  1. It's to be expected that PON may face a few issues, such as bugs and things that are not quite right. I ask members to notify me in order for anything to be resolved, if I am unaware of problems then it is likely that they may go unnoticed.

If you could post below any matters which may arise, I will investigate and have them resolved ASAP.

Members who are unable to respond to this topic, feel free to PM me directly or you can also e-mail me - Here.

I hope that PON will resume normal service within a couple of days time, so please do bare with me whilst these changes are implemented and the sites operation is handled as smoothly as possible. This is more a scenario of 'what if', however since the upgrade is a major one - I do expect a few problems but nothing in which PON cannot handle.

    Regards,
    Notts-Joe

  2. I thought it would be interesting to see which ex player got the most mentions from the community.

So, which ex player is your favourite from having met in person? feel free to include the stories attached, I am sure it would be interesting to read.

  3. The other thread has got me thinking (generally not a good idea according to my family). Some members, e.g. @Riverleeno, @ohstanleyaborah, @Altin Lala, @Super_Danny_Allsopp etc. use a footballer's name as a username.

I think for me (as an Evertonian of that era) it would be Howard Kendall.

  4. ... and the 3 where you would draw the curtains if they took place in your back garden.

    Best:

    1. Football

    2. Horse Racing

    3. Cricket

    Worst:

    1. Motor Racing (or any motor sport)

    2. Boxing

    3. Ice Hockey (or any American sport)

  5. I thought I'd start this now as we're all feeling a little more optimistic. However, the runaway league-leaders away is not who we would want to play now. If JF had still been what is laughingly called 'in charge', I would have suggested not turning up and taking the 3-0 defeat plus the fine.

But... with MC at the helm, I think I'd reward today's starting 11 with another game, continuity and showing belief in players low on confidence.

  6. Should Fullarton remain as the Notts manager?

We have gone completely backwards, yes we got 2 back tonight but this is even worse than Derry, many will know that I like to be optimistic but Jamie has nose dived us.

Under RM the away results and defence were bad but we were entertained, I often looked forward to going to the lane, even under Derry we were hard to beat.

I am not one to call for a managers head but he was the wrong man from day 1, he is clearly hiding something regarding aborah, the defence isnt that much better and the football is dreadful

I don't think he will be sacked but sooner or later it will become a financial issue.

  7. I'm unsure when he is out of contract but would you give him another chance ? He hasn't played all season but he is still young, he is currently out with an ACL injury, he didn't look amazing under Derry but do you give him a chance to see what he's got or do you just let his contract run down and let him go?

  8. What do you think? Should Notts offer him a new deal?

    1. 1. Does Liam Noble deserve to be offered a new contract from Mark Cooper?

      • Yes! He's a good player.
        10
      • If Mark Cooper extends his stay, yes.
        1
      • Only if he improves his performances.
        2
      • No, I think we should let him go.

  9. With Notts being away, it's not been exciting or anything at my end but I'm curious about what the community have been up to?

  10. Just after the ref blows his whistle for half time in this game I should be jetting off to Portugal, so I won't be using my season ticket.  Rather than let it go to waste I wondered if anyone on here would like to make use of it.  It's a prime seat near the centre of the Main Stand with an excellent view but there is one slight drawback - I am now getting on a bit so it's a Senior ticket.  That means the user should be 60+ even though they never seem to check age - I look late thirties at worst (from a distance anyway)!!!  If anyone on here wants to take a Notts fan who maybe can't afford it then they are welcome to my ticket.   You don't have to sit in the specified seat, there are invariably plenty of spare seats close by so you could sit together.  If anyone is interested leave word on here or use the message facility and I'll post you the ST card.

lets be perfectly honest here something is not right.

If you were buying a business for millions of pounds would you let the person you were buying it from appoint 2 people into possibly 2 of the most vital positions in the organisation (Cooper & The chief exec) course you wouldn't. if you were taking ownership of notts later this week you would tell ray trew to let you be the one to fire JF and automatically be in favour with the fans. Would you let a man leaving the organisation to appoint a chief exec who is basically going to run your £5m pound asset day to day? No - No you wouldn't - the whole thing stinks.

