FA Trophy Quarter finals

So we have been drawn at home Vs Aveley FC.

They’ll be well up for this game and we need to treat them with respect and take the game seriously.

I seriously dislike how the cup fever has made people think we are entitled to winning due to our sheer size.

I don't care if we ended up winning the FA Trophy, if it means bragging about winning it and the FA Cup. It just highlights how poor we have been in recent years, whilst on the other end it shows we can do well in a cup. I would have preferred a decent FA Cup run myself, it's worth more in revenue but some turned their noses up at that. It's all about opinions at the end of the day, but if we win, it will be cause we earned it - not due to our stature or size.

I am seeing more interest expressed in the cup, I hope people don't judge others for showing the FA Trophy more attention and just focus on the club.

One of the better teams Notts could have been drawn against, its different but Notts needs to learn from some of the teams that think they’ll win ahead of games that have been played.

Good draw for both teams, I cringe a little when I see how they've reacted but we are a big team in a small pond.

They should make the game one to remember at least.

It makes a difference to be drawn at home for once, it should be a good cup match. I assume the Pavis will be the only home stand open?

You have to hope that they let the occasion go to their heads, and that they underestimate us. They're quite far down the pyramid of English football, so we need to approach the game respectfully.

good draw i agree, i think the game will be lively and i am sure they will be well up for it.

Pleased, at this stage of the contest more people need to take seriously. Myself included because there's a good chance of winning it.

I think Notts should be fine if they try to play the game like we watched against Chesterfield, take the chances that come. Whoever makes the Semis will have deserved to get that far.

I'm still not fussed, getting into the FL again is my main focus but I hope the players enjoy this.

I think they will think our eye will be on the league too.

If Notts win so be it, the competition means little and I’m hoping the underdogs do well.

Notts at Wembley tends to be a sign of better things to come, it would be nice to go back. For those who put no importance on this, think about what happens if Notts wins it and make the playoff final.

That excitement and experience will just be empowering.

This.

I look at it as a slight distraction from the league campaign, but in all fairness, they’ll be fans out there who have never seen Notts play at a large stadium, never mind ever playing at Wembley.

It’s not the FL play off finals, but those memories stay with you forever, so for younger fans, I say enjoy the experience if we get there.

Now if we’re there twice this season due to playoffs and the cup, then what a couple of weeks that will be!

It's a good draw, I would have been happy with any of the remaining teams. I am not fussed about the competition I openly admit but it would be exciting to think that this could inspire the players to perform at their very best.

If they did win at wembley it would be a great achievement for Notts and something to look back after last season, which would put the players minds in a better mood to play good football.

Posted

I'm looking forward to the game, it should be a good one for both teams. I do hope they come determined to play football and not play dirty like some of these lower league teams.

It's a **** tie, in a poor competition.

I'm not remotely bothered how Notts does in it, I would rather remain 100% focused on getting into the highest playoff place possible.

I will be at the game hoping Notts can add some further history to the clubs name, the teams got this far, they might as well win it now.

Posted

Win or lose, the club still has the playoffs. Wembley would be nice but I don't think the game has a lot of importance in truth.

The draws okay, I wish the underdogs all the best.

We need to treat the opposition with respect and take the game seriously. We are just two wins away from Wembley now, and I am totally up for a trip to Wembley. Let's win every game and get a trophy to go next to the Anglo-Italian Cup. With a little luck we might never have another chance ;)

We need to extract every last bit of fun and glory out of this season that we can. It's also worth considering that the final (if we make it) is a week after the play-off final. If it all goes pear-shaped with promotion, a trip to Wembley and maybe a trophy would take us into next season on a high instead of a play-off hangover.

If Notts wins, I believe two more will be postponed.

The final is the week after the play-off final, long after the regular league has finished. So if we win, there will be only one extra match to fit in to our schedule (provided we don't draw).

If we do reach the semi-finals, we will therefore have nothing to lose, so why not gun for glory and a cup? You only live once.
