Jim O'Brien to re-sign?

It sounds like Jim O'Brien has a lot of respect for Neal Ardley, you could also assume he feels a new manager could be appointed as The Post speculated that he wanted to be reassured of Ardleys future first.

I feel both should remain, I would hope O'Brien re-signs because he's good enough.

Let's get the JOB done. 😉

Tough one to call regarding Ardley as although he was dealt a bad hand, he was unable to inspire the side enough to get us out of the situation, even though we had a lot of games left to play.

I'm not too fussed if he stays or goes and the same goes for O'Brien. Let's see what the alleged new owners want.

Got to say I like JOB here comes the but , sign if he is going to but it’s for Notts County not NA if he is going to still be here , it’s the club you and any other player would play for not any given manager , so if that decision is to be made down the line commit to the CLUB , sign for the CLUB

i want neal ardley to stay on, switching and changing managers is never good.

i think he will have gotten to see what needs improving, which players can help and what is needed to improve. i would hope jim o brien signs, hes a good experienced midfielder and we need that. his fight and determination could help a lot.

I would take Jim back in a heartbeat. It seems as though we can't do anything until this takeover happens though. Imagine if they were to pull out. How much of a mess would that leave us in?

I would hope he comes back, I'd have him over Michael Doyle any day of the week.

Sign him up, he has the experience and ability to allow someone like Tom Crawford or Will Patching to do the dirty work.

I would welcome him back too, I think he was the best player in midfield and he's more creative than some give him credit for.

If he resigns it’s cause Ardley will stay that can’t happen cause Ardley needs to use youth players sometimes he’s not prepared to do so O’Brien saying that isn’t fair and it binds Notts In to a corner in terms of needing experience and youth.

Jimbo would be an asset next season. And he clearly rates Neal Ardley and his work behind the scenes, which is a good sign.

Yes and no. Remember it's his job, and a professional footballer past 30 needs to be playing. If NA stays, Jim knows he's rated and that he will play. If he goes and we're managerless, suddenly he doesn't know who the manager will be or whether he'll want him. And at his age, one wrong move and his career cold be over.

Neal Ardley would offer Jim O'Brien stability, in his playing career at this stage that would be natural. I would welcome O'Brien back because he's the type of player this club would miss and exactly the type that would be taken for granted.

He's a good player, a leader and Ardley will know that.

I would take him but I don't feel he's as important as some think. Likewise with Michael Doyle, I think it would be in the clubs interest to focus on younger players, accompanied with players in their 25's.

Rather than their late 30's.

I cant imagine  he'd leave n thn come bk.

The takeover collapsing isn't worth thinking about, but if Hardy can borrow the money from his mates than it could only get more serious.

I would have Jim O'Brien back too, he played with his heart on his sleeve. I liked that about him!

Get him back, all this talk of a fresh start is nonsense we need players like O'Brien that can connect to the club.

If the wages was fair, I would welcome him back.

It just depends on that because if he wants more than what is reasonable, I look to recruit someone younger in.

I think most common sense fans see the benefits that Jim O'Brien brings, losing out on him wouldn't be bad but he could do a lot of good here.

He does have his benefits but getting him back isn't going to be as easy.

As an exile I can only go off what I have read or seen in highlights, I accept to admit he’s impressed me and I do wished a contract had of been offered. However, if he doesn’t extend his stay, I don’t think anyone should lose any sleep.

With all due respect, he could be replaced if handled correctly.
