  1. This is a great business idea for the guys who created it. It was truly loved when it was on TV and was a brill experience. Richard O'Brien made the show admittedly, but the fun of being actually involved is a great idea. I for one would love to go and be there shouting "grab the bloody crystal time is running out!"

The Crystal Maze. One of the all time fun tv programmes!

  2. Just curious how many multi lingual pies we have in our community.

I assume @DangerousSausage can speak German. I can speak a little French thanks to our many trips to that country.

Anyone else admit to knowing another language?

  3. Hi folks and welcome to the seventh episode of Pride of Nottingham’s PONcast, Notts County's number one podcast.

In today’s instalment we begin by discussing the speculation surrounding a potential return to Meadow Lane for Ben Davies and the rumoured signing of Dutch winger Julian Jenner. The PONcast then moves onto the provocative tweet sent by chief scout Guy Branston where he claims that new signing Rhys Sharpe is better than current players Blair Adams and Jordan Cranston.

We also touch on the latest behind-the-scenes developments at Notts, the Football League campaign to attract overseas fans to show support for their clubs, and a bespoke message for the Italian Magpies.

The episode then ends with an exclusive interview with Kevin Grealish, father of prodigious Notts loanee Jack Grealish, as he gives us his thoughts on the season just gone and his hopes for the Magpies next season.

Remember you can subscribe to our PONcast.

You can do so by using Itunes for IOS devices, downloading any of the main podcast apps from the google play store or even listen to show using the TuneIn Radio app.

  4. How many do you think we have sold to date and how many do you think we will have at the start of the season?

I expect it to be around 2,000 myself and I do not see it raising much higher.

  5. Let's have a punt on what colour it will be, @erindoors will have already had this sorted - as she once mentioned either on our FB page or within our community.

But I would like to see what folks here think.

What colour would you prefer and what colour do you think it will be?

I wouldn't mind a light blue or navy shirt for the away colours this upcoming season, we have had a rainbow of shirts in recent years and I actually liked them all. The pink one was a nice way to salute our Italian friends.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised to see it's return either.

    What about you?

  6. I bet @Dan is excited about the way in which the Staggs are building for the upcoming season, it seems they have a good approach to the type of players it takes to put a disappointing season behind themselves but also to bid for a brighter 2015/16 season campaign.

Would anyone here have liked to see Craig Westcarr return back to Notts? Thoughts on Mansfield?

    Discuss folks.

  7. Do you think Pilks will be relied upon as our No.2 Keeper this upcoming season? Do you think he could still cut it within League Two? Would you like to see the club sign an young upcoming keeper or a steady reliable backup?

Let's discuss this and see your thoughts on PON to these questions.

  8. England v Belarus U21 at Barnsley

The lads played some good stuff at times, but ultimately struggled to break down their opponents blanket defence.

MOM Alex Pritchard Spurs, last season on loan at Brentford. Move over Andros Townshend, Ryan Mason & the like, this guy is better than you both combined, he's gonna be huge!!!

  9. Cokayne Looking To Drive New Business Through The Doors

Official Club video here, interesting to see Richard speak about getting investment in. It is the way forward and I do think the club have someone able to continue where Damian Irvine left off.

Have a watch folks, discuss below.

  10. So, contrary to the information put out by the club, Gary Jones has not yet been offered a contract by the club.

A bit shoddy of the club IMO, to keep these guys hanging on and not getting in touch. Gary Jones was a professional throughout, and I would say that without him last season we could very well have finished last. Not a way to repay his efforts.

    Plus, it's deceiving fans as-well.

  11. What are your thoughts on the possibility of Patrick Vieira taking over at the Toon?

    Let PoN know!

  12. Went to this a few days ago expecing to see a whole lot on Notts. We didn't really get a mention!

Nothing about us being the first League club in the World etc...

Only one cabinet piece and that was a funeral card that fans could buy outside the ground in the early 1900's commerating the loss of the great Notts County after a bad run of defeats.

