Notts sign Regan Booty and Wes Thomas

Featured Replies

Booty is a gem of a name for headline writers (see elsewhere on this site)! He's young and can develop further, which is good, and has also played in wide positions. Sounds alright so far. He was on loan at Aldershot last season, who didn't offer him a contract, and has been on trial at Bradford and Halifax too, who also didn't want him. I've also read a couple of posts from Aldershot fans who were far from complimentary about him. However, you've got to remember that it was his first season in senior football in a team that got relegated - perhaps there's more to come from him. Good luck to him certainly!

I'm a bit surprised to be honest as we've already got a choice between Doyle, O'Brien, Rose, Enzio, Dunn, Osborne, Crawford, Kellett and Patching in midfield. If Booty is planned for central midfield, it looks as though the last three of those are on their way out.

Welcome too to Wes Thomas. He's never been prolific but he has hit double figures in the last two seasons, both of which were in higher leagues than this one. He should be one who'll chip in with his share. To be honest I think our problem is not so much the lack of goals from strikers, but from the rest of the team. This hints at something a bit deeper than just the lack of a free-scoring striker.

Neal Bishop scores with Booty..

Same we don't have Bishop anymore ????Β

I am hoping now that Wes Thomas has opened his account that he might show a bit more confidence on goal.

He and Regan Booty look like very strong additions to this Notts squad.

I think Wes Thomas will be a different player now that he's found the net, for those fans complaining he couldn't hit a barn door on social media. Why do you think he plays at the 3rd to 4th tier usually?

Booty appears to be a quality signing in terms of what creativity he brings to the squad, he's already made such a big impact but he needs to push on from this. Working hard will be an overall view of what standard he brings.

I feel we have missed a player of his silk for many a year.

Both have been excellent since arriving, yes Wes Thomas seemed to have left his shooting boots at Grimsby but he has always worked hard to create chances. Most are critical of him because they feel he's lost the club points but I say that's poor defending at times that we have seen.

Regan Booty looks a classy young player.

Regan Booty is very good, he needs to be starting every game IMO.

I think Wes Thomas is a typical lower league striker, he misses some sitters but when he does score they're good. I am happy with both of these signings as they're much better than I had expected.
