he sounds very smart and i like the way he provides detailed replies. just hope he gets the support he requires and that we further improve on the youth setup because the amount of coaches we lost under the previous regime was a joke.

So now out game aginst Colchester is not on a Staurday afternoon due to EFL/FA incompetence, and through no fault of Notts.

Here's an idea.

Any fixture moved from a Saturday afteroon for any reason except the weather should be rearranged with FREE entry to everyone and season ticket holders get part of their money back.

From BBC Sport:

A proposal to scrap 45-minute halves is to be looked at by football's lawmakers to deter time-wasting.

Instead, there could be two periods of 30 minutes with the clock stopped whenever the ball goes out of play.

Lawmaking body the International Football Association Board (Ifab) says matches only see about 60 minutes of "effective playing time" out of 90.

The idea is one of several put forward in a new strategy document designed to address football's "negativities".

Another proposal would see players not being allowed to follow up and score if a penalty is saved - if the spot-kick "is not successful", play would stop and a goal-kick awarded.

Other ideas include a stadium clock linked to a referee's watch and a new rule allowing players to effectively pass to themselves or dribble the ball when taking a free-kick.

Any thoughts on these proposals?

It's getting silly now, we need to move on like we did with Jorge Grant despite there still being chance he may return on loan. We need to be looking into all areas of the squad, so that the depth and cover is there.

What do you folks think?

So Kevin Nolan turns 35 today. Happy birthday King Kev, hope you enjoyed your Benidorm shindig!

To pay homage to the man himself, the Premier League has published a compilation of his finest goals. And there are some crackers in there!

Here it is - enjoy the tekkers!

The current situation that Notts are in is very promising. The players that we have signed so far look to be good from others people's opinions. We have a top class owner that has given the manager confidence leading onto the players. We will be able to attract the higher quality players as we are one of the biggest sides in the league. We are looking good so far and the majority of Notts fans are full of optimism for the upcoming season. We could be in for a good season. COYP

Thanks to those who took part in an earlier version of some university research I am involved in that is looking at how we conduct our everyday relationships through smartphones, computers, tablets and other electronic devices. I have now moved on to a second phase of questions and I hope you can spare a few minutes to share your important views.

Thanks in advance.

Left Wigan by mutual consent, as he wants to back to Nottinghamshire. Is this the type of centre half we're after. 32 year old and plenty of experience

Alan and Kev take note

I'd love to see us recruit a young striker who has a bit of pace about them, however technically these asset must be there in terms of natural skill/finishing but I feel these are the key factors that would allow us to find our own natural goalscorer without being forced to spend money on a transfer fee.

Does anyone else feel Jon Stead and Shola Ameobi has a lot more to offer us in terms of player development and passing on their experience/knowledge to an upcoming player?

So the EFL fixtures for 2017-18 have been released, and Notts have a pretty darn difficult start.

Coventry away, followed by Chesterfield at home (and between them an EFL Cup trip to Scunthorpe).

What do you think of the Notts fixtures then? Worried about the tricky start or reckon it might be better as it will cut out complacency?

And what fixtures are you looking forward to the most?

Let PON know!

So the first game of the first cup competition of the season (Carabao [League] Cup) has been sorted for Notts County.

Scunthorpe United away (again?), game to take place on Tuesday 8 August at Glanford Park, 7:45pm kickoff.

Ticket prices are £12 for adults, £8 for over-65s and under-21s, and £2 for under-18s, and will go on sale in the coming weeks - the club will reveal more in due course.

Got to be honest, as fixtures go, Scunny away is hardly the ideal tie, but at least it's not too far... plus the prices seem fairly reasonable and the tie is certainly winnable.

Anybody making plans to head up to sunny Scunny for the tie? Let PON know.

How do you feel about Shola Ameobi extending his stay at Meadow Lane?

I'm personally pleased to see him sign up to the 2017-18 season, as I didn't think we would get both him and Jon Stead. I think the core of the squad now has shape and I do believe that other players will want to play in this 'feel good' Notts squad. I hope its the start of the additional quality we need.

No complaints from me.

With the amazing turnaround in fortune for Notts, after the takeover by Alan Hardy and appointment of Kevin Nolan, there came a sudden feeling of optimism returning to Meadow Lane. There's still a lot of business to be done, with the transfer window remaining open until the end of August, and players still have to report back for pre season training but how do you feel things are progressing. What are your expectations for next season? Close season can be almost as much of a roller coaster ride as the season proper as fans hopes of signings materialise or fail. Then there are the pre season friendlies which strengthen or diminish hopes. At the moment ,with more signings expected ,I'll just say I 'm hoping for a serious promotion push by both of my sides. How often and by how much will my/your expectations change come the beginning of August?

With the League Two season over (aside from the playoff final), it's all about planning for the upcoming campaign and, as standard, player recruitment is part of that.

With clubs all across the leagues deciding on which players to retain and which to release, plus those who opt to leave despite having been offered fresh terms, it's important to keep tabs on players who can be snapped up by Notts and get some discussions going (and we can even play our part by letting Alan Hardy know about them - chances are they'll have it covered, but you never know).

The Beeb has a pretty comprehensive page which provides day-to-day news on player situations across the leagues - if everyone on here keeps tabs on the players, gets discussions going and potentially makes enough noise, it can only be a good thing.

I hope Kevin Nolan & Alan Hardy are watching for possible targets. Chile's no 7 looks ok.

So we're now in the middle of June. Virtually every conventional football avenue (Premier League + EFL, playoffs, cup finals, European finals, England games) has now been exhausted, and it's still several weeks even before the pre-season friendlies commence...

How are you planning to keep busy for the next few weeks? Will you be tuning into the Confederations Cup / Under-21s / Women's European Championship? Or will you be doing non-football-related stuff in the meantime?

Let PON know.

According to the OS Jon Stead has committed his future to Notts. They don't say how much of it though. I'm glad about this as he's an important figure at the club. And 28 goals in two seasons is very steady.

So it looks like he's given up his American dream and opted to make Notts County great again...

I could sit for hours listening to my grandfather re-tell stories of watching Don Masson, it might sound draft but the way he was spoken of always reminded me of 'Roy of the Rovers'.

A man that lit up a ground with singing and amazed fans with his ability on the ball.

Share your tales and memories of the Notts legend Don Masson...

The list of released and retained players at EFL clubs has been published following the conclusion of the 2016/17 season.

Players detailed on the released list can still re-sign or may have now re-signed for their respective clubs ahead of the new season, and so their inclusion does not necessarily mean the player will be leaving the club.

The information was correct as of 20th May 2017.

over the past couple of days i have put capital fm on and it got me thinking, what are other pon members listening to either music or radio wise?

Okay, so I was thinking after reading the review myself and @Joe Jones did of the Mitre Delta (which is set to be the official match ball for the EFL this upcoming season) about football's I've owned or like the design of.

I'm curious to see what members of #PON have to say.

There's been some great designs and the technology that goes into making football's is advancing all the time. I mean, they're actually safer to head and cause less damage. Whilst I also think of revolting it would be to kick around a pugs bladder or anything animal related as they once used to made from. They don't pop easily these days too! Hey Super Ram! ;)

Here's mine...

I'm a sucker for the Champions League ball, over the years they've had some very nice designs - many are similar but each one generally looks superb.

Champions,P20League,P20betting,P20tips.j

The golden Premier League ball is another I really like.

There was another used during a World Cup that was nice, I forget which one it was mind.