To find anything you had to type into their interactive screen and search Notts!

  13. It's only two weeks to wait now until the fixtures are released.

Who would you like to see us play on the key dates?

I personally would like a home tie to kick us off and a home tie to finish the season if we can't have both those options then my preference would be a home tie the last day of the season when hopefully the players can parade round the ground as Champions.

I'd also like Mansfield at home on Boxing Day or New Years Day, that would ensure a bumper crowd as long as the weather doesn't postpone the match.

    What about you?

  14. How do you feel the squads taking shape? Where do we need to focus now and who ideally could fill the roles required?

It seems each season we are one of the slowest to build, we need to address this in my opinion because the movement is what encourages supporters and the better quality out there is always likely to move faster. I think we are still seeking signings to convince fans we will gain promotion next year and these are the positions I want filling the most.

    Goalkeeper

    Centre Back

    Right Back

    Centre Midfield

    Striker

Ben Davies could fill the CM role, he would offer cover too. Right Back, hopefully some someone between 22-27 with a bit of pace behind them. The keeper ideally not young but reliable at this level. I read somewhere Kristen Pearce us available as a free signing. He might do well with regular game time and less selfish partners a round him.

Striker upcoming would be nice, pacey and skilful. What are your thoughts?

  15. Despite assurances there would be no job losses when the takeover by an American company was announced, Boots have announced that 400 jobs are under threat and consultation is taking place. My sympathies to anyone on here who is employed by Boots, having been made redundant 3 times during my working life I don't envy you the next few months of uncertainty.

  16. Please give @Binghampiess a warm PoN welcome. Good to have you join us. I hope you enjoy your time with us.

  17. Don't you just love summer time? yesterday we had a great walk down the canal and a pint in the pub garden overlooking the canal.

Today the family came round and we had a Sunday roast cooked outside on our Cobb, roast beef and all the trimmings, the kids are staying with us tonight so they went to bed around 7 ish while the grown ups chilled out playing board games (Rummikubs, anyone else play it?), family time is great especially in Summer.

What's everyone else been up to?

  18. @GrannyPie and myself sat down together  earlier tonight and had a real good look at  @Blathers67's 'Magpies musical melancholy' blog. There are 50 song titles hidden and guess what ? We've found 54 ! I think we'd better go and check again.

  19. How many have you attended? Where and who?

I have been 13 England games, all at the old Wembley. We won 10, draw 2 and lost 1. Three games included World Cup winners. I have also been to a handful of USA games, scattered all over America and South America.

Most of which have been friendlies.

  20. I watched Canada vs China live last night. I was never a fan of 4G pitches and last night is the reason why. Canada play the ball around at pace and it opens up packed defences. It's very difficult to do that on 4G. What we got was a slow paced game.

Maybe the quality will improve as the teams get used to the pitches. It needs to as there is a huge audience watching the tournament, it's a massive opportunity to promote the women's game. Grass is miles better than 4G. I can't help thinking this would be an outstanding tournament if it were on grass. There's no need for 4G in Summer in Canada.

  21. It's been fabulous weather the last couple of days, I've even got my shorts out of the wardrobe and put them on!

Last night me and Mrs H were thinking of popping down to the pub and treating ourselves to a couple of steaks but we decided to do our own so got a couple of rib eye steaks and popped them on the BBQ, they were gorgeous.

How's the weather been where you are? How have you been enjoying it?

Just to make you drool here's a couple of pics of our BBQ meal.

  22. I use Firefox, both on my desktop and laptop. Its also my preferred mobile browser. Safest and fastest out there in my opinion too.

    What do you use?

  23. I visit the mobile site but I also use the powerful app 'Tapatalk', it allows you to view our forum much quicker and easier. It puts important features in your finger tips and you can even receive notifications (these can be turned off). I highly recommend it and I hope more will give it a try.
