  1. We have to strengthen the squad in vital positions, we need people who can score the goals and avoid the goals. It's very simple; it's at the front and at the back.

A centre-back has always been my wish, but we haven't been able to find the right one as yet but I would like at least three in. We know that. It's not a surprise.

Potentially, this could mean a striker too. It seems our squad isn't quite finished being built.

Could we negotiate with Justin Hoyte, so that Mawouna Amevor could move into a more central position? Perhaps even Brian Wilson could add further strength?

A natural, sold CB would be good but I don't think we require many more signings myself.

  2. Guess these stadiums, how many can you get? Share your score below.

    I got 4/10 :(

  3. Just a quick plug for the prediction league ahead of the new season, it all kicks off in three weeks time - and that's just between tony & super_ram ;) It's always good fun, plenty of laughs and gets a fair few new members posting, so do join in. According to @notts-joe, there might even be a prize on offer this season!

If you've not played the game before, I will post six fixtures every week - two from each league in the FL, and you simply have to post your score predictions for each game. If you get the score correct you get three points; if you get the right result but not the score you get one point, and obviously if you get the result wrong you get nothing.

To make things a little bit more interesting, I'm introducing the "joker" prediction this season. Basically you have to choose one of your predictions as your joker, and if you get it right you get double points on that game :)

So keep an eye out in the week leading up to the game at Stevenage for the firsst round. Generally fixtures will be posted a couple of days before the games, and the scores and table are normally updated on either a Saturday evening or the Sunday, depending on where I've been on the Saturday

  4. On the official site Jordan Cranston has officially left the club.

Good luck for the future Jordan

  7. Good morning everyone.

It's a cool cloudy morning here. No kids to look after today so the day is ours to do what we want.

We may go for bike ride later but first I am going to try and do some computer work if I can and BT have sorted out the problems I have been experiencing with their Broadband.

Tonight we will be going to our SOBS support group, we haven't been for a while but we want to continue to go to support other people who have been bereaved by suicide, the group was a great help when our son died and we want to give something back.

On that cheerful note I will wish you a great day, please join in and tell us what you are up to today.

  11. Would Nathan Clarke make a good addition for us?

He does seem to be the type of player Ricardo Moniz has spoken about, you know 'passionate' and a 'leader on the field'. He's been mentioned a few times within our community, whilst a couple of fans have actually suggested him as a player directly to me. I am hearing Bradford City are keen on signing him, however I do believe we could attract him here provided we sold the dream to him.

    What do you think?

  12. This is an experiment that works really well on another forum I am involved with. Each day someone put in the daily thread with date etc. everyone adds to the post with a little snippet of their day. It doesn't have to be too personal or anything just a brief word about what you are planning or what you've done.

If it's going to work it needs people to contribute, at the end of each day the post needs to be locked by a mod and the next day a new daily post started. Anyone can start the daily thread.

Today I am taking my grandson to his swimming lesson, he's doing really well, he's mastered the back stroke and yesterday he was going under water for rubber rings, something which he would never do in the past.

What have you got planned or been up to, please join in.

  15. We went camping with our two eldest grandchildren and our son and daughter in law came with two youngest grand kids.

It rained all day Friday so got wet through putting up sons tent and the awning to our motorhome.

Yesterday was lovely though and we went for a bike ride, had a train ride and flew a massive kite shaped like an octopus (yes really)

Later we went fishing and eldest grandson Quinn caught a decent size bream (see pic)

Later we had a great BBQ and a few drinks after the kids had gone to bed.

Today it rained again so got wet through again taking tent and awning down, fantastic weekend though, great to get everyone together.

  16. It was my birthday last month and for a present my son bought me a camping trip plus tickets to see a Rolling Stones tribute band called Rollin Stoned.

We camped as a family and me and my son went to see the band on Saturday night, it was a double bill with a group who were called Abbey Road Experience, they were on first and did (as you can imagine Beatles songs) they weren't a look a like group but just played the music of the Beatles, we thought they were very good until the Rollin Stoned came on stage, they were magnificent, I'm a big Stones fan and I've seen the real thing 3 times and watched loads of videos and I though this tribute band had them off to a tee, every mannerism was spot on the music was damn good too. They really had all the oldies rocking in the aisles.

    A great weekend.

  17. In the summer of 2009 County were taken over on the back of huge mineral rights granted to Swiss Commodity Holdings by the North Korean Government; rights to mine everything from gold to uranium; Sven Goran Eriksson attended at the signing ceremony in Pyongyang in June 2009; SCH were added to the Club's badge and Eriksson took over as director of football with dreams of the Premiership. It became known as "the Project" and for a few short months it made news around the World before collapsing into a pit of fraud and recrimination.

But just how close did David Beckham come to joining  County; why did Sol Campbell leave and what exactly happened at the Football League compliance meetings?

  20. Mick Jagger was 72 yesterday. Considering how he allegedly abused his body with drugs and drink during the Stones hey day, he doesn't look bad for his age, still rocking today and pulling in the crowds.
