I’m hoping this will be a more open game than last night at Morecambe with a few goals scored but hopefully more in their goal. It’d be good if Langstaff could get his first league goal and I’d like to see McGoldrick get one as well he was close last night on a couple of occasions.

I’ll let Luke Williams choose the line up I feel he knows better than me. :joker:

Apparently more than 2,000 away tickets have already been sold so it'll be a belting atmosphere.

I'd expect Doncaster to be a bit more ambitious than Morecambe were. They've had a bad start but got a draw against Mansfield, so that's a sign of life. Wanted: an early Notts goal to calm the nerves, then we'll be swinging.

i think its a good chance to get 3 more points on the table, doncaster are struggling right now and its the right point to play them. their first two games they played quite poorly, i was not impressed with what i saw but in their last match they did show a lot more character.

well i will be driving down with @TheSkipper and @CliftonMagpie.

i also know @Chris, @Callum234 and @super_pie are also going.

I would like to see Adam Chicksen out wide, rather than in the middle. If Richard Brindley is fit enough, I would certainly have him in the middle of the back three. I also agree with the article by @TheSkipper that John Bostock is a must because of the height Doncaster have. I suspect that they will be physical too, so we need all the grit we can get. I feel Doncaster are there for the taking and if the squad works hard enough, we should come back with a good result.

I hope we can improve the number of shots we get on target. Luke Williams will know who is best to play, and I wouldn’t know who to suggest. I have seen some fans calling for Macaulay Langstaff to be dropped, but he’s not the problem. The issue is playing him into the game.

Doncaster is a fantastic ground to visit, and it’s always an excellent away day. I’m hoping for a good game, and if Notts play to their potential, there’s no reason why they can’t come away with a win. It might take a few more games before we start winning away from home on a consistent basis, but the possession stats show that things are moving in the right direction. Not conceding against Morecambe is also a blessing, and I hope we can protect our undefeated run of two games. With hard work and determination, anything is possible!

I enjoyed my visit to Doncaster the last time I was there, Joss Labadie scored from a kick free.

My two eldest children were also in fancy dress, Ellie as a princess and Jake as a pirate. With it being the final game of that season, everyone went dressed up, and it's those days I really miss around Notts.

Looking at Doncaster Rovers, you would be right in feeling that we should be able to make something of the game.

However, just like us and how we have all been saying it's early days. We can't let their results judge our opinion on how things should go, because we need to expect the unexpected at this stage. I am hoping Luke Williams does include John Bostock, his absence I feel is missing, and I love Jim O'Brien, but I feel this is one of the games where he is best suited to coming on from off the bench if needed.

Macaulay Langstaff must start, dropping him because we haven't found the quality to get him involved as much would just be negative, and I think it's more crucial that we persist because strikers as good as he is always eventually turn things around. It's not as if he's been poor or hasn't been trying his best.

I think the squad largely chooses itself here, I like Jodi Jones starting, but I do also agree that Adam Chicksen would offer us something less predictable.

It would mean that Jodi Jones wouldn't start, but I feel it's worth experimenting with the impact he makes coming on from off the bench just for this game. Get it into his head, that we need that extra bit of quality and them being more tired would maximise his threat.

I'm nervous that my getting Chicksen's name and number on my shirt has condemned him to a season on the bench!

I've not been to the new-ish stadium and I'm looking forward to a big Notts crowd.
There's been a lot of money spent in what was always a grotty town centre (think how Mansfield or Worksop was, and it was worse than either). So I'm going to wander around the market and check out the street food stalls for lunch.

This has banana skin written all over it. Doncaster were poor in their first two games but found their form in the draw against Mansfield. They did all the things that cause huge problems for Notts in defence. Another goal fest I reckon. Hopefully Notts come out the right side of it. I think there'll be 5 or 6 goals in this game.

