Party now in Modena maybe!

Balint Bajner (44) has signed for Modena in the Italian third tier #NoBajnerNoParty

After the nightmare draw in last season's Champions League, it's same again this year:

Barcelona, Man City, Celtic and Gladbach. First game at Manchester on Tuesday Sept 13th, if anyone wants tickets let me know asap.

FILIP Valencic CONTRACT WITH PS KEMI

07/27/2016
24-year-old Slovenian  Filip Valencic has made a 1 + 1 year contract with PS Kemi.

http://www.nottinghampost.com/john-sheridan-keen-to-move-on-notts-county-players-who-do-not-figure-in-his-plans-for-next-season/story-29555571-detail/story.html

With John Sheridan "keen" to move a few on, who do we expect to leave?

I wouldn't be surprised if we see a couple of youth players such as Gibson go out on loan. Graham Burke is a player I want to do well but he seems like De Silva in that he has bags of talent but seems more of a luxury player, he can watch games go by coupled with the fact he can be lazy but I feel he may be one of the players we end up letting go. Izale Mcleod, goalscorer on his day he can tear teams apart in this league but again he can be lazy and had a bad end to the season however it's worth noting he did NOT have a pre season last year and maybe that's why he ran out of steam towards the second half of the season, can't see him leaving due Forte being injury prone, Stead picks up yellow cards, so we need that other proven striker, hopefully he will come good this season. We've still got Rob Milsom but he is always injured so that could force the end of his Notts days.

Well as the title suggests I'm still exploring PoN after a few months of joining . Not a prolific user of social media , as I've no doubt mentioned before lol.

Was reading an article by JJ from 2013 a few mins ago about our old goalkeeper Raddy Avramovic , and brilliant it was to , so just wanted to give a huge pat on the back to you all at PoN and say keep up the good work you do , and all you contributors the same its a great site , and to finish just by saying a word of encouragement to newer members , explore and enjoy , I can say for sure you'll really enjoy it .

Would love to hear your thoughts .

  • A very good win yesterday, we always seem to jump into life once we concede, but that shows the spirit in the team that they can get themselves back in the game so quickly, what a goal from Adam Campbell! I've heard he's been a changed man in the past two games! If we can keep this run going at the San Sirrel theres no reason why we can't be in the play-offs after accy Stanley

Cracking result yesterday, superb fightback again. First half was a real borefest, literally nothing of note happened and I couldn't really see either side coring. So I certainly didn't expect such a turnaround when we conceeded within a minute of the restart, but it certainly seemed to wake us up! Two quick goals turned it around. Crawley had a couple of guilt edge chances to level things up, but they seemed to run out of ideas, and to be honest we were comfortable for the final 15 minutes. The penalty killed it off, and it could have been four were it not for that lick of paint on the post. Really hope these two away wins will really kick start our season. Nevermind Wednesday night, think you'll do well to find one fan who cares about that, its all about the Grimsby game Saturday. Get a win over them and start to build some serious momentum

Satrday's Fixtures:
Barnsley v Rotherham United
Bristol City v Aston Villa
MK Dons v Peterborough United
Port Vale v Scunthorpe United
Cambridge nited v Luton Town
Exeter City v Portsmouth

Doesn't look very good for ex-Notts Shaun Derry.

Izale McLeod has left the building:

He did score 10 goals, but surely he'll go down in history as a massive let-down. Will be interesting to see who comes in now, we're a bit short of options up front.

Notts County have published their periodic piece where CEO Jason Turner discusses a number of points at the club, including the results so far, incoming and outgoing players, where the team will train this season, the reserve team, shirts on sale in the club shop and much more.

You can read it here: http://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/jason-turner-notts-county-3259402.aspx

So... what do you think about what he has to say? Let PON know!

Do you watch any non-league football when you're not following Notts? What's your favourite "other" team? Have you got a favourite non-league ground?

I used to watch Retford United a lot, saw them rise from the Central Midlands League to the Evo-Stik Premier. I spent more time than was good for me standing on a grassy embankment in an exposed field. I also got the chance to visit places like Alfreton, Eastwood and Nettleham and stand in a rusty bus shelter the main stand at Harworth Colliery. They now play in the North East Counties League and are being slightly hampered by their habit of giving the opposition a five-goal head start.

What a fantastic job @Andybeag & @jimmywillan did getting a headstone in place for our 1894 hero Jimmy Logan.

I stumbled across this well-written review of our start to the season on the Leftlion site. It's worth a look. (Click the text to open the link.)

He's also right that very few people feel that this could be "our year". A win or two at the start of the season might have kept the fantasy alive, but it's already clear we have a lot of catching up to do.

Notts:

Loach, ..8 Rock solid, made some great saves..continued good form from Reserves last season

Richards, 5 competent

Hewitt 5 playing centre half, did OK

Hollis 5 typical Hollis performance, did some good talking to the youngsters as regards positioning

Milsom  5  regaining fitness (McMillan 46 still seems too lightweight to offer hope ’),

Snijders 5.5 good run and shot but found it difficult to beat his man most of the time

Wildin  5 ... game away needless penalty, still learning (Edwards 77'),...normal Edwards expected performance

Atkinson 6 great goal ,competent

Burke 5.5 well taken penalty, some petulance too

Oliver 5 not a stand out performance, won a penalty but it was Snijders pass that really won it (Gibson 77’) 5 not enough time to impress

Mellors-Blair  4 too lightweight (Smith 7 bossed the midfield...first time I have given Smudge such a high mark!

Hartlepool United have some real gems within their squad, which the majority of Notts fans would have seen last season - as their midfield have the ability to change any game.

They've started the season off well, currently sitting 7th with 5 points from 3 games.

Majority will most likely write them off, as it seems even the media go this far but they've got more than a decent midfield. Their squad know how to play together and last term, at least for me their problems was found within their defence and goalkeeper (who is good but he lost his head more times than he didn't).

I don't see this being 'easy' for us, if we go into this game thinking we will wipe the floor with them - I guarantee it won't be.

I see a draw or another loss, my head says 2-2 but I could easily see them scoring a 3rd.

Which Notts players would you select for the game? Score predictions? Thoughts?

Saturday's Fixtures:
Birmingham City v Wolverhampton Wanderers
Huddersfield Town v Barnsley
Bury v Oldham Athletic
Walsall v Charlton Athletic
Cambridge United v Carlisle United
Stevenage v Luton Town

I can't see the guy improving, he stands out as one of them who will not win with the more vocal fans but he just isn't good enough. At League One there could be more of a case for retaining him, but we sunk to this division and he's gotten worse not better.
