We have offers

Let it be true and happen ASAP. It could be enough to start to get the club where it needs to be.

I get that people are sceptical of the news, however Alan Hardy isn't exactly lying about offers and he most certainly is yet to hype such takeovers that ultimately don't happen.

Based on these reasons I feel that it deserves some merit for the way he's concluded the takeover so far.

I wouldn't get optimistic, however, I do hope things I have been told comes true. Just another point, if the takeover does drag itself out - remember firstly the media tend to make a meal of such events. Potential buyers can turn into snowflakes and time wasters, I just hope that Alan Hardy manages to sell the club to the right person. The key thing the club needs is stability. Honestly, if the next owner talks of five-year-plans or find the next Jimmy Sirrel. I will swear that anyone advising the club needs to go. There's no gimmicks required, just talk the talk.

I hope a takeover goes ahead soon as notts needs someone whos got loads of money and no matter how much Alan Hardy wanted to help when he first took over, it just didn't work out.

After yesterday's performance and given the more likely we look like going down I'm surprised it hasn't put buyers off, but there you go.

Rumours that a former Notts director Ian Roberts heading a consortium of other local businessmen might be one of the offers.

And the interest from the Notts Fan, I think with an events business, was genuine.

I don't know if the Aussie's were tied in with him? But I'm sure they attended a game a couple of weeks back.

I'm sure we'll find out more in the coming days...

@menzinho When you buy a football club it's a long-term investment, so the division we're in might not matter as much. It's not as if we're a good bet for the riches of the Premier League either way.

I hadn't heard of Ian Roberts before, but he appears to be president of Nottingham City Business Club, so presumably has good connections. Hopefully we'll find out soon.

He's not very trustworthy in my opinion.

I have heard him bad mouthing previous owners in the past, moaning about how his investment offers had been rejected and seems worse than what fans fear of Alan Hardy. I would hope the he is not allowed anywhere near the club, some fans are fickle enough without the owner being like that.

I'm sure more information will be available when the offers are looked into.

please be someone with real money and plenty of it, i am not sure ian roberts and a group of business people would be in the clubs best interest. if he could afford the club why did he not buy from off the trews?

we would be better off with alan hardy i think.

If the Edge fund a few years ago didn't want to take on Notts, I fail to see how he could do better.

65-80 million preferably is what the next owner has at the minimum, people always suggested AH didn't have enough money and the rate Notts loses it someone with deep pockets is needed.

Can we dream that the takeover could be finalised during the week or shortly after?

@liampie how is he going to be able to keep funding the 30k a week, when one of his companies is in administration???? Maybe potential for a domino effect that could bring down Notts?

Anyone who put interest in and didnt follow through, might aswell not bother. How much does he want for notts tho?

All I hope for an owner who is steady.

Ever since Munto (RT & AH), we've had owners who come up with these 3 or 5 year plans, throw money at a squad and when it doesn't work either throw a hissy fit and/or self implode, with owners and relatives engaging on social media.

Someone who stays out of the limelight, wants to improve our standing off the pitch (training ground?!), continue with what AH has done with improving ML facilities and improving crowds.

Any new news on this?

This is exactly what's needed, however, for me - I would rather the money be spent on the squad and then the catering side.

Once the promotion is earned back to League One, then I think a training ground and other aspects should be focused on. At this level, it would be a luxury and it wouldn't make much difference on match days.

A proper training ground is needed but the squad being good enough needs to come first.

Posted

A training ground in League Two seems a waste when the facilities at Basford United are perfect for what is needed, they might as well just train there for now.

The owners first job is looking at bringing in revenue, not how to blow more money and pile further debts.

needs to be resolved asap, i think it will be a factor in safety or relegation.

The offers need to hurry up. No ones going to want a relegated club.

Still no official offers yet I gather I can tell you the staff at meadow lane know as much as we do unfortunately. I hope we hear something soon.

It's all talk, if it's due to take another month I guess the talks aren't that advanced. It does take time but if its a case of finalising, I would have assumed this meant one or two weeks at the most.

I suspect the buyers might be waiting to see what division Notts are in.
