  1. I have decided to return to my finding daft videos in a daily thread.

The aim is to either shock (in a nice not gory!) way or make people laugh.

Now my humour has been mocked previously on my video finds! so be warned!

Todays video was an easy one.

Feel free to comment on the above or add to the list on a daily new thread.

  2. From to day onwards I have decides to quit NCM all together, I will be making this site my home for discussing Notts. I am not the most prolific poster but I like what P.o.N represents and I can see myself posting far more. Unlike some defectors, I am prepared to settle and not lie.

This seems a good community and I look forward in taking part more.

PS. I have been a fan for 17 years, I am also a ST holder and sit in the Pavis.

  3. Something strange happened on opening day at Doncaster, 2 bizarre goals....

late in the game Donny had Nathan Cameron injured, with Bury putting the ball out so the Doncaster player could receive treatment... following the stoppage and in trying to return the ball to the Bury keeper, Harry Forrester lobbed the keeper and the referee awarded the goal.... after trying to get the goal ruled out.... Paul Dickov (him who is usually the villain) apparently instructed his side not to oppose Bury and to allow them to walk in an equalizer...

So Paul Dickov has been rightly praised and lauded for his sporting behaviour....for once!

  4. Oxford are one of the favourites for promotion. They have assembled a strong squad. They are unbeaten this season. They drew at home to Crawley, won 4-0 at Brentford and dug out a 2-2 draw at Luton.

Oxford have a few danger men. Hylton, Roofe, Hoban and Sercombe. I doubt we'll keep a clean sheet. I actually think our style is better away from home. I think this has all the makings of a cracker.

1-1 is my prediction. Spencer rescuing a point for us.

  5. I have just watched the 4 minute highlights on the Scunthorpe site, I am impressed with the display put on by Notts.

The defending is another thing, schoolboy standard! The midfield completely disconnected from defending and both of Scunthorpes goals seemed to be a frenzy of very bad timed challenges. In fact the majority of the highlights us!

Their first goal, is a bit of a mistake from Roy but there was no defending at all

The second goal we allowed them so much time on the ball. One pass through our defence and one of their players gets in, one on one with Roy but instead of shooting, he passes to another player who tucks it a way.

I hope they take it more seriously in the league.

Is the defence bad or is it just a lack of wanting to get the ball?

  6. hi all, been really slack lately (Pie In Shanghai) so thanks to all for filling these great threads in.  SPin a bonus on relegation, at least we've a raft of new teams to play this game with...

Anyway - Oggsfud invokes memories of = Milk Cup (love, oxo!), Dean Saunders, Ray Houghton and John Aldridge.  Game wise, the only game I recall is the last game of 93/94, following the exploits of Dyjkstra,  we needed to hope Derby lost their last game and we needed a win at the already relegated side based at the Manor ground by 7 goals.  Needless to say, I think we lost....

So thin on the ground for players - my sole effort tonight is Nigel Jemson.  Wiki tells me 14 games 1 goal for us after a £300k ish transfer, and then after a free to Oxford, he had a record of 27in68...

  7. Who is your favourite signing of this season so far and why?

Aborah, he looks sheer class from the highlights I have seen. It seems we have quite a few who could be marketable players, so if we do wisely we could make some extra from them in the future. He is the type of player Jimmy would have liked to have had under his reign I am sure.

  8. Not many good moments here, the better team does look to have won.

  9. A real rainy, dreary morning here. There was a lovely red sky last night but it didn't herald good weather. (See pics)a69f66946afd5eb197e5035ed39eaf5f.jpg

  10. The first fixture most Pies fans would have been scanning the fixtures for when they were published. The same goes for Mansfield fans I expect. Notts County away is their biggest game of the season, it's the one they would love to win most, a win in our backyard.

Even though it's a Friday night, it's possible the attendance could break 10K. Mansfield will bring 3K or more and with the bright start by the Pies, the home crowd will be well up on last season.

Mansfield recruited well in the off season, they have put together a decent squad. They will be disappointed with their 1-1 draw at home to Carlise. That's a side they should be beating. They were beaten 4-1 away to Sheff. Wed. in the LC last night. They can few complaints, Wednesday were by far the better side and it wasn't their strongest side.

Local derbies take on a life of their own. Form goes out the window. It will be a big test for our foreign contingent. They will know what L2 football is all about after this one!

I'm going for 3-1 to Notts. Spencer, Stead and Noble. I think our pace and power will be too much for them. I expect them to try and bully us but we will be well able for it.

  11. Do you watch any other teams aside from Notts or your respective club? If so, why?

I have been to see Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs, Watford, Kettering, Notts, Port Vale, Middlesborough and Millwall. I tend to get invited to games by friends, in fact I plan to attend your game against Mansfield.

  12. Anyone got a spare space in the car tomorrow night I'd give you petrol money

    Live in chilwell

  13. Now i'm back from the hols I thought it was about time we got this part of the forum moving so...

It's an interesting one for me because it's a place I've always wanted to visit and always watched their political situation with interest. (hands up those who have at some point had a Che t-shirt or poster!!!)

  15. I'm going up to Nottingham tomorrow and wont get home till late on Saturday night, so I probably wont post the scores till Sunday this week.

    Saturday's Fixtures:

Derby County v Charlton Athletic (sorry @super_ram but I am going to this!)

    Ipswich Town v Sheffield Wednesday

    Millwall v Coventry City

    Sheffield United v Chesterfield

    Plymouth Argyle v Portsmouth

    Yeovil Town v Bristol Rovers

  16. I, as many of the other 7K Notts fans in attendance last night, have woken up today with a very sour taste in my mouth. The same sour taste as if you were to consume a HUGE packet of Haribo Tangfastics as you cried yourself to sleep and leave yourself asking.. "Is this real?"

Yes we played bloody woefully.. For a game as important as this, not only it being our first home game where we get to put our stamp on the home form in this league but a chance at early bragging rights.

This was a derby that only one team turned up for and FULL credit to Mansfield because they gave one hell of a performance both on and off the pitch, it was an absolute incredible performance from the 'yellows' that saw them boss every aspect of the game in all areas.

But that sour taste is accompanied by optimism... As I was purchasing my home shirt in the club shop at the end of the game i said to myself "I am willing to disregard what I witnessed tonight and put it down to lack of fight and determination for the occasion from the players and nothing more. I will carry on my belief through what I witnessed in pre-season, coupled with what I saw at Stevenage and what I read about the Huddersfield game and give the players time".
I know this is going to be nothing short of an impressive season for Notts.. one i am very glad to be a part of. With Oxford Tuesday night and Accrington on Saturday, the players will soon get a feel for the physical and demanding pace of this league and soon find their comfort zone and be racking up the points...
    COYP!!!!

  17. So here we are on a beautiful morning in a field in our camper van at Flamborough.

Yesterday our gas ran out, no problem thinks I its just a case of swapping to the small spare one we keep for such an occasion and then get another. Everything fine until the early hours when a clicking noise woke us and disaster the emergency gas had also ran out, the clicking was the gas fridge trying to ignite.

Since this site hasn't got electricity this means that we have no morning cuppa, no hot water to wash etc., a trip to Bridlington I think this morning to get the gas replenished.

    Have a good day each.

  18. Heard on radio Nottingham this morning that Colin Slater has had one of the trams named after him.

What a great idea and a lovely tribute to Colin who has been commentating on Notts for 47 years. A can't actually remember Notts County without Colin and I am REALLY old.
