Anyone else on PON been to a university?

Just curious, it makes little difference if you have or not but I am curious as to if anyone on PON has been to uni?

No, I briefly went to college, but the tutor wouldn't turn up and eventually I decided just to focus on working. I am considering doing some night or online courses in web development, maybe media, but I haven't been to university.

A field where dreams become reality.

I almost did, however I couldn't afford the fees and in hindsight I have had a better career due to the opportunity of training within work.

I didn't go to uni but i did go to college. College fees were funded by the government where as uni fees wouldnt have been. I do wish i could go back and complete the last course in college but its no longer funded as i'm over 25 so i cant.

Back in my day I wouldn't have been allowed or expected to go, thankfully things have changed but I was more like my father. Learn from working and do well as you can with that.

I went to Coventry University and got a bachelor's in German and International Relations. Loved the place and the course (sadly the faculty is no more) and it certainly improved my employment prospects. In contrast to some unis it was a very down-to-earth place too. Was in work for a few years beforehand and it was going nowhere so it was a good move for me.

Mine was the first generation of my family to go to uni - I come from a mining family so don't ever think it's not for you. If you have the chance and an idea of what you want to do, get yourself qualified.

I do want to go to Uni, I will be going college once I finish school but I do believe education is the best way forward in life.

I am currently studying with the OU part-time as I work full-time.

I'm 2/3rds the way through, so just about to start the final year (which being part-time will take me 2 years).
