Notts County's CEO Jason Turner has published a statement via the official clubs website.

Chief Executive Jason Turner has released the following statement after the Vanarama National League today granted AFC Fylde’s proposal to rearrange our twice-postponed trip to Mill Farm for next Tuesday (3 March, kick-off 7.45pm) despite our repeated strong objections.

It's disappointing, as the NL haven't taken into consideration anything but what I deem to be excuses.

Surely, we are the ones at the disadvantage?

I feel for the fans who have travelled to the game, I honestly do believe the officials and AFC Fylde should be fined. The fixture shouldn't even be proceeding at their ground if a third tie ends up being postponed action must be taken. In the Football League, I believe they would have made the club find an alternative venue.

I can see it easily happening again.

Well done to Jason Turner for standing up for the club and the fans, that is all we can ask.

If it was the first time fair enough, but what about us? We’re the ones being messed about by their crap pitch.

Reading between the lines, I think the league will have told them to make sure it doesn't happen again. They can't control the weather but as a club, they could be more prepared.

Taking the cover off the pitch well before the kick off seems risky.

The club could have done their pitch refurbishments sooner, so I would assume they have been warned.

Good to see Notts tried, I feel this is more to prevent the club having any sort of whiplash more than anything.

Posted

After the issues, the National League could have been more fairer to Notts but I have a feeling they don’t want to be seen doing a big club any favours.

The club has every right to voice their opinion, I do feel the National League should have listened more to Notts but at this stage we have to get on with it.

There's nothing else that can be done by us.

the clubs done all it can, not much else to be said. i think they need to be warned about future postponements tho.

Posted

It’s a joke, I won’t be giving them any of my money in the future.

Posted

It's good of them to do that, it's the least they could do considering. It should all be dropped now, some people take things too far.

Posted

It needs to be dropped, some fans won't but it's pathetic to moan so much about something. They have made a gesture of goodwill, yes it's annoying that the game(s) got postponed but focus needs to be on Notts not them.

Posted

It would of been more ideal to be a different time but its that date now so hopefully it all goes ahead.

No pitch inspection supposedly is expected today, will the game go ahead?

Here are their highlights from Saturday. They have patched up the bit that was causing the most problems, but as you can see, it's not a great playing surface. There's a lot of sand on there. Check out the goal areas. As long as it is dry, it should be OK. That pitch will be like quicksand if it rains though.

It looks like it's happening, if it rains and ends up being called off it will be a new low.

Got there in the end, the pitch looked crap still but the game was playable.

Posted

Did many travel in the end? I heard them clearly on the radio at the end :D I virtually doff my cap to every one of you, you're all crackers!

Posted

I wonder if they regret not doing more to make the pitch playable? It was a good win. Ugly but good.

I know a lot of those that made the journey, a few who post here did - hopefully it was with it.

Pleased those who said they wouldn't, managed to go still.
