Some might argue that its still early, that some teams are late bloomers with regards to settling down. John Sheridan is still clearly learning about his squad, which players are consistent etc.

For me, I don't think the issue is down to the fact that the players are still learning about each other.

Nor do I feel its down to effort as such, I think some are just struggling for consistency and failing to take in the tactics. I think if the midfield and defence played up to standard, there would be no question that our strikers could get goals. Audel for me isn't a right back, he plays better elsewhere and I would like to see someone else establish that position as their own.

Centre back wise - I can see this improving easily with the midfield doing their part.

I agree with calls for the return of Stanley Aborah, we need his creativity and hold up play - yes I do think his performance have been inconsistent but many other players have been dire far more than him. We need better movement on the flanks, do we have any wingers who can run directly at the opposition? If so, why don't see this??? Dickinson would probably perform better if those around him did, yet he needs to focus on trying to win the ball and defend - I hate seeing him whine and argue. For such a well built player, he doesn't half act like prima donna.

So, how can Notts improve for you? What would be your solution to the weak and absent midfield? Discuss.....

Well it all started again last night. Result of the night is Barcelona's 7-0 destruction of Celtic. Celtic missed a penalty at 1-0.

It reached 34.4 degrees in Gravesend yesterday. Meanwhile in Manchester over an inch of rain fell in an hour meaning Man City vs Borussia Monchengladbach was postponed until tonight.Β

Arsenal went to PSG and drew 1-1. They'll be happy with that after being outplayed for most of the game. They scored with their first shot on target after 78 mins. PSG missed a host of chances, some were laughable misses, I actually laughed.......

Trees at home for RUFC tonight, all good wishes gratefully received as we're shy te ATM & Stubbs hasn't got a clue

Is anyone else thinking its time to give Scott Loach a run in goal now?Β

Well tomorrow it all begins again, with another trip to the Wastelands of East Manchester, exactly the same fixture as the last CL group game Gladbach played in.

There's been the usual problems getting tickets, with even the people who work for Gladbach being denied access to the Hopsitality areas, 'because they're German'. Racism is alive and well in Englsih football!!

After City's performance against Man Ure and with Kun Aguerro available for the game I fear the worst...

But things may get better, after all the next game is against Barcelona...

GΓ€stefans zeigen Herz: Die AnhΓ€nger von ADO den Haag haben weiche "Wurfgeschosse" im GepΓ€ck.

Objects thrown onto the pitch, not an unknown phenomenon as these two arch-rivals with plenty of hooligans faced each other.

Β

But - on this occasion in the 12th minute soft-toys were thrown on in a co-ordinated gesture to be collected for ill children, excellent gesture

What do you make of him at this early stage? He comes across as just a sensible lower league manager for me. The type we should have seeked before hiring Short, no thrills but gets the majority of decisions spot on.

I'm learning and seeing that the Football League plan to tackle live broadcasting.

There's been a lot of 'hype' over going live on social media and people are now broadcasting moments of the game, much like the older generation did for YouTube which ultimately got tackled. The likes of Keith's 'ShakeyProductions' and of course 'NottsCountyVideos' which was ran by Josh - all things which gave the fans a chance to see things, yet was pulled down due to 'copyright infringements'.

What do you make of this? Do you think the Football League are over censoring fans? Right call? Does it actually protect their copyright?

For me it's more excuses as to try and do what the cooperation's that sponsor the FA/Football League want. Yet people will always watch the highlights in clear HD, plus its more social thing. One of my major pet hates about football is the fact that its taken from us fans.

Thoughts?

  • i have never walked out early but i did yesterday.

the game was awful, it was not like accrington played well but they just did the right things where it mattered. you could tell it meant more to them to get the points. notts just looked flat and clueless. i do not understand why we took stead off, the young lad needs someone like him around. i hate to say it but the squad seriously lacks any quality to be anything more than this.

@ohstanleyaborah your not the first to say this.

I lost count of how many fans said (even at half time) we needed a battler like Alan Smith on the field. Problem I see, we lacked movement there and having him on the field would give us someone who can win and put the fear of god into them - yet his immobility would only cause further issues. What we needed in my opinion was pace on the flanks, two proper defenders in the right and left back positions and someone who wasn't afraid to run at Accrington.

what browser do you use? why do you prefer it?

i used firefox on my samsung tablet but i have now enrolled into a work based course and so i decided to buy a new laptop. at the moment i prefer edge because its fast, clean and does not come with the annoying alerts that i noticed firefox does.

