Chesterfield have secured the loan signing of Nathan Tyson until end of the season.

His body language the last few times that I have seen him, well, it told a story. I know he spoke to @NottsGeezer - he also told me that he wanted to be playing and felt 'disappointed' that he didn't get much game time after his injury. I hope this loan move works for him, as I thought he might consider hanging up his boots.

It makes sense for Nathan Tyson to get minutes, he's not guaranteed to start and it could help Notts by freeing up some money to cover elsewhere. I don't see any more signings being made though.

im a bit annoyed but with dennis struggling to start, i think we could cope. issue is if one or more of our strikers get injured.

good luck to tyson.

Someone younger might be lined up that are happier keeping the bench warm. I don't fault Tyson wanting to play, I wish him well.

Neal Ardley will learn to go for quality instead of quantity if he can't give any reassurances to players that they will get game time.

It makes a change that we aren't signing their players, instead it's ours going to them. I don't think Nathan Tyson would feature much more, if Notts needs a striker stick Enzio up there.

Who needs a reserve team when you’ve got a struggling Chesterfield team just down the road!?

Somewhere for him to get more game time but i am surprised as he has been in the team alot.

Good luck to Nathan Tyson.

I must admit, I can't help but feel this is a risk which could backfire even if he does have an option to be recalled. It's just like starting a game with no available keeper on the bench.

If Notts is fine, then it’s for the best. Tyson must have wanted to start games, if he helps Chesterfield then he should be happier. His deal ends at the end of this season anyway.

To be honest, I don’t mind. I thought Tyson did ok but he’s passed it. Notts already has Michael Doyle. There’s experience, then it’s veterans and to move forward the club needs to let go of the clutter.

Good luck to him, I don't think his game time per minutes would have been attractive.

I don't blame him for wanting to play, in fact I wish him well. Likewise, I don't feel as if the club pushed him out. It's just a simple fact over the course of the season we have adapted and unfortunately he's fallen behind the pecking order. His injury will have something to do with it, as before it Tyson did play well but at 38-years-old we can afford to be choosy.

It probably eases things that fitz has been recalled and a striker wanting to play goes there too.

It would be annoying to see wootton get injured, only for the same to happen again.

Neal Ardley has mentioned that he's thinking about signing another striker which is fair enough, but it comes across as bad management when he doesn't play one he signed.

Posted

Tyson should be guaranteed more time at Chesterfield, they lack goals and he could help if he puts himself about a lot.

Posted

Sounds fair enough to me. It's natural and understandable that he wants game time, and with our other strikers all on or close to double figures, who would you drop to accommodate him?

Also, if one of them does get injured we can recall him at any time, and if he's had match practice he'll hopefully be a bit sharper.

With Cal Roberts' goalscoring record, I wonder if NA is thinking about playing him as a striker as an alternative up top?

If Tyson is needed, he will be back no doubt.

He's good for him to be playing, instead of being unhappy and it effecting others.

It's a good move for Nathan Tyson, it prolongs his career a bit longer.

Good luck to Nathan Tyson, I think it’s unlikely he will be back but he may secure a deal with Chesterfield.

Thinking about it now that Notts are linked with another winger/striker, the signing of Nathan Tyson seems like a panic buy due to the amount of days the club had to work. Does anyone know how he's getting on?