I am not on here berating ray or aileen far from it, the facts indicate that something isn't quite right. The one thing the board need to be at this moment is transparent, 80% of the fan base has had enough of whats been put before them this season. Be straight with people, this is our football club you are the custodians and quite frankly everyone has had enough of the smoke and horsepoo that has been offered at times.

Any chance of some actual facts?

Saw this on NCM from a poster called 'TrentEndTrev', and I tend to agree with it.

At times this takeover business has been Munto-esque. It's all a bit cloak and dagger behind the scenes, talk of first Danish billionaires, then some strange American wrestling takeover, then people flying in from China? What is going on? Throw in Alan Hardy into the mix and his tweets, something is amiss surely?

Meanwhile, the Trews have dismantled the backroom staff and are appointing new ones? What? Do the Trews actually want to sell, or are they just seeking further investment?

  12. People who own football clubs are judged firstly on their money, then the investments they make and the decisions which come from that. Most Notts do appreciate the Trews no matter what, they have saved the club but the club just does not progress under Rays stewardship.

I keep reading the word "messiah" when it comes to talk about new owners.

For me it's false, I want to faith in the direction the club is forgoing and to be understood when things are not working, which has often been the case in these past six years. Where do you stand with regards to this?

  13. Now we've reached the semi-final stage and England have got past Afghanistan, South Africa and Sri Lanka, who will win?

One thing for sure it won't be Australia!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I fancy England to beat New Zealand, given the semi is at Dehli which has a bit of pace in it, but lose to India in the final (unless Kohli is injured)

  15. The link below is to MS Dhoni's response to a journalist asking him if it was time for him to retire after India's semi-final loss to the West Indies. It is sheer genius. This, of course, from the sportsman with arguably the most scrutinised position in the world. He is a lovely bloke. He had a few friendly words with @Blackville before a test at Trent Bridge a few years ago and gave him his autograph.

  18. Okay, it's that time again. PON's Member(s) of the Month!

Next time look out for voting around the 23rd April, we will bring back the voting stage and possibly nominations.

Team Member of the Month - @ohstanleyaborah

Consistently working hard to represent the community (as does each team member) but Oh Stanley has just notched over the expectations this month and has really continued to post some interesting comments.

NewPie of the Month - @TheFostarr94

Arrived out of the blue but has settled in quite well, TF94 has featured in one of most recent 'Meet the Fans' and has contributed quite a bit since joining Pride of Nottingham.

    And now.......

Member of the Month - @Fozzy

It's quite difficult to single out just one member, however since Fozzy arrived we have seen a very consistent member. Posting comments and starting discussions which really does help the community, keep up the good work!

I would like to thank all the members for their continued support, including visitors and those who donated over the past few months.

Please take time to spread some 'community' cheer and congratulate each member for their achievements this past month.

    You Pies!!

  19. I've just been on the phone to "Mike Strutter" and I'm pleased to announce that he has informed me that he's got some exclusive PON merchandise. No need to let things grind you down any more! @Super_Danny_Allsopp put that popcorn down.

I present to you... The PON Strutter Bubble.

  20. Interesting article - http://offsiderulepodcast.com/2016/03/30/midweek-muse-help-the-aged-the-decline-of-notts-county-the-football-leagues-oldest-club659/

I won't copy the text, I feel it deserves the visit and read.

Do you see any cause for hope in your club’s immediate future? What do you think needs to be done to get things looking up again?

  21. We have two new members to welcome to the community - @Happy Elf and @mr_notts_county. Hope you both enjoy using PON!

Is Happy Elf really an elf? Mr Notts County is a name I recognise from another forum, and maybe even Rivals? Feel free to tell us a bit about yourselves!

BTW, if you want a quicker overview of the forums, use the dashboard (under the Community tab).

  22. Welcome to PON @Tony Wood, hope you enjoy being apart of the site.

Feel free to tell us a little bit about yourself. COYP

  23. Just seen a tweet with a brief 30 second snippet from Nobsa and in it he states that JF did not want to speak to the under 24s, he would only speak to the experienced players.

Nothing like making you feel wanted!

Full interview is apparently this evening at 5:30 on Notts TV.