Collin 4 Sorry, have no confidence in this keeper. You never feel he will keep a clean sheet
Audel 3.5 Another lapse could, read should, have cost a goal.
Laing 5 Central defence dont work together
Duffy 4 ditto
Dickinson 4 effort but not impressed
Rodman 2 too slow, too lazy, one worthy tackle of note, otherwise nothing offered. Snijders deserves his place now
O'Connor 2 Anonymous again. Stanley gets criticised but this guy came with high expectations, which are not being delivered
Tootle 3 Not good, expected him to impose himself in a game like this.
Forte 6 Looked wasted on the wing. Did cause problemsΒ
Stead 3 Cannot play Stead and Oliver, too similar. Stead way off the pace
Oliver 4 Needed to start with Collins
Subs
Collins 5 Got pace but midfield jig saw not clicking. Needed change at 45 mins
Milsom 5 Needed Stanley instead to perhaps show something different to change the game
Campbell 4 Headless chicken syndrome. Needless lost possession which could have cost a goal

Saturday's Fixtures:
Fulham v Birmingham City
Leeds United v Huddersfield Town
Fleetwood Town v Charlton Athletic
Oxford United v Swindon Town
Carlise United v Leyton Orient

Newport County v Cheltenham Town

Driving down the motorway, nearly had a fit... H+J interviewing JF.

No PowerPoint presentations as it was radio, :D Talked about his availability to get back into the game but not much on his Β 70 days at Notts. He said he had learned from his mistakes and that he now has League Managers Association Diploma. Whoopee :D He credited LMA having a good lawyers dept.... oh dearΒ

What an absolute farce this is turning out to be, only 700 shirts for the season ticket holders only.

Surely the season ticket holders should get a percentage discount as the way it is surely disadvantages be biggest majority of our fans.

I was going to buy myself and my son & daugter the replica kits but with this farce dragging on & on and the fact we will have a new kit in 9 months time i don't see the point.

Do season tickt holders and other non-season ticket holders feel the same?

This has been circulating the internet and was posted by Sam Hickman - I think we should all help out by showing respect to a very loyal fellow supporter

Hi all!

****Please share****

Sadly on Thursday 25th August my Grandad passed away after losing his short but brave battle with cancer. He has been a loyal county fan for 68 years attending nearly every game with his Brother including 5 trips to Wembley. He has been there through the good times and bad. Even in the last two weeks of his battle when he was so ill he still insisted on going to the Stevenage and Plymouth game. In his last hours I promised him I would try my best to get his name on the board for the Accrington Stanley game on the 10th which has now been arranged and it would mean so much to me and my family if in the 79th minute, as this was his age, of the Notts County v Accrington Stanley game we could have a minutes applause in his memory for all the good times he has spent at meadow lane. All his family and friends are attending the game as a tribute to him as he just simply bled Black and White through and through. Thank you to Aileen Trew who has been a great support at this sad time and has agreed to help to promote this to hopefully make it happen.

Please could everyone that reads this give it a share to try and spread the word to every Notts fan that could possibly help make this happen...

For some reason my privacy settings are messing up on my Facebook so if your unable to share it could you please copy and paste it as your own status to help spread the word[emoji122]????

Many thanks in advance from me and my family[emoji173]️

As some of you may know, I'm a bit obsessed with WC qualifiers. I'm going to post a few noteworthy results along the road to Russia. I'll start with Guatemala's 9-3 (you read that right nine-three) win over St Vincents last night. Both sides had nothing to play for but that didn't stop them going at it for 90 minutes. St Vincents scored the first and last goals of the game. Carlos Ruiz scored 5. He has scored an incredible 39 goals in qualifying games in his career andΒ it has only taken him 50 games!Β Β

There was a cracking game in Europe as well. Bulgaria beat Luxembourg 4-3 at home. It took a late winner to deny the plucky visitors. Luxembourg levelled it in the 90th minute but Bulgaria stole it at the death.Β

Our (Rotherham) new home kit, nice innit???

new kit 4.jpg

After his hat trick performance, what do we know about him?Β

He's from Nottingham.

5ft9

He has been playingΒ for Detroit City FC but started out at Manchester United's academy before moving onto Walsall's.

It seems he can be a little bit selfish with his eye always on scoring rather than lookong for a pass.Β

Looks a good player but so could anyone against Linby with all respect.. Let's see how he fares in the coming friendlies with better service and see ifΒ we've found a diamond in the rough...

Hewitt, Atkinson, Burke.... have they a future at Notts?, probably not

Richards and Snijders probably can count themselves unlucky not to make the bench after Wednesday's performances

Β

Slovakia 0-1 England. Fantastic result, helped by yet another sending off for Martin Skertel. The guy is a red card waiting to happen.

Scotland laboured but got there in the end away to Malta. Scotland are unconvincing IMO. They need to improve drastically to qualify.
