Should Notts try to sign Craig Mackail-Smith permanently?

I think this needs to be a target in the summer, despite his age he's a very robust player that gives everything. I would be tempted to offer Kristian Dennis in exchange or sell him to purchase Craig Mackail-Smith permanently.

No, I would find a way to make use of Kristen Dennis when his loan deal expires.

I would be annoyed because he's a good player and he would do much better within a hard working squad, if the chances get created and the players work better with him - he'll score. He's done without much chance and I can't help but feel this is another Jonathan Forte situation. If Notts are to become a good side, we will need to learn how to make assets like Dennis work well.

He's a good player, he's a goalscorer.

Get pace onto the wings, players with a delivery and just build stronger. I feel the cores very good and the reinforcements should be minor, it would be more offloading in the summer for me.

i would love notts to sign cms, hes the type of player who works well with others and has established a partnership quite well. he would be a good signing even if he was not out of contract, wycombe might accept lower due to his wages and wanting to spend it better for them.

I think he would be a good signing, we need to see more of yesterday in every game.

At the minute he looks like a great signing who gives so much to the team. He's getting on a bit but might be worth considering for a year.

The idea of swapping CMS for Dennis again makes me cry. Mackail-Smith's performance just highlight how little Dennis contributed to our play. Dennis is bone idle, doesn't want to play for us and should be shipped out ASAP.

Dennis was ok but i think M S is better for us at the minute.

I would welcome him as a permanent signing, with regards to Dennis it's Ardley's call but it wouldn't surprise me if he's still in the clubs plans. It might be more about fitness.

First logical move in the next transfer window, add more pace into the team but actually have talent backing it up.

He has been a great signing for us, like the others but unfortunetly we are likely to lose some of the players that helped us in this situation.

Without doubt, he is out of contact in The summer. Comparing him to Dennis is ridiculous (I have nothing against Dennis) CMS is a far better player.

No messing about, just sign him up if the chance comes up.

Great player!

Great player!

Notts have a habit of messing up though.

We all saw what happened when he didn't start and the only difference was when he did come on as a sub, it changed the game but it was too late. Sign him up!

My thoughts too. I totally agree.

I would like to see what Craig Mackail-Smith could do with a player like Kritsian Dennis.

Dennis isn't a lazy or bad player, that's just the easiest things some fans can sprout when they're annoyed with the situation that the club finds themselves in. He's scored goals with limited game time, he's not been fully match fit and he's finding form at Grimsby. Mackail-Smith and Jon Stead couldn't score against Newport, they had better service and made a large difference.

It's all about how the players work for each other.

I think with Stead becoming quite close to retirement it would make sense to give Dennis more time to adjust to his move here. Find a way to get the best out of him, put the ball in the areas where he's most deadly.

Someone other than Jon Stead needs to pair with Craig Mackail-Smith, if Stead is tired and he looks it. Nobody else works that well with him. Kane Hemmings although works hard is in a world of his own.

Notts needs someone who can thrive of those third and second balls.

At the moment the team needs to work with the current best players.

I might be wrong but I can't see him signing permanently unless the takeover happens.

The league status will also have some barring on matters but otherwise, yes I would sign him.

I think someone younger would be better, unless Jon Stead retires at the end of this season.

Younger legs are needed.

Yes, a younger fast striker would be needed to support them though. Kane Hemmings and Kristian Dennis hasn't worked as we thought, it could be different next season but we need some more pace up top.
