Who was your man of the match for Notts County against Hartlepool?
Every season, most Premier League clubs sack their managers out of fear of going down. Yesterday I stumbled across an interesting article on how this can be solved: promote and relegate more teams.
Obviously relegating 10 teams would be excessive, but six would be possible. At the moment, struggling top flight clubs are terrified of the drop. So they sack their managers and coaching teams every season. There can't be any question of long-term planning in a climate like that, nor of developing their own young players - experienced, "complete" players from other clubs are the order of the day. Relegating more teams could help take the stigma away from relegation, while it would be easier to win promotion too. Clubs would be more willing to stick with a manager and a plan through relegation as it would no longer be the massive set-back it is today.
What do you all think? And would it be workable further down too?

With Notts County captain Michael O'Connor still suspended, Kevin Nolan could make his first start for the club as a player by lining up in midfield against Hartlepool United.
Would you like to see him don the shirt? Or should he stick to leading things from the touchline?

Alan Hardy confirmed on Tuesday that Notts County season ticket renewals would be frozen in price until April 30.
This decision has polarised supporters - some applauded Alan Hardy for keeping his word on incentives for existing ST holders, while others complained about the ensuing price increase (which he also confirmed on Twitter), or the deadline being too soon.
Let's put it out to you guys - what do you think?

Would you like to see Notts working with a parent club? Enabling us to get some better youngsters or reserve players into the club.
Hardy recently tweeted that he had challenged the academy to get some higher profile games, which they achieved but I would like to see us networking better with other clubs. Get some quality in and see if this can encourage the crop of talent we have.

- Collin - 3.5 I get really annoyed at his woeful distribution when he has the opportunity to release the ball quickly. Bola, time and time again made himself available to receive but Collin couldn't spot an opportunity to relieve the pressure. His general positioning as a keeper is still questionable. Never takes the responsibility to shout instructions when the central defenders needed helping
- Clackstone 2.5 Fell far short of what was expected. Out jumped for their first. Nolan should have taken him off a half time. What was worrying, is that Bola was taken off when ALL the problems were down Clackstone's sideBooked at 59min2
- Hewitt 5 Concentration still wanders at times.
- Hollis 6 MoTM Easy choice today. Not brilliant but did OK
- Bola 5 Not at his best but shouldn't have been subbed. Substituted for
- Thompson 5 Better 2nd half when moved into the centre. Despite his work rate, still cannot influence the game through creative passing
- Grant 4 Went missing for long periods today
- Milsom 4 Way below par for his recent performances. There was a real collective failure to compete for the second ball
- Yeates 4 Shallow compared to Mcanuff's performance for Stevenage...Why couldn't we get McAnuff last summer?Substituted fo
- Ameobi 4 denied by good save from Day. Never got any decent service. Over hit cross from Clackstone removed his one real chance 2nd half
- Stead 4 Not a good day at the office. Inability of our midfield to construct anything cohesively didn't help. Missed a good chance in the 1st half firing wide when cutting inside.

Despite our recent form before the game, I think if I'd have been told that (at the start of the week) we would get 3/6 points from two tough away matches - I'd have been pretty happy. Table position only looks a bit disappointing cause none of the results around us went our way. However, 3 points separates us and 17th and our 5 match unbeaten run before that shouldn't be forgot.
It'll be good to see how the boys bounce back from this. We have two home games (Hartlepool & Barnet) that I think we can get maximum points from, whilst two difficult away games (Doncaster & Wycombe) that any result should be seen as a positive.
Personally, I think back to October/November where I watched some of the most negative football I've seen at Meadow Lane for a while - just happy to see some spirit from the lads, been impressed with the addition of Bola and Grant whilst Ameobi has allowed Jon Stead to focus a bit more on being a striker rather than having to run around trying to pick up the team. I know no one is being negative, just happy to let Nolan try a few things and hopefully build on towards better things next year
Good to see a new name posting, and you're right too @ELL100T. If we carry on picking up points we could make quick progress. But that's a big "if". We can already see how big the win at Orient was, defeat there and we would have been in the relegation zone right now instead of enjoying a five-point cushion.
Stevenage might be ordinary but they are fifth for a reason. They're effective and we've got to be effective too.
Well not great three points dropped. Stevenage are in fifth for a reason. We need to refocus and start the climb out of the danger zone.
Jon Stead is up for the PFA Fans' League Two Player of the Month award for February. Vote for the striker on the Sky Sports website via the following link.

Absolute Radio have a game they play across their social media, they invite people to tweet, e-mail and text in players names which has been adapted to a certain subject - for example Footballers with rude names, to which the manager could be Arsene Wa**er.
Well, I'd like to see if we can name a Notts XI purely made up of funny names (you can adapt the name to fit).
Manager:
Goalkeeper
Right back - Centre Back - Centre Back - Left Back
Winger - Centre Midfielder - Winger
Attacking Midfielder
Striker - Striker
So, c'mon lets have a bit of fun by naming a squad of Notts players who either had funny names or ones that sounded amusing.

Best doesn't always mean highest, so I think yesterday's attendance was the most encouraging for years and years. Well done to AH, KN and the players.
Can anyone think of a better one in the circumstances?

Brilliant just love that video @weymouthPIE , great support .
It makes wish I was there, I really miss the away days I went on and the togetherness felt. Brilliant video @weymouthPIE, thank you for sharing it.
Thinking back to comments I read online after the appointment of Kevin Nolan, most fans was eager to give him a fair chance. Yet I do recall reading concerns about him not having experience or being familiar with a full on relegation battle. This hasn't stopped him from turning things around highlighted by the very well written article by @Joe Jones.
I am encouraged as an exile fan currently living life out over in the United States that the club may have finally found a manager who has the ability and contacts to move the club forward. Combined with a passionate chairman who is eager to see his investment secure.
My question to you is, what would your early assessment of Kevin Nolan be?
Are you happy with his management style? I am, he seems to be a motivator and someone who gets the best out of his squad.
Do you dislike anything about his approach? I keep seeing comments about him leaving substitutes late, is this really a bad thing? I am very curious for your input.

Really simple topic, who do you thinks going to get promoted and who will be relegated? And to keep it Notts related where will Notts finish? I'm going to say 16th.
Promoted:
Doncaster - champions
Plymouth - Runners up
Portsmouth - 3rd
Play off winners: It makes me sick to say it but I can see Mansfield winning it.
Relegated: Orient and Crewe
