you just couldn't make it up.

To keep us all entertained over the next few weeks I'm thinking of holding a prediction league for Euro 16 here.
There are prediction sites out there, but IMO it'd be a shame to take it away from PON. So instead I'm going to steal @weymouthPIE's format and give it a couple of tweaks.
For the group stage I'llย select six matchesย from each round of fixtures in theย group stage and post them a couple of days before they start - so the first round of group games (10-14 June) will be posted on 8 June, the second lot (15-18 June) will be posted on 13 June, etc.ย For every knockout round, all ties will be posted a couple of days before they kick off.ย At the end of each round I'll post the current standings. Banter / claims that it's a fix are welcome.
Obviously it'd be better if you posted your predictions before the matches start. If you're late, I'll only include the matches that haven't kicked off at the time of posting.
The scoring system will be the same: three points for the right score, one for the right result and in each round up to the final you can nominate oneย JOKER, which is counted double. As games are often tight in the knock-out stages and to keep things simple, a penalty shoot-out win will be treated as an extra goal for the winning team. So if England draw 1-1 and lose on penalties, it's treated as a 1-2 defeat. To add some extra spice, the final is counted triple.
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd like to hear them! The prize will be honour, pride and a hairy chip I found down the back of the sofa yesterday. It's just a bit of fun, so get involved!

A good bit of business (again) by Max Eberl for Gladbach. Arsenal have bough Granit Xhaka for โฌ45 million form Gladbach - or according to the idiots in the British media for an undisclosed sum, can't they even read the English version of Borussia's website?)
Gladbach have now spent โฌ15 million of that on Christoph Kramer from the aspirin-makers. So a world cup winner who's already spent 2 years at Borussia on loan and โฌ30 million for a great player (and great servant to Gladbach for 4 years) who doesn't play enough games per season due to suspension.

Well, Drissa Traore signed for Mark Cooper's Forest Green Rovers today.
No bitter comments from me mind. Good luck to them both!

With so much strong feelings both for and against purchasing at the moment , I was wondering how hard is it hitting the club , and how many have stood firm in not getting one yet , what are the thoughts of the community.

Well he's got to be up for a challenge to have taken the job with the current players, nothing really said from his press conferenceย that weย wouldn't usually expect other than we'll be aiming for promotion, however he has stated he will not be replacing Guy Branston but will bring in a chief scout - woah hang on things are actually looking up a proper experienced manager with a proper backroom staff, is this Notts County?ย ????
He will be adding players to squad - we all know we need that, this squad needs major surgery, John Sheridan knows how to build teams for this league so I trust him in performing the surgery.ย
John Sheridan's black and white army..
Hopefullyย the Trews will get us out of the embargo, pay the money we owe if they are sticking aroundย and hopefully the decision to appoint and "back"ย Sheridanย pays off and this time next year the mood will be party time..
Onwards and upwards, can't be as bad as last year, can it?

Right, I'm fed up of all the doom and gloom around here. I had a fantastic weekend and refused toย let Notts spoil it.
In Germany the hated winter break is over and even the Regionalliga Sรผd kicked off again with a top two clash between Waldhof Mannheim and Eintracht Trier at the weekend. I was one of the 11,299 in attendance and now really believe that promotion can happen.
The atmopshere around the place is fantastic and an incredible contrast to Notts at the moment! Waldhof have a young manager in his third full season, a settled, focused team where every player knows his job and youngsters are given a chance and no little experience and qualityย either. Last season they finished 13th (out of 18) and had an average gate of 3,000. Just goes to show what can be achieved on a relatively modest budget.
Have a look at this video and remember this will be Notts again one day. The goals are at 5.08 and 6.18 if you're interested.

Being a Notts site, this place is full of doom and gloom. And that's fine - we all need to sound off. But we need a counterbalance too.
So sod Notts, post something that makes you happy.
Here's some babies laughing.

Hello,ย
I am currently putting together a study on car parking facilities & supporter preferences at all 92 current football league clubs and I would really appreciate a few minutes of your time to complete a short survey.
I'm hoping that this will allow me to put these results forward to some of the clubs in order to help improve the match day experience for supporters.

i am not sure there is any real intent to sell the club.
i just read this article on the posts website about how john sheridans dream of taking us to the championship is music to the ears of ray. it does not read like something that a chairman who has lost interest or decided to sell because he isย annoyed with certain abusers etc would say. i know other fans have felt this way for some time now but i hope its not just a ploy to sell tickets also.
we need to move on from the past 4 seasons and all the silly drama which has came from it.
for me it starts with new owners, not a new manager declaring the same stuff other ex managers have said. are others really that fickle to believe it?

With the BBC reporting that John Sheridan is going to be announced as the new manager, does this give us an indication of what is happening behind the scenes? I'm assuming that Sheridan is still under contract with Oldham so that would mean compensation is being paid? Could this mean one of two things? The take over is finally happening, or has Ray Trew tidied up the toys and is going to have one more crack at it? I can't imagine that this appointment would be made if it was the case of Trew just letting the club bobble on by?

Wot the title sez. They play-offs kicked off last night, with Plymouth drawing 2-2 at Portsmouth. But who's going up? Anyone who predicts this right wins a lock of my hair.
Championship: Brighton
League One: Bradford
League Two: Accrington
