  1. Good morning, it’s a horrible rainy start here, we’ll have a soggy flannel of a cat to dry when she comes in from her nighttime forage. We’ll have to grab her before she jumps on the settee with muddy paws.

Not much happening here today, I was elated that I managed to fix the broken tap in the camper van yesterday so that’s another job ticked off, I’m getting good at this DIY malarkey I fixed the washer the other day now the tap I’m on a roll.

Have a great day everyone stay dry if you can.

  2. So this afternoon/evening I tuned in to watch Halifax vs Chesterfield on BT Sport since Notts didn't have a game.

Halifax were winless in 8, Chesterfield winless in 12 before the game.

The first half was about as tasteless as shower water and it was a dreadful contest. Not one to please the taste buds.

In the second half, a rather amusing moment happened when a Halifax player put a Chesterfield player in a headlock near the corner flag and the referee gave a free kick to Halifax. Also Spireites should have had a penalty when Tom Denton (the human equivalent to the Shanghai Tower) was basically having his shirt ripped off in the box, only for the referee to look about as interested as a cupboard door.

Chesterfield didn't look like they were winless in 12 though. They were decent second half but Halifax gave them a sucker punch when Matt Kosylo gave the bankers the lead in the 69th minute. He rounded Hull loanee keeper Callum Burton and slotted it calmly into the unguarded Spireites net.

Zavon Hines played well for Chesterfield and he flicked the ball on for Jerome Binnom-Williams to cross in to the 6'7 fridge freezer Tom Denton to head home.

Halifax hit the bar in added time and the game finished 1-1. Chesterfield probably should have won the game.

All I ask is for, is for Notts to never go to this level

      Marvellous awareness!

Meadow Lane used to get very cold just watching a game, so it will be a test to camp out along the pitch and to be without all the technology that exists today. Well done to all involved.

It's horrible and any sort of awareness should be praised.

This is a good bit of community togetherness in my opinion, well done to all who took part.

      Does Forest do anything similar?

Not many clubs seem to be so involved and I think @NottsCountyFITC is one of the best across the professional leagues. Good awareness.

  4. So this weekend coming is the international weekend.

Are  you looking forward to the England or any game in particular.?

  5. So this weeks caption this was taken by @Chris at the Crawley game last week. 6. Ok here's a question but please be honest in your answers, I won't judge I'm just curious.

Do you bother with recycling? Do you make sure that cardboard, glass etc., gets put in the right bin or do you just dump it in the nearest bin.

I noticed on a recent camping trip that the owners of the campsite had carefully labelled bins with what should be put in each one, a bin for glass, a bin for paper and cardboard and a bin for general waste etc. Sadly lots of people took no notice whatsoever and put everything in one bin.

Is recycling important to you or do you think its a waste of time?

  7. Good morning PoN, it’s a cloudy start and rain is forecast, I hope it doesn’t start too soon as I’m doing a Park Run this morning with my son and grandson, it’ll be interesting how many turn up as the weather starts to turn, there are usually around 400, know many are fair weather runners I wonder?

Later i’ll be relaxing and recovering from the run, that normally takes me until lunchtime this afternoon I’m not sure what Mrs Big Tone has got planned but if nothing is happening I might get in the van and have a look at the hot water tap which broke while we were away.

Tea tonight is a nice juicy sirloin steak with a few oven chips, salad and mushrooms. Lovely.

Please come and tell us how your day is unfolding and don’t forget anyone can start the Daily Chat Thread but you’ll have to be early to beat me. 😀

*Note to mods please don’t unfeature this thread, i’ll unfeature it tomorrow when the new one is up.

Never less  to say it went down nice ...

Has anyone else heard or tasted it at all guys and girls.?

  9. So it’s caption time guys the pic was taken by @Chris at the first win of the season. I’ll reveal the winner on Saturday after the Notts match. Good luck everyone and happy captioning. 41A8959D-735F-4585-9D0C-AD8956E5FC8B.jpeg

  10. Good morning it’s a cloudy windy start to the day, rain is forecast later so we picked the right time to come back from our camping trip.

We’ve got shopping to do this morning so we’ll be popping along to Lidl shortly, this afternoon the central heating man is coming to service our boiler, yesterday the burglar alarm man came that cost over £100, I seem to be forking money out right left and centre at the minute.

Our washer is on the blink, we think a wire from Mrs. Big Tones bra has got caught between the drum and the casing, so unless I can get it out that’ll be another expense for a man to come. Whilst camping with friends we were discussing Motorhome tyres, apparently they should be changed at least every ten years irrespective of the amount of tread, I reckon ours are around 10 years old so that’ll be more expense, at this rate I’ll have to come out of retirement and get a job!