I think it will be difficult for Doncaster Rovers playing at home, but the fans in attendance need to continue their amazing support. Those who moan and have already forgotten how far we have come in such a short time under the Reedtz brothers should do us a favour and stay at home on their computer or phone! The club does not need this while they are transitioning to the football league.

Don’t get me wrong, I believe Notts could put together a fantastic display and win. I am just concerned that they will do whatever it takes to prevent us from creating the clear chances we need to score.

I'm just as excited for this game, Notts vs Doncaster definitely promises to deliver an exciting match. Let's hope Notts puts up a solid team effort. An early goal would surely lift the spirits and set the momentum in our favour!

Looking forward to the game! Doncaster Rovers haven't had a great start, but Notts mustn't get too comfortable. We need to stay focused, score well, and keep our defence strong.

This match is a challenge for Luke Williams' choices in the lineup. Langstaff will be watched closely, but I'm confident he'll step up and show his skills.

I fully agree with the sentiment of not underestimating Doncaster Rovers. Despite their poor start, I believe they won't be an easy opponent. It's essential for Notts to start strong and maintain the momentum throughout the match. An early goal should help set the tone for the rest of the game.

When thinking about the upcoming match I feel Williams should keep an eye on consolidating our offense. Notts' performance has shown growth lately, but we also need to ensure scoring opportunities are being capitalised. Equally important is ensuring our defence isn't compromised. McGoldrick has shown great form recently, and teaming him up with Langstaff could be promising. Doncaster may be struggling recently, but underestimating them would be folly. Tricky game ahead, but one filled with opportunity.

The upcoming match will serve as a valuable gauge of Notts' development. While Doncaster Rovers are facing challenges, there remains a possibility of an unexpected reversal. The crucial factor is approaching each moment of the game with earnestness, irrespective of the opposing team's present form.

I'm uncertain about what to anticipate from Doncaster; I've been watching teams' highlights on YouTube. The EFL appears to favor Notts and Wrexham on their League Two channel. I usually check the scores after games and choose to watch the ones that catch my interest. Doncaster's initial struggles provide added motivation to secure a victory. From what I've observed, they don't seem to be performing poorly enough to remain in that position for long. The upcoming match could pose challenges for Notts; however, it's crucial to win, especially with only 4 points from 3 games.

i think we could win either 0-1 or 0-2 depending on how many chances we create.

i hope the games open but in a way where notts can hold onto the ball more than doncaster, i dont think there is any room for mistakes which cant be redeemed. i am very much looking forward to making this game.

I am among the 2500 fans embarking on the journey to Doncaster tomorrow, and I'll be accompanied by a friend who isn't particularly interested in football. I believe this match offers Notts a favorable opportunity to secure points on the table, a viewpoint I concur with. If Notts manages to unsettle them, their position in the league could work to our advantage. If they become frustrated and agitated, it might result in errors and potential opportunities for us. Our ability to craft better chances needs to be enhanced, and we must capitalize on any clear opportunities that come our way.

I understand, I understand, fans often emphasise the impact of an early goal, and in our case, scoring one against Doncaster could have a significant effect. It would grant Notts the advantage and relieve them of the need to constantly create opportunities, allowing them to focus on executing quality football. Such an early goal would place Notts in a proactive position and facilitate their integration into the flow of the match.

My confidence in our defensive capabilities remains steady; I anticipate Doncaster will provide opportunities for us to play, aiming to exploit areas where we struggle to maintain possession. However, we must assert ourselves to force Doncaster into granting us playing space. By pressing them to retreat, we can create expanses of open field.

I am excited about this game! Doncaster Rovers haven't had the best of starts to this season, which presents a golden opportunity for Notts to grab a win. However, Doncaster Rovers won't go down without a fight, especially playing at home. The key will be to exploit their weakness but also, avoid complacency.

Interesting matchup ahead! I'm optimistic about our chances of a win against Doncaster Rovers. But it's vital to keep our guard up and approach this match with full intensity. The team dynamics seem promising; just a matter of converting that into the much-needed goal.