So, what’s on your mind today? Let us know your grumbles, and/or what you are up to.

  11. So at this point normally I would say who’s going to the match this weekend but there’s no match so what will you be doing.?

  12. Should the club hand Jamie Turley a longer contract?

    17 members have voted

    1. 1. Do you feel Notts should give Jamie Turley a longer deal at the club?

      • Give him a two-year-deal, he's been a brilliant signing
        6
      • Yes, I would give him additional year
        8
      • I would wait to see how he does up to Christmas
        3
      • No, I think there's better defenders out there
        0

I might be mistaken but I believe Jamie Turley was only a short term signing arriving at the club until January, if this is the case and I am not wrong. I wonder what fans on PON would do over his future.

As a footballer it's important to allow players to settle.

He seems to have made a difference at the back and provided the club can afford to keep him, I think it only makes sense to give him a two-year-deal. Allow it to give confidence to the squad and take the pressure off him about the unknown circumstances over his future.

  13. Good morning PoN, it’s a cloudy start here and to be honest it looks ominously like rain.

Today is the last day of our camping trip with friends so we will be heading home after a great few days of good company and sunshine.

This afternoon we have a man coming to look at our burglar alarm it’s on the blink at the moment, apart from that it will be a case of unpacking the van and draining all the water system as we won’t be using it again probably until the new year.

Have a fabulous day whatever you are doing.

  15. This came up as a Facebook memory, one of Grandson George’s first matches:

    ————————

Conversation with George at the match.

George: Grandad, where is the referee?

Me (pointing): It's that man over there with black shorts, grey shirt and a white stick.

After a pause, me: Can you see him?

George: I can see a man with black shorts and a grey shirt but I can't see his white stick. (Laughter all round)

Me: He hasn't really got a white stick.

George: Well why did you say he had then, silly.

Sorry but this is embarrassing that we lost to a team that seem to have taken it more seriously and the club want people to buy into this shambles? I won't.

  17. So what are your thoughts on John stead being captain.?

  18. Firstly, just to let everyone know I'm probably not going to get around to updating the scores and table for this round until Monday. I'm going to be staying in Bristol over the weekend for the western league groundhop, which will see me take in just the 7 games this weekend! One friday night, four on Saturday and two on Sunday. My idea of Christmas!

    Saturday's Fixtures:
    Millwall v Aston Villa
Preston North End v Wigan Athletic
    Bradford City v Sunderland
    Peterborough United v Barnsley
Forest Green Rovers v Newport County
    Yeovil Town v Exeter City

  20. Good morning - just! A bit late today.

What a lovely day we are still camping in the van, we had a great night last night 22 of us went to the bar on the campsite and had a lovely meal and a few pints of the local brew which is actually brewed on site in their micro brewery.

Today we are relaxing in the sun, we may have a walk later just to get a bit of exercise.

    Have a good day everyone.

  21. Just wanted to say a H-U-M-O-N-G-O-U-S "thank you" to all those from PoN who voted for me in the recent Supporter Liaison Officer, election. And thanks, everyone for your good wishes.

I'm O-V-E-R-J-O-Y-E-D to have been successful in becoming your Fan-elected S.L.O., and am so looking forward to helping the historic club that  I L-O-V-E and it's supporters, through the next Chapter of our "bring-it-on's!"

Rob Holland, from whom I'm due to take over, doesn't actually finish in-post, until November. However, I understand he may have some work-related commitments that may take him away earlier than that and I await confirmation from the club, on this. I will let you know once my 'official' start date is known.

    In the meantime, I've set-up a dedicated facebook S.L.O. account, here:- https://www.facebook.com/loz.clough

In addition, to a dedicated S.L.O. Twitter account, here: https://twitter.com/LozClough

and can be contacted via pm and/or dm, on either account.

At home matches, I can also be found in The Broken Wheelbarrow, from approximately 1:30pm, onwards, or alternatively, I'm seated at:- Pavis/Area: FL/Row: E/190 - which is immediately to the right of the stairs.

I'm approachable, visible, a good-listener and will usually "find an answer", so if you have a club-related problem you need help with, please don't hesitate to find me! Find me anyways and introduce yourselves, just so I can put a face to all of these 'tags'!

Additionally, if you've any "ideas" (about anything) you think the club should be doing, looking at, or isn't doing very well, I'd love to hear from you.

Again, you will never know just how much your votes/support has been/is, appreciated.

    Loz x
